The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. It was in a great location and not far from the metro. A safe area and in close proximity to an array of shops.

Very clean and quiet. Very small room. I asked for a bigger room and it is hard to believe that in a 15 day stay that one could not be found. Room was quiet, which is great , but as it was an inside room, there was no sun evr. So it made it a very sad place after a while. Location next to big stores is a bit of a nuisance if you can't stand crowds, but a plus for getting food at Lafayette Gourmet. It's also an easy walk to place de La Concorde with theaters near by. Lots of subways around hotel. It's also very convenient for the bus to and from the airport- a deal at 10Euros! I would stay again if a larger room was available and I was staying only for a few days.

This is a historic hotel, but newly refurbished, and with a modern decor. This trip, I was attending ballets, operas and a symphonic concert at night. During the day I visited museums, did sightseeing, shopped and ate at good restaurants . The location was perfect for me. Within about a three block radius, I had many excellent restaurants, and impressive shopping centers and shops, as well as the Palais Garnier opera house and museum. For more distant locations, I used the Metro, and there are two Metro stations within this same three block radius. From them, it was easy to get to Monmartre, Opera Bastille, Notre Dame, Champs-Élysées, and the museums that I wanted to see. I had looked at other reviews, with some negative opinions, before deciding to stay at Hotel Opera D'Antin. But, my total experience during my six night stay was pleasant. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I got help with directions several times, and even got a tip as to where to shop for some specific items that I wanted to buy. My single room on the fifth floor was really compact, with the double bed seeming almost room filling, and the bathroom had only a shower. But, it worked for me; it was all new and fresh, and the bed was quite comfortable. The tv set had 20 channels, including CNN and a BBC entertainment channel. There was free wireless internet that also worked well with my laptop computer. The last time I was in Paris, my cost to have high-speed wired internet in my room was something like $30 per day. I did the extra charge hotel breakfast each day. It was self-service, with a good variety of choices, including fresh orange juice, ham, prosciutto, hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruits, cheeses and pastries. It was simply more convenient for me than to go outside a short distance to one of the several neighborhood restaurants that served breakfast. I also used the Paris Shuttle service that I got through Orbitz. The van met me at the airport and took me directly to my hotel, and then picked me up at the hotel and took me directly to my airline terminal for departure.
