My mother and I stayed here for 2 nights the second week of June. We had an amazing time! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are huge. The hotel is massive and from reception it did take a good 5-10 minutes to walk to our room. The beds were a little hard but I have found that with most places I have stayed in within France. The breakfast buffet was delicious, loads of choice. I particularly loved the pancake machine. The location is excellent and the shuttle service is really frequent. However, the shuttles can some times be jam packed so be prepared if you get claustrophobic. All the Disney staff were really lovely and spoke fluent English. CouldnâÂÂt be more helpful. Also as we found out, if you purchase anything from the parks before 3pm (I think) you can get it sent back to your hotel and can pick it up in the boutique after 8pm. This was very handy for us as we spent loads!!! Overall we had an amazing stay at Newport Bay and will definitely stay here again in the future :-)
This hotel is very close to Disneyland just 15 mins walk, every thing about this hotel was awesome, we had full board and the food was just awesome, sea food buffet was amazing and we could eat as much as we want, u have to visit this place, promise you won’t regret
The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the staff are friendly, the food is great and the rooms are serviced every day. About a 15 minute walk the parks and a 5 minute bus ride, the bus was packed so we found it easier to walk. If I was looking for a criticism it would be the lifts, they were extremely busy and you often had to wait a while. Overall a fantastic holiday!
Previous trips have been in the Sequoia so we were keen on a different experience. Situated on the far side of Lake Disney and a 15 minute walk to the Village it's only slightly further than the Lodge and carries a very nautical theme as you'd expect. Rooms are standard Disney fare with two queen beds and plenty of space for everything Cast members on reception, shop and pool couldn't be more helpful including looking in the back for colder drinks as the stock in the fridge had been recently filled. Fussy eaters and skipping the meal plans meant we didn't use the restaurant so I can't comment there. The usual pricing also means the bar was avoided too! As you'd expect there's a character there each morning which is positioned in a nook to give you the feeling of a private experience even though you're fully visible to anyone walking past. The only observation would be the queue covers on entrance to the shop but its head is before the other entrance so people aren't prevented from entering or leaving, in fact after your character visit you leave that way
If you've been to the Yacht and Beach Clubs at Walt Disney World in Florida, or been on a Disney Cruise, this hotel will feel very familiar. You'll see design and decoration elements reminiscent of all three. Rooms are comparable in size to an Disney value or moderate resort, with moderate or deluxe resort level amenities. It will feel comfortable and familiar to any Disney regular -- and if you're not a Disney regular, know that this is high praise for a hotel! Also be warned that it has the Disney hotel problem: the building is enormous and it feels like your room is about ten miles away from the elevator! Two on-site restaurants and a gift shop. Pro tip -- they do NOT have the typical sundries at the hotel shop -- don't expect to find sunscreen, aspirin, diapers or other essentials here. We were surprised by that. Do that shopping in the city before you head out to Marne-la-Vallee. It's a bit of a walk from the hotel to the theme parks, past other hotels and through Disney Village, but it is a nice walk, or you can take the shuttle bus. Either way is easy. Note that you will go through airport-style security repeatedly - on the way into the hotel, on the way into the parks, and sometimes when you feel like you just did that five minutes ago going to and fro. On the bright side, since your bags go through an x-ray rather than being hand searched, it's reasonably speedy and the guards are generally quite friendly. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel.
We have just returned from a 4 night stay in Newport Bay Hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Check in looked very busy, but we were served almost straight away and the check in staff where able to issue my husband with a Green Disability pass which saved us having to queue at City Hall for it. Our room was pleasant, if a little basic, there is no tea/coffee or fridge, there is a hairdryer and iron. The room was very clean and bright as it had two large windows, the curtains were a good heavy weight so we weren't woken at first light. The bathroom was very ulititarian but there was good water pressure in the shower and cute Mickey themed toiletries. The sink area was outside the toilet which is a set up I find convenient when multiple people are sharing a room. We didn't have breakfast included and didn't eat at the restaurant or go to the bar, so I can't comment on the food or drink offering. Although it did look expensive! The pool is absolutely lovely, we used both the indoor and outdoor pool and loved both. I had read reviews that the pool was cold, but it was lovely and warm when we were there. It is quite deep for smaller kids, but there is a small kiddie pool both indoor and outdoor and there are lots of flotation devices provided. The changing facilities weren't the greatest, a bit cramped, but they were fine. A couple of times we just returned to the room to change and no comment was passed about taking pool towels out of the pool area. There were a few niggles, it was never mentioned to us at check in that our room card entitled us to one free beverage from the coffee machine per day. I only knew this from reviews on Tripadvisor. The coffee machine on our floor didn't work 3 out of 4 days and neither did the ice machine so we had to trawl from floor to floor to get coffee and/or ice. Also this hotel is huuuge! I requested a room close to the lift, but we were about as far from the lift as it was possible to be. It was a good 7 minute walk to the lift. Also, the shorter path around the lake is closed so again, an added walk on top of a lot of walking in the parks. The shuttle is good though and fairly regular. One other niggle is that reception leads out to the shuttle, but if you want to walk to the parks, you have to go to -1, there is only one tiny lift that services this area. So all buggies, wheelchairs. motility scooters etc have to share this one tiny lift. Crazy in a hotel of this size. Overall though, we had a fantastic stay. I would stay again, but would probably wait til the Hotel New York is finished refurbishment as it is very conveniently situated for the parks.
