Hôtel Louvre Richelieu3.0 out of 5.0

My first time in Paris for a rare solo vacation. Was so pleased to have booked seven nights in Hotel Louvre Richelieu. The staff were kind and respectful. The room had everything I needed: comfortable bed, window with a view, clean bathroom, quality shower, and reliable wi-fi. Towels were changed and bed was made every day. Breakfast was included with my booking (and I liked getting up, having breakfast, then getting ready for my outings). More than reasonably priced. I'm a fan of stairs rather than elevators - no waiting. Location was ideal, near the Louvre, amenities, metro; I walked everywhere and felt safe. Overall, excellent trip and accommodations!
This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, and is a tad hard to find, but is worth it! I won't lie, when we got out of the cab and saw the entryway, I was worried. However, when we walked in we were greeted by VERY kind staff and a quaint lobby. There is no elevator (the building is super old), so pack light! The bar and breakfast nook are one in the same, but the booze is fairly priced (not the normal hotel gauge), and the service is lovely. We traveled with 2 children and my mom and aunt who don't speak french. They spoke English with my mom and were VERY kind about it. Cans were called, drinks were delivered to rooms, and our bags were carried upstairs-all with smiles. If you need an affordable place right by the louve-this is a great place!
Stayed in a comfort room for 3 in July . Excellent location close to the Louvre and a short hop through the alley to the gardens of Le Palais Royal.we didn't use metro or buses once as we just walked from hotel. Yes the hotel has no lift.the triple comfort room was big enough for 3 adults without treading on each other . Very clean and well decorated , beds very comfortable with quality linen . Bathroom was spacious with wet room style shower. Very efficient air conditioning which was very welcome on a very hot week end .wifi very good in room Didn't try breakfast as many good cafes locally. Lots of very good bistrots locally. There is a local supermarket that is open till late close by if you need refreshments for your room Staff very friendly and helpful . Hotel great for exploring a Paris . We weren't looking for anything more than a comfortable room to rest and refresh whilst exploring Paris and this fitted the bill perfectly. We particularly liked pressing the big button to summon a taxi 😂
I got everyone on the top floor which was extremely small and smelt like I have freshener to the point that it made me nauseous. And the street is quite noisy. Do not book with breakfast but go to the café oh bakery nearby. And there is not even one iron and ironing board to share between all the rooms so you're out of luck if your shirt is wrinkled. I didn't see a fire alarm in my room and there's no emergency exit besides the stairs everybody's using. So if there is a fire and the stairs are blocked, your F.....
The hotel has no lift so you need to walk up at least one flight of stairs which is tough if you are a solo traveler. There are no amenities at all and the room is cold and noisy. That's what you get for less money in Paris. It is close to everything so that's the only plus but there are so many other cheap hotels close by to choose from.
Great place to stay in Paris! Walking distance from the Louvre, Palais Royal, Jardin des Tuileries, subway, bus stop, restaurants and cafes. The location is fantastic! We took a bus (Roissybus - ticket: 11.5 euros) from Charles de Gaulle airport to Opera (rue Scribe/rue Auber) and walked to the hotel. Very convenient! The room and bathroom were very clean. Our room had a double bed and a single bed which was perfect for family! Bed and pillows were comfortable. Shower was very nice. Bathroom was larger than most Paris bathrooms! Hotel staff were very friendly! Manager speaks fluently Portuguese and English - besides French, of course! The only downside was the internet connection (wi-fi) not working in the rooms, only in the reception. Manager assured it would be fixed soon! Additionally, if you have heavy luggage it could be a problem because hotel doesn't have an elevator. Since we travel "light" we didn't have this problem! The hotel offers breakfast but we opted to go to the several patisseries (bakery) near the hotel.
This is a great value priced hotel in the heart of Paris. It is clean and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. These are the things that are most important to me in a hotel. We spent 3 nights there on our last visit. This will be my new home when it Paris from now on.
We booked this hotel last minute after a disastrous AirBnb experience. We were literally in the AirBnB for the 15 minutes it took to find and book this hotel. On the reservation, it said the registration desk is closed from midnight until 7am. I called the hotel and ask if they could wait until we got there and they said it would be fine. We got to the hotel around 12:15 and checked in. We were very relieved to find a clean room and comfortable beds. We had a queen bed and twin bed for the 3 of us. The room is pretty small, not much room to move around between the 3 of us and 3 suitcases but the bathroom was spacious. There isn't an elevator but the front desk worker helped us with our luggage. The free wifi seemed to go in and out. It wasn't a huge deal because we mostly just needed a place to sleep and get ready. Great location. Easy walking distance to attractions and metro with tons of restaurants nearby. A lot of restaurants close around 10:30pm but a couple blocks from the hotel you can find a strip of restaurants open later. We didn't have any noise issues in the hotel and were able to sleep in every day. You will also need to pay a city tax upon check in if you prepay. I think this is common since we experienced the same thing in Venice. The hotel doesn't have many amenities but it's clean, in a good location, with friendly and helpful staff and some English TV!
The hotel is very well located, close to the Louvre and metro stations, it was renovated no long ago, the room was clean and the bed quite comfortable, some minor details like the safe was not fixed on the wall, a bit noisy during the night and no minibar! The staff was quite helpful. Good hotel if you just want a bathroom for a shower and a good bed to sleep because this is only what the hotel can offer. Quite small hotel, no elevator, no bar, and the breakfast is really poor, we just had it once.
This is a gem of a hotel located within a short walk of the Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries. We were in a newly renovated room that was comfortable and lovely. Pricing was incredible based on the room and the location. The common areas and the rooms were spotless. Staff was wonderfully helpful and nice. Huge selection of places to eat nearby. Highly recommend the Hotel Louvre Richelieu.
