I’m so glad I’m a regular guest at Hotel Verneuil. Last night after a long and tiring journey, I accidentally left my purse on the back seat of a taxi when I arrived at the hotel. Josef who was on reception was amazing. He made numerous phone calls and, after considerable detective work, he located the taxi driver and throughout this drama he was unfailingly optimistic, positive, calm and confident that the purse would be found. I went to bed not so convinced. But in the early hours of the morning he rang the room to tell me the purse had been found. I am so grateful because he saved me from needless worry and the terrible hassle of canceling and renewing credit cards, my driving license, professional membership cards etc. The hotel maybe small but all the staff are great! Viva Verneuil!
Loved this small hotel. Rooms are nicely appointed and staff was very friendly. Recommend going with the room upgrade for a little extra space. The breakfast was great and in such a cool room. The location can’t be beat, just a block from the river and a short walk to the Louvre, D’Orsay, and lots of restaurants. Have recommended to friends!
Hotel Verneuil is a real gem! I've stayed at this hotel on 6+ occasions over the last 15+ years for anywhere from 3 to 7 nights at a time, and it's always a treat. The location cannot be beat. It's on a very quiet street right in the middle of Paris: 2 blocks to the Seine, across the river from the Louvre and Tuileries, and 4 to 5 blocks from the Musee D'Orsay (also near Laduree if you like macarons!). The neighborhood is full of art and furniture galleries, wine shops and cafes, and is highly walkable. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and someone is always at the front desk ready to welcome you back at the end of a long day exploring. They can arrange travel to and from the airport for you, and help with other reservations as needed (once, they arranged to have a gorgeous bouquet of flowers in our room upon arrival). There is a stylish communal sitting room on the ground floor, and a tasty continental-style breakfast is served in a calm 'cave' downstairs. The hotel has reinvented its interiors over the years. Most recently, rooms were freshly renovated around May 2019 with a mid-century modern vibe, which I think was inspired by the graffitied residence of famed musician Serge Gainsbourg directly across the street from the hotel. Like most Parisian hotels, the rooms are on the small side. In June, we stayed at Hotel Verneuil at the start (3 nights in room 102) and end (4 nights in room 202) of our France trip. Both rooms were 'deluxe' accommodations, face the street (not noisy and have a great window) and were nicely done. I preferred the second room because I'm tall and the ceilings were higher (although room 102 has original wood ceiling beams which is charming). There is air conditioning (!) and the curtains are pretty good at blocking light. The bathrooms are for one person at a time, but are well finished and have everything you need. This is supposed to be a quiet hotel, which is one reason it is prized. It's meant to be a retreat inside the city. If you can't do quiet, I recommend finding another location. I love Hotel Verneuil, and will continue to stay at this home-away-from-home.
We are frequent travelers and are discerning about our hotels, food etc. Our stay at Hotel Verneuil was pleasant in every way. On a very quiet side street and close to everything: Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, historic Saint-Germain, cafes, fine restaurants, shopping. It is about 2 blocks from the Seine. Beautiful and quiet rooms, comfortable beds, nice amenities/toiletries are provided. Need to take stairs up to first floor. Then there is a tiny elevator to get you to the other floors. (They help with your bags). Extremely nice and genuinely helpful staff. Always there for you. Breakfast was in a beautiful downstairs room. Very good selection of pastries, breads, cereal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, meats and cheese. Etc. A slice of quiet heaven in the City of Lights! Would stay there again in a heartbeat! Thanks to the staff for making our stay so wonderful!
What is there to not like about Hotel Verneuil? My only hesitation in writing this review is that there may be no availability when I visit Paris again. Camille is the perfect manager- efficient, helpful, knowledgeable. Her recommendation of Cinq Mars restaurant down the street was the best. Location, location close to the Seine, quiet interesting street, felt like real Paris. My daughter, 10-year-old granddaughter and I stayed in room 102. Breakfast and staff most kind and efficient.
From the moment you step through the door the hotel envelopes you in a welcome that is both comfortable and relaxing.. Perfect location, and easy walk to all attractions.. Customer service second to none and breakfast downstairs is a real treat. Highly recommended
Perfect Paris Location: Walk to great restaurants, 10 minute walk to the Louvre, yet quiet and secluded on sparely driven street. Rooms were small (by US standards) but cozy and immaculate. Great mattress. Fun to come back to after a day of sight seeing and evening of dinning. The atmosphere is quiet and warm. The staff makes you feel as if you are the only guest. If we return to Paris we will book Hotel Verneuil again.
Having stayed at Hotel Verneuil (HV) before, this time around the experience was even better, due to the recent refurbishment of the hotel. The hotel has retained its old-world/boutiquey charm and quaintness while benefiting from the freshening up of its decor. The reasons why we come back to HV: it's central location (just across the bridge from the Right bank) on a very quiet street and its friendly and helpful staff. From the front desk associate who greets you with a warm welcome as you step into the check-in room to the server who provides a filling and varied breakfast to the room service attendant and "bellhop", everyone at HV is engaging and always ready with a smile. We are made to feel right at home (even if we are not fluent in French). For full disclosure, because of it's old world quality, the elevator only goes from the first floor to the fifth floor, so that one would need to climb the stairs from lobby to first floor to utilise the elevator and then walk down a few stairs to the beautiful, cavernous breakfast room (or have breakfast in your room :)). We look forward to our next visit.
Loved everything about this hotel! The staff, especially Joseph at the front desk, were extremely helpful. The rooms were beautifully renovated while leaving the exposed beams. And the location could not be better! So close to he Louvre and great bars and restaurants. Will definitely be back!!
Hotel Verneuil was pure luxury. In a 17th century building with lots of charm and very centrally located, they think of everything. There is even a smart phone in every room with free use in the city during your stay. We were especially fond of Joseph who worked the night shift. He was always so helpful, friendly and humorous. He also recommended a great little local place for dinner that we absolutely loved! He definitely made our 3 days that much more memorable! Thanks to Hotel Verneuil and Joseph!
