What a great three night stay. Location is within easy walking distance to good Shopping & Cafes. Rooms are tastefully furnished, clean and modern. Staff are really attentive and easy to talk with. Car parking is semi secure, but night lighting and 24 hour staffing covered any security concern.

Upgrades to rooms are excellent, great location and easy parking. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Rooms are spacious. Menu looks great but didnt have time to dine in. Been staying here for over 15 years

We received a polite and warm welcome. There was no help with the bags but there was a lift to take us to the second floor. The reception area and the hallways were clean and fresh looking. We were in a quiet room overlooking the car park with the main shopping area visible a short distance away. The room was a rectangle with the bathroom in the right hand corner as one enters the room. The living space was about four and a half metres square. It was quiet and comfortable. The king sized bed ran parallel to the bathroom wall. It was clean and comfortable. There was an armchair and a chair by the writing table. A case rack took one case at a time but there was a good wardrobe and drawers in which to put clothing. In the wardrobe was an ironing board to go with the iron under the bench that held the television. The television was the latest model, not overly large but with a superb picture. Sports, film and general entertainment channels were available but the choice was not extensive. This hotel had excellent lighting. As well as clear and bright overhead lights in the ceiling, , two bedside lamps sat on shelves at side of the side of the bed. There was an electric jug for heating water for soup, tea or coffee. The fridge held the usual assortment of goods for sale, plus milk, which was gratis. Not free was the internet. This was expensive at ten dollars a day. Bring your cellphone and use the data plan if you just want to check emails. There was also no air conditioning. Given the hot weather, this was a surprising omission in a modern hotel. Instead, a standing fan sat beside the counter. For us in Spring it was adequate but others might choose to go elsewhere in Summer heat. The walls were painted a warm shade of grey. The carpets were swirls of grey with red dots, a somewhat acquired taste although pleasant enough. The room was bright and pleasant, where one could stay comfortably on a wet and miserable day without feeling the need for a change of scenery. The bathroom was tiled. The counter and single basin were adequate. The shower worked well with an excellent supply of hot water. It was meticulously clean, as was the rest of the room. The Copthorne is right in the heart of Palmerston North. It is reasonably priced. The location is a big asset. Parking is plentiful. The downstairs lounge and seating areas are spacious and pleasant. If the restaurant doesn't suit, there are supermarkets and restaurants within an easy walk. We enjoyed staying four nights at the Copthorne and would go back again.

I stayed 2 nights in the Junior Suite located on the 6th Floor. Check in was alright, although for some reason My Millennium membership had not come up with the booking and had to pay a $75 deposit, which was refunded when it was realised I was a member, despite trying to give the receptionist my millennium premium card on arrival. I had previously stayed in the exact same room within the last month and it was dissapointing to see the curtains still had not been replaced (as they had large multiple tears in them). However the room itself was great, heaps of space to relax and really clean too. I love how comfy the beds are here, always get a great nights sleep. I would recomend staying as I believe the hotel offers great value for money.

Good location, reasonable price, friendly staff, comfortable bed. lots of parking space. Very close to town and amenities. Lots of places to choose to dine in. close to Burger king, kfc and carl's jr which my kids loves.

Stayed the weekend for a family event that was held in Palmerston North. The room was lovely and the front desk staff were nice and friendly, sadly the restaurant on the other hand was the opposite. Well the breakfast was, staff were too busy chatting to look after us, and the hot buffet was a disaster. I guess that's what happens when you have people on that don't care.

This hotel is quite basic but nothing special. Rooms are nice with some been revamped. Staff were friendly and parking easy. The best thing is the hotel is relatively close to the centre of town. Would recommend if you’re looking for value for money.

My overnight stay and breakfast was fab as always. The room was clean and well presented, with a good view over the city center. Breakfast the following morning had a good range of options neatly presented

Bathroom exhaust fan not going at all. Make sure this is going before your next warrant of fitness for your building. Bed was very comfortable. No air con in room? this is very strange as I would expect this as a standard feature for present days. Appreciate that the original hotel didn't have air con, however this would be something I would expect most people would expect. Not sure how things are in the heat of summer.

The staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast at Jimmy Cooks was delicious and good value. My only complaint is the online booking system would o my allow me to book twin rooms. However at check-in the staff soon found us double rooms. Will happily stay here again.
