Spent a week here earlier this month. It's in La Kalsa, a neighbourhood which is the on the up, which means it's a mixture of shabby and chic, but is convenient for the historic centre. The star feature of the hotel is the beautiful pool set in sub-tropical gardens, a great place to unwind after a hot and stuffy day's sightseeing. We had a new style room on the 3rd floor: comfortable, not over-spacious, but with good facilities and quiet air con. It also had a small balcony with wonderful views of the sea and harbour. The downside was the busy road in the foreground that was very noisy day and night, even with all windows closed, and it disrupted our sleep. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and the staff were unwaveringly friendly.
I absolutely loved this place. We had a room with a seaview (3rd floor) and it was totaly amazing. The pool is not big, but the whole are is clean. Breakfast has variety of options although I was eating sweet pastries mainly - they were too tasty to refuse :) Room was tidy, we had kettle, welcome water, coffee and tea in our room. Bathroom had all facilities and toiletries needed. The staff is very helpful as well. It was a great stay for a short business trip.
It’s our fourth night here and we love the service, the hotel pool and everyone working here. Regarding the restaurant, Instead of eating out in town we’ve eaten a lot of our meals in the hotel restaurant. That normally goes against what we do but the service and the food keeps us coming back. The restaurant manager in particular. His name is Amtonio (I hope I have that correct, my Italian is not good). He is a delight and knows how to treat customers! We’ve been on food tours in town and eaten out plenty but we just love coming here to eat, relax and be treated so well. We can’t say enough about how good the food is. Tonight we had the burgers and were blown away how good they were. We love burgers and they beat most of what have had from well known establishments in the US. Anyway, plan your visit to relax and be treated well. Tell Amtonio hello, he’s a joy! You won’t regret your stay.
the last time we stayed here it was part of the Jolly Hotel group,it is still a really nice hotel and ideally situated just off the main promenade and not far from some good resturaunts,we had a side sea view with a balcony where we watched the cruise liners come and go.some of the back streets are a bit dirty and dark in the area so stick to well lit streets
We went to a BandB posing as a hotel. It was gross we called NH Palermo and they saved us Three woman traveling alone were now safe in a decent hotel. The restaurant is exceptional and the staff even better. Got in later and ate at the hotel. Dinner was delish our waiter was so kind and helpful. The breakfast was delish and and they even make eggs to Suite. Same waiter we were so happy. Next day we stayed at the gorgeous pool with bar service and lunch. One block away is pizzaria with full seafood and deserts. Location is awesome with a park and sea across the street. If coming to Palermo this is the place to stay if you want to feel special and have a great stay.
We stayed here as part of a tour group in May. The hotel has a large modern foyer, is well decorated and looks as you would expect a 4 Star hotel to look. Unfortunately as a member of a tour group we were given rooms of a two star quality. The rooms were far from the lift which was difficult for my husband with a new hip. We were told the hotel was full when we offered to pay for a room nearer to the lift. These rooms are standard rooms which do not have any frills such as a kettle or nice toiletries, they are small and depressing. The corridor for these standard rooms is shabby, a red patterned carpet which was dirty was not joined correctly and caused a trip hazard. The included dinner and breakfast were good.
I stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and it was awesome... my room had a great view for the sunrise. The location is great...most of the places and markets can be done by walking, but it is also connected via local transport. The food was great specially the breakfast and the deserts they served at dinner. The best part was the staff; amazing people. At the reception and at resturant, the staff was really polite, helping and cheerful. Their is a special warmth when people in Palermo meet and greet. Amazing trip.... Thankyou NH, you really made it exceptional....
We stayed for a super and relaxing break 22-27 December. The meal we had on Christams Eve was excellent and very good value. The staff were incredibly helpful in dealing with a some problems we enountered in Palermo city.
Stayed 3 nights - we walked to the hotel (wheeling our bags) from the train station and actually arrived hours before the 2pm check-in time, so reception held our bags. Having booked the family room with twin share beds and a balcony, when we entered the room it wasn't set up with twins so called reception and about 5-10 mins later staff arrived to split the bed and make up as twin. We had plenty of space for 2 people as there was a balcony and another whole room as part of the family room. Clean & tidy - good bathroom with everything you'd expect and a heated mirror that didn't fog up. Comfortable beds. Our family room with balcony had a partial water/port view and a view across the garden of an old historic building. For our stay, we opted to find a nearby café to have our morning cornetto & coffee at (with the locals), and good one was just a 3 minute walk away (just around the corner from the NH Hotel actually). NH Hotel is a good location as were able to walk to the city's historic centre sites and the restaurants. On the day we left, we made use of the guest/public lounge areas and the free wi-fi (after checking out) while we were waiting for our transport.
We stayed 2 nights and were offered accomodation in the renovated area of the hotel in a spacious family room with a beautiful sea view. Large bathroom with massive shower and separate bathtub. Kettle and espresso coffee machine. Excellent location with walking distance to the city centre and main attractions. Friendly service in all departments. Good breakfast with a wide variety of fresh products. Presentation could be improved. The hotel, as the city of Palermo has maybe seen better times in the past.
