The hotel was amazing until I had to check out. My friend, who was also a guest at this hotel but checked out a day earlier, left his file behind in my room. I was unable to contact him so I decided to leave it at the reception in case he wants to pick up later. Sandra at the reception was super rude and said no in an extremely offensive way. I asked for this to be placed in “lost and found”, as what normal Hôtels will accommodate. She continued to say No to me in a rude way and kick up a big scene in the reception and they say they don’t do this for guests. I was extremely embarrassed so I asked her to just throw it away. I cannot believe that such a pleasant hotel cannot deliver a basic service of keeping lost & found items. And I think Sandra should apologise to the guests for speaking in such an offensive tone.
Positives - Good location - Nice decor throughout hotel - Spa facilities were clean and well maintained - Room was tidy and most things expected - Some staff were were welcoming and friendly - Terrace and lunge were nice for relaxing - Bathroom was well layer out and spacious Negatives - No iPod stand in the room as advertised - Corridors had a unpleasant smell - No fridge in the room - Air conditioning was temperamental - TV was basic and channels were a bit outdated In general the hotel was good. Value for money? not so. Would I use again? for short trips only.
After reading other reviews, I have to disagree with the area being unsafe. I felt very safe walking around the area and it was very convenient to the train station. There are a few restaurants close by and close distance to St. Martin canal which is a trendy new area, great to explore. I felt the hotel staff were always friendly and helpful, the front desk even printed out directions for us and always pointed locations out on the map. The sheets and towels were of high quality. I see at lot of reviews people complain of the room being small, but this is to be expected in Paris and the majority of the time we were not in our room so we didn't find this to be an issue. However, do expect a VERY small bathroom and the water does go everywhere. My biggest complaint which is why I am only giving it three stars is the AWFUL sewage smell coming from our room. After reading other reviews it appears others have experienced this. Maybe it was only our room, 503, but it really smelled like poo our entire trip. Opening the window helped to air it out, but this is something the hotel should really look into because there must be something wrong with the plumbing if other people are complaining of similar issues.
Today, I found the Hotel Business Card from my last stay, and could not delay anymore to post this review. We arrived this hotel with no reservation after a failed apartment rental nearby. Florence, the manager of the Hotel, received our family herself with a warm and friendly smile and quickly made all the arrangement to prepare two rooms for us. Our stay included complimentary breakfast, and I must emphasize the quality of the products. Fresh croissants were baked in-house daily, and hot boiled eggs for a warm experience were also available. There were also complimentary croissants across the day in case a guest arriving between meals needed a snack. Rooms were really large and comfortable, with windows that could be open to ventilate the room in opposition to larger Hotels which lock windows. Bathrooms were spotless. Moreover, all staff was extremely friendly and willing to guide us around the neighborhood. Also, we were traveling with a small child, and they were able to satisfy our special requirements to take care of her. Also, Mademoiselle Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Gare Du Nord and Poissonniere metro station as well as markets, pharmacy and even the Lariboisière Hospital (AP-HP). I am looking forward to staying here again in my next visit.
We only stayed one night, but felt that the service was excellent. Breakfast tasty. Staff very helpful. Beds comfortable. Rooms small but tasteful. Will definitely use again and recommend to friends. Very close to Gare du Nord.... 5 mins walking.
Rooms are lovely, just the right size for our needs, clean and well decorated. All Staff were really helpful and very attentive. Breakfast was really well done plenty to choose from. The spa was very nice to relax in after a long day of walking and climbing. I highly recommend the massage bed. Thank you to all the Staff who made us feel welcome. I would want to stay here again.
From the moment I walked into the front door until the moment I checked out, the staff were absolutely wonderful! The first thing I noticed when I walked into my room was how clean and spotless it was, and it just got better from there. The staff was always willing to help me plan my day, give me directions and they even sell tickets to the more popular tourist sites. It is a quick 5 min walk to Gare du Nord, which is the train station that can take you anywhere you want to go. Thank you Hotel Mademoiselle! I would definitely stay here again.
We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist, checked in and were offered a coffee in the salon. Which was just what we needed! The room was clean, with enough towels in the bathroom, a bathrobe and slippers and facilities to make tea or coffee. We travelled with one of our sons who had a separate room, We all had a good night sleep, no noice, good bed, enough pillows. We were offered a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning.
We picked this mainly because it's near Gare du Nord, about 10 mins walk. Location wise not too bad. Staff was nice, special thanks to Sandra whom was very welcoming and patient in explaining the attractions to us. Room was spacious enough for 2, breakfast was amazing. The only problem we had was the shower overran and wet the room floor at night, I'm guessing the drainage system wasn't good. Other than that, pretty decent and romantic place!
The place is just in a weird area. The same people that tried pickpocketing my father on the metro were hanging out on the street later. If your are able to afford staying closer, I would definitely choose that option rather than try and save. While the architecture is beautiful everywhere in Paris, location is so important!
