The hotel is within walking distance from the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries gardens (literally 5 minutes). Staff was helpful, social and multi-lingual (they spoke Spanish and English, besides French of course). My room was clean and smaller that other hotels BUT I was in Paris to enjoy the city so that was not an issue for me.
This hotel was in a great location. The room was large and the bathroom was large. The side view is great. The only negative is the small elevator, but it was not really an issue. It's only an issue when you have to move luggage, but we managed just fine. Room service was not good. I don't think they have many amenities, but we were out all day so we didn't need much. The staff was very helpful. I plan to stay here again.
The front desk staff are courteous, bilingual and as good as it gets. The room cleaning staff are friendly and the breakfast available was delicious. Hope to return.
I booked this hotel because of its location. Walking distance to the Louvre, D'Orsay and metro, plus plenty of restaurants and shops. Expected typical small European hotel room. Was pleasantly surprised by the clean, comfortable room with large bath. Great, great staff and very good breakfast. Would highly recommend to anyone going to Paris and would definitely return.
First and foremost, I want to compliment the staff. They were the most helpful, friendly, competent and most welcoming people I've ever encountered in my hotel stays. The location is superb - walked to the Grand Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee dorsay. The room was very nice and always clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The only thing I would have wished for is a tv service with more English speaking channels or the option to watch French tv with English sub-titles. Overall, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the hotel and its wonderful, wonderful staff.
The Hotel Montanta is just feet away from the Louvre making it convenient for tourists. Exit the metro at Tuliers stop and it is just across the street. Very nice if you have luggage to carry. The breakfast (if you get it with the room) is good...simple and not French food per se, but nice to wake to. We had a triple with 3 single beds. Large room and very comfortable mattress for a good sleep. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and patient. They really made our stay there enjoyable (even offering unique food options and tourist information). There is a small grocery store around one corner which was perfect for snacks and even had inexpensive wine. Excellent choice, especially for travelers who speak little to no French. Bon Journey!
Well-situated hotel. Easy walking to the Louvre, Opera, shopping and other right bank attractions. Generally a helpful and accommodating staff. However when we checked in they assured us that breakfast was included and then checking out they charged 16 euros/person for breakfast. When I told them that the front desk had assured us an inclusive breakfast they acted irresponsibly and said they couldn't speak for what the front-desk said on Friday, it was now Monday and there was a different person working the desk and we would need to pay up. Very unpleasant at the end. Lots of hotel options so we will opt for a different place next time.
This hotel has a great location, it's just 5 mins from the Louvre with souvenir shops nearby along with a great little restaurant called La Carosel which had really good food at very reasonable prices
This hotel was exactly what you would expect of a charming pied a tier in Paris. Very charming, small and the location can't be beat. The staff was friendly and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and bathroom, especially in Paris. Have stayed at much larger or well known hotels but didn't get as much space! The only minus was that breakfast was not included.
This hotel is so lovely and special. The small touches and details made for a very nice stay. The room was adorable and comfortable. The sheets are so soft! The staff was top-notch and helped me with anything I needed... directions, recommendations, more heat! They were great. I highly recommend it.
We thought breakfast would be included. it wasn't.
Outstanding! Location, room, staff, everything! We would/will stay there again. Not a big room, but comfortable for two people.
The location was within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, Louvre, and d' Orsay. The Metro is about a one block walk away.
excellent location near the Louvre and close metro stop. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room is small (based on US) but good amenities. If only interested in a restful, comfortable place to sleep because you are out enjoying Paris, then this is the place. A full breakfast is available, but also expensive compared to US, breakfast-included hotels. Would definitely stay there again on a return trip to Paris.
We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was a fine little place. The room was average-ish (but actually quite large for European standards from what I hear). It was clean and fine, just not in that "Mandarin" tier - or even the "W" tier. No super frills. But let's face it, you're in Paris - you're room is simply a place to crash between awesome food! The bathroom was fine too. Shower and tub and everything worked well. The staff, though, were great!! They were very helpful every day and helped us book our private car to the airport. Very nice and helpful with great attitudes. That's always good when you're in a foreign country. The location was the main reason why we pick the hotel. It's right near most everything - the Louvre, Eiffel tower, Latin Quarter, Notre Dame. We walked a ton and always felt we could easily get back to our hotel on foot or vie the Metro. All in all, I would stay here again. Maybe not for a honeymoon (I might spend a bit more next time to get a little more luxury), but for a week trip to Paris, it was really nice! A great affordable hotel in the center of everything.
friendly, helpful staff. spacious room and quaint boutique like hotel
every single person working the reception desk was very friendly and eager to help with a smile. I don't know what has happened over the last 10 years since we were last in europe but it seems like everyone got a memo that friendly and courteous service is important to travelers. rooms were bigger than you would expect from these types of hotels. bathroom was way bigger than expected as well
Staff extremely FRIENDLY & HELPFULL..Had a triple room but still small by USA standards. Location is perfect.
The staff was more than wonderful: friendly like having friends away from home. They were helpful with every need we had from making reservations for dinner to planning excursions to teaching my husband to make his own espresso with steamed milk. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom huge. There is definitely a "lift" (elevator) for those who said there is none. I have pictures. The location was great! We were 3 blocks from the Louvre. And 1/2 block from the Rue Rivoli (sp). We could take the metro or bus to anywhere. We chose the bus this time to avoid the steps in the metro and that worked fine. They recommended a restaurant, something "Auberge" or "Auberge" something right up the street. It was wonderful. We had 2 dinners there and only wished we had known about it at the beginning of the trip so we could eat there more often. Have a great time staying at this hotel.
The hotel is located in a great area. Very close to Tuileries garden, the Louvre and lots of shopping & dining, also only about a 3 minute walk to a metro station. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They all speak English very well, and also did not cringe when I attempted French. The rooms are very small, but in a city like Paris, it will only used it for sleeping, so no big deal there. The room and general areas of the hotel were clean. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel because it seemed pricey, especially when there are so many great boulangeries in the area. It is hotel policy to leave your key at the front desk any time you leave, which I was not thrilled about at first. However, at any other hotel, they can just make a new card if they want to get into your room, so it's not really any different. It's kind of nice not to worry about keeping track of the key. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers, and would stay there again in the future. Thanks for a great stay!