Recently completed a 4 night stay at this Disney hotel. From arrival to departure everything was perfect despite the hotel being extremely busy. All of the staff go out if their way to make your stay magical and greeted our daughter with big smiles and treated (and called) her like a princess. The rooms are spacious with good facilities and where we were was nice and quiet once everyone settled for the night. We never ate dinner in the hotel but breakfast was varied and plentiful oh and we never had to wait more than a few minutes even at peak times. The shuttle bus can be very busy but at every 15 mins it's easy to wait for next one. We walked to and fro the parks most days as it's an easy 10 mins to the village and 15 to the parks. Only gripe was that some bottles were left in the corridor near our room (not ours) for 3 days which my 3 year old liked to knock over. Sorry if you were in a room nearby! Will stay here again if we return to DLP unless I win the lottery and can stay at the Disney hotel closer to the parks.
Had a lovely 4 night stay in May. Overall the feel of the hotel was very nice. It was relatively busy at meals times but the waiting times to be seated were minimal due to efficient staffing. However, we were unfortunate to be in room 3272 which is officially the noisiest room I have ever stayed in. It is opposite the door to the stairwell which banged incessantly and above the restaurant. You can hear every table being laid and cleaning trolley being pushed. The lift situation from the reception area to the lake and the park is ridiculous. One tiny lift to service a myriad of push chairs and wheelchairs really isn’t good enough. I would also recommend a food package as a child’s “all you can eat” breakfast is about £25. Our 3 year old has a bowl of cereal and an apple most mornings for not value for money. Other than that it was a great place to stay. Food was lovely, the pool was fun and the staff were pleasant.
We had a wonderful four night stay in a Compass Club lakeside family room. From the moment we arrived the staff at the hotel made us feel incredibly welcome. We couldn't fault a single member of staff at the hotel and have only praise for the effort that they made to make our children feel special. The hotel itself is clean and the swimming pool was fantastic- it was really hot during our stay and the outside pool was welcome after a day in the park. The extras that you get in the compass club package are SO worth paying a few more pounds for. The 'tea' served from 4pm- 5.45pm was enough to fill us up and the food itself was delicious. The drinks that you can help yourself to (both hot and cold) were a real bonus (as the drinks in the park are VERY expensive) and the fact that there is a special lounge where you eat your breakfast means you can eat when you want without having to pre-book a breakfast time. The lakeside view room we had was comfortable, with a fridge and 2x comfortable double beds. The views over the lake were beautiful and watching the sun go down and the reflection in the water was a bonus every night. The only thing we could be negative about was the odd smell in the room (we think it might have been drain related) and the fact that shower was either boiling hot or cold but these things didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay. Thank you Newport Bay hotel and staff- you helped our family make magical memories that will last forever!
Just back from Newport Bay and somewhat disappointed. Our room was a standard room which is on par with a Premier Inn in the UK, minus the tea and coffee. Room was tired and the safety lock was hanging off. The bathroom had cracked tiles and was not finished to a high standard. The pool changing area was claustrophobic and a bit dirty. The pool itself could do with being updated. Staff were friendly and helpful. The walkway is still under refurbishment and it’s a LONG walk after a day in the park round the lake so we ended up using the bus. If I’d known we might have been tempted to either stay at the Cheyenne or upgrade to the Disneyland hotel, it would have been nice to have been informed at time of booking! Disney itself never fails to please however!
