Hôtel San Régis5.0 out of 5.0

Last month, my daughter and I flew from San Francisco, CA to Paris to celebrate a milestone birthday in my absolute favorite city in the world. Hotel San Regis did not disappoint. It provided the classic luxury appointments of a five-star hotel but with the chic ambience and warmth of a small boutique establishment. Being in the upscale environment of the 8th Arrondisement, the hotel is strategically located – within a short walking distance to the Champs-Elysees, Arc Du Triomphe, the Grand Palais. It is just a block away from the exclusive designer fashion shops on Avenue Montaigne. I loved that the hotel paid attention to my online request for a Terrace Junior Suite with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Room 74 was just perfect with a panoramic view of the Parisian skyline and of course, the iconic Eiffel Tower. The fact that the hotel was situated along a quiet side street without the hustle and bustle noise of Champs-Elysees nearby – perfect! Coming in from the horrible traffic from Charles De Gaulle Airport, we were met by the bellhop who immediately and efficiently took care of our luggage without ceremony. At the Reception desk, Paul was very welcoming, providing us with a city Map to help us get perspective as to where we were in relation to the hotel’s surroundings, then taking us personally to our room on the 7th floor and professionally acquainting us with every aspect of the room to our satisfaction. Per my online request, a box of delicious macarons from La Maison Du Chocolat was already waiting in the room upon our arrival. So were a small tray of fruits and cookies – a welcome treat! The suite was immaculate and tastefully decorated. The marble bathroom – spotlessly clean. I was pleasantly delighted to see that they used the Hermes line for bathroom amenities – shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, etc. just like the Ritz (Paris) and the Hotel de Paris (Monte Carlo). The room was clearly visited by housekeeping twice a day because it was always immaculate whenever we returned to the hotel at midday and after our dinners out. I absolutely adored the breakfast room. The buffet had a choice selection of hot and cold breakfast items. The kitchen staff were very obliging to provide any variation of breakfast eggs, coffee, etc. Since we were there from 14 – 18 December, the quietly piped-in music included a compilation of classic standards interspersed with romantic holiday songs that sounded soothing to our jetlagged minds. When I realized that I forgot my travel wall plug adapter at home, Adelio at the front desk readily offered to lend me his personal charger so I can charge my iPhone since all the extra adapters were already on loan to other hotel guests who were in a similar situation. That was very nice. On Day 3 – my actual birthday, we were surprised to find a bottle of champagne chilling on an ice bucket with 2 flute glasses and a hand-written complimentary note from the Managing Owners of the hotel. What a lovely gesture! Thank you very kindly, Zeina Georges (Marketing Director) and Sarah Georges (General Manager). You have made my day very special! The hotel’s location is in a very safe area – quite close to a police outpost - something that single females traveling alone will find reassuring. My daughter and I had a lovely time. In fact, she said she would miss this hotel (so will I) and wished that we could stay there forever! Ah, if only we could!
We loved this hotel! Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by a doorman and then the front desk staff. While we arrived very early (aprox 1030), we checked in, received our museum passes, and had our bags secured while we left to go sightseeing. We received a call around 1230 to let us know that our room was ready whenever we wanted to return. The location is excellent, being located in the heart of the city with quick walks to the Metro, Champ-Elysees, and many big attractions. It is located on a quiet street, though, so there is no concern of crowds or noise. The hotel is decorated very tastefully, and our room was immaculate. I had flowers and chocolates delivered to the room (this is an extra), and the view was incredible. The bathroom was beautiful, and the shower was great. No concerns about water pressure or space here. (I'm 6'-2", so shower space can sometimes be an issue for me.) The maid service was excellent, keeping the room spotless, the coffee and water stocked, and towels clean but never being seen. I can't say anything bad about this hotel. I look forward to returning and would advise anyone looking for a romantic stay in Paris to book here.
My husband and I spent only one night at the San Regis hotel in Paris and we like it a lot . The location is just perfect to explore Paris . The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. Great place , indeed .
We have just stayed at the San Regis for 3 nights to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was simply perfect. The San Regis is a 5 star hotel extremely well located for the very best of what Paris has to offer; 10 minutes walk to the Champs Elysees, 20 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower and 15 minutes walk to Le Louvre and many other attractions. We had a fabulous suite located at the front of the hotel. The staff were absolutely fantastic - ignore previous trip advisor comments about no concierge as it’s not true, in fact the people at reception couldn’t have been more helpful. And the relaxed breakfast was first class. All in all, a truly 5 star hotel offering all you would expect and I would have no hesitation in recommending it for a long weekend in the fabulous city of Paris. Also I’d recommend the Philippe & Jean Pierre restaurant near by and dinner on the Bateaux Parisienne, both of which the hotel can book for you.
Great family run operation. Perfect from check-in to departure. Staff always very helpful. Room was great and breakfast was perfect! Quiet and great location. Come to Paris multiple times a year and will be coming back soon.
My wife and I have stayed in several different properties of the past six or seven years. They were quite nice, but none held a candle to the San Regis. The location was perfect being only a block and a half from the Champs Elysees. In another direction was the river Seine, also one and a half short blocks. Our room was on the top floor with a beautiful terrace overlooking The Grand Palais. The Eiffel Tower is quite close and was in clear view from the terrace. It is much closer the website photos depict. The suite was impeccable in every detail. The bathroom was newly refurbished and done completely in gray marble. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and answered any inquiries we had. We had dinner in the dining room on our first night. We had a couple that live in Paris join us for dinner. The food was quite good and we all enjoyed our meals. Can't wait to go back!
My husband and I stayed at the San Regis for six wonderful nights. We were greeted with such attentiveness and warmth from the bellman to the concierge upon arrival. The hotel is simply elegant. All the decor is so tasteful and very French! Just beautiful. Our room was very spacious, quiet, beautifully decorated with wall fabric and matching furniture pieces, an antique vanity, abundance of storage and drawer space and a wonderfully comfortable bed! We slept solid every night. I believe it was a junior suite. My favorite time of day is early morning and the servers downstairs in the gorgeous dining area would have my coffee coming the minute I sat down! And, they would bring it just the way I liked, with honey and cream! I just loved feeling special and getting to know Christoph and Eric was fun, too. The concierges, Mary Catherine especially, always provided excellent service to us whether it was directions, hailing a taxi and then telling the driver where we wanted to go, to having tickets to the museums for our convenience. The hotel is in a perfect location. We walked everywhere unless weather forbid. I am hoping one day to have the opportunity to go back!
The Junior suite with Terrace must be the room with the best view in Paris. No complaints at all about this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. We went for our honeymoon and the hotel concierge made sure all the restaurant booked for us knew about this and we were given a lot of attention. A very nice touch. Top marks for everything.
The hotel is a Gem in the middle of one of the most desirable location in Paris. The Staff is very kind and welcoming, the rooms are Clean, spacious and Comfy. The Breakfast/restaurant area is very welcoming and the food is delicious
The San Régis is a small luxury hotel absolutely nice and charming. The prices are not cheap, of course, but having in mind the usual costs in thin kind of hotels in Paris we can say is affordable. Superb location at "triangle d'or" area (avenue Montaigne, fur François pier, Champs Elysées ave.). Excellent location fro public transport too and near the Grand Palais (50 m.) and the main museums and shops in Paris. Excellent service, very kind. The only problem is the reduced size of the standard rooms. Certainly these rooms have an affordable prize but in a 5 star hotel I think it is necessary that all the rooms, not only executive or suites have a comfortable size. But is a high standard hotel with really kind and effective service.
