Hotel Touraine Opera3.0 out of 5.0

We have just returned from our 3rd stay in this hotel, which indicates that it is worth staying in. However this time we had a terrible experience at breakfast. There is this guy Work BT there who thinks he is a comedian and constantly interrupted us. Think Basil Fawlty and you’re getting close...... but worse. So my advice is: great little hotel, good value for money, really nice day time concierge, good location. BUT grab breakfast next door at the neighbouring coffee place.
This is a great value choice in Paris if you want to stay near Galleries Lafyette and Opera. Close to public transport (metro and bus) and walking distance to many sights (about 25 mins to Louvre, 20 mins to Sacre Coeur). While it is a 3 star hotel and the rooms are nothing fancy (and of course small but it is Paris - however there was plenty of room for a baby cot), the customer service, cleanliness and location for the price made it great value.
This is a nice boutique hotel close to the Opera neighborhood, near the grands magasins. Pretty centrally located so easy to get around from here (though there is not much in this area). Easy to get to the Metro, as well as walk up to Montmartre. The rooms are small, but this is what we expected. Service was friendly. It could be a bit noisy at times, think the walls are pretty thin. There is breakfast offered, but we were a bit disappointed by the offerings and chose to go out while we were in Paris (plus there is so much great food in Paris to enjoy!). Really liked having the coffee & tea setup in the room. Hairdryer was the only really disappointing thing about the room as it was pretty weak.
We stayed at Hotel Touraine opera from December 25- 31. The hotel is walking distance to several metro stops, Galeries Lafayette and plenty of restaurants. There's a grocery store across the street too if you want to pick up supplies like water and snacks. One key feature they offered that we loved was a wifi stick for 5 euros/day. It saved us from having to find a place to grab a sim card and we were able to connect with our family and friends back home during our trip. The hotel is dated but pretty clean. Staff was friendly and I felt safe that the door was locked at night. My only feedback is that we received supplies like towels and shampoo inconsistently. The first day, we didn't see any shampoo or soap in our room and assumed it didn't come with it so we ended up buying our own! The next day, they left a fresh supply of shampoo and lotion. Otherwise, everything else was good.
Excellent location (close to the Grands Boulevards, Opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayette), good service, clean. It's the third time I've stayed at the Touraine Opera, and I would recommend it again! Excellent value for money if you get a discount (special offer). A little expensive otherwise (that's Paris...)
Well located within a walk of Gare du Nord (for Eurostar) and many Paris attractions. We didn't need to use public transport. The hotel is small and perfectly formed. The rooms are on a par with most in Paris; not the most spacious but certainly everything that you'll need. We appreciated the tea / coffee making facilities in the room and the fact that is had a bath. Breakfast was more extensive that we'd expected; fruit, yogurts, meats / cheeses, bread and your expected pastries. Very comfortable and we'd come back again.
Nice Hotel in good position near Lafayette, rooms at 6th floor are quite narrow but for few days it is acceptable. Rooms are clean. wi-fi ok. Staff is kind. Sorry but I can't comment breakfast because I prefer do it outside, Paris is so nice!
Great hotel, friendly staff and superbeds! We had a great stay in a clean hotel with nice super beds, a friendly staff, nice breakfast and a good price. We definitly wanna go back. We like to come back.
Very happy with the accommodations, our room was on the 6th floor, with a small balcony. Very clean. Staff is very friendly and even provide us all with umbrellas for our rainy day in Paris. Only complaint is that the dining room is tiny, and there were no tables available for our group of 6, and neither was there any food or coffee ready. Our rate included breakfast and so it was disappointing that we had to head out and buy breakfast elsewhere as we didn't want to sit around and wait for tables.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here at the Hotel Touraine Opera. There were just a few things (niggles) that I had. We were in room 1 on the ground floor, and as a previous review states, you can hear/slightly feel the metro. This wasn't too much of a disturbance though and it didn't wake me up in the night. Our heating/air con/thermostat didn't seem to be working so I woke up sweating in the middle of the night and had to open the window which looks out to the middle of the building to the air con machine. There wasn't much air here! When our room was cleaned each day they didn't tend to refill the milk, and sometimes the coffee/tea. We went across the road and bought some milk as we Brits like tea! and the wooden stirrers for the cups were never changed our whole stay there. They have teaspoons at breakfast so I'm not sure why they don't just use them? Breakfast was nice but basic - if not included in your package it is quite expensive so it might be better going to a local café for breakfast. It included 3 x cereals, small croissants/pain au chocolat, bread, yoghurt, teas/coffee/orange juice, and some cheeses, bacon and mini sausages. I was quite satisfied with mine but for 16 euros a person is quite expensive. There looks to be a shelf missing from under the mirror in our bathroom (there is the frame for where a shelf should be)- where it would have been very handy to put our wash bag. The staff were great and very friendly.
