I stayed for a 4 night stay in this hotel in September and found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and hospitable. Upon arrival I had recently suffered a knee injury and they straight away offered to give me a room on the same level as the reception that was accessible via lift so I didn't have to use the stairs. They were always available to answer any queries and provide us with assistance. The hotel itself was in a great location only a few minutes walk from the central station (great for the airport coach) and also within walking distance of all of the main attractions in the old town, no more than around 15-20minutes from all of the main sites. the room we stayed in was pleasant and clean with air conditioning and a small balcony with a table and chairs. The breakfast in the hotel was delightful, not just your typical continental with a lovely selection of fresh local pastries, bread, cheese, salami, yoghurt and fruit. The hotel also offered a great deal to get to the Mondello beach with a coach picking us up from outside of the hotel and access to a section of the beach with a parasol and beds. I would highly recommend staying here for a city break to discover the beauty of Palermo. thanks to all the staff for helping us throughout our stay.
The hotel is good with a nice buffet style breakfast with pastry options, cereal, yoghurts and cannoli, although it varied a little each day. The coffee was great! Our room had a balcony overlooking the street which was really nice to be able to use. It is opposite a Lidl which is good to go and get snacks, drinks etc, especially if you miss breakfast. The wifi was poor and could be improved.
The hotel is in a very good location to visit the town. The staff is really very friendly, helpful and welcoming; they can manage the access by car in the ZTL area, where the hotel is located. Nice and clean room with great breakfast! Absolutely recommended.
The hotel is located in a great spot , easy to reach and near the historical, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, the only thing I would suggest is to add a minibar to rooms to keep some cold beverages foe when you return to the hotel
Just returned from a few days in Sicily ,,stayed at Hotel del Centro .. must say the we had a great experience . friendly staff .very central . clean room , good B fast .. I would stay in this hotel again when I go back to Palermo .
Short walk from the train and bus station and within walking distance of the shopping area and hop on hop off bus routes. Hotel is in an old building on the second floor with a lift. However it is not suitable for those having mobility issues as their are about 5 stairs to get up to the lift and a lip on the main security door to climb over. It is on the main road so some noise in front rooms but other rooms great. Rooms are large and comfortable with updated bathrooms. Air conditioning was noisy and could only be used with the light switch on. Breakfast was a good variety of foods and fresh coffee. Good view of the main road from the breakfast balconies. 24 hour concierge service is available and staff were very friendly.
We had one of the "econony" rooms which was great. Nice clean room with a fresh smell. The hotel is in an old very well kept building which gives the hotel a lovely character. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The location is great, walking distance to literally everywhere.
We got off the overnight ferry from Naples and arrived at the hotel at 7:30 am and check-in is normally not until 3pm. We knew we could store our luggage and come back for our room at a more reasonable hour, but we were dying to shower, rest up and have breakfast. So, we asked the nice man at reception about the possibility of checking in 8 hours early! He checked his screen and said "no problems". That's Sicilian hospitality! We love everything about Hotel del Centro--location, service, cleanliness, breakfast and value. We'll be back.
Stayed here with a Korean friend for a few nights sightseeing around Scily. Amazing city and was pleased with value we got for the accomodation. My whole trip cost jut £140 for 5 nights inlcuding flights in April. Very sunny and enjoyed meeting a local band in the pub opposite who took us around Palermo in their cars after the venue had not got its licence in place. Brilliant locals who were just very genuine. Mondello beach was on a par with Caribbean beaches. Only problem is the wine which is so cheap we polished off many a bottle and first night came back to hotel at 5am to find we couldnt get passed the huge wooden door lol.Thats until a passing local showed us it was a door embedded within a door. Youll soon figure lol. Also had a noise problem due to high heels on marble floors in hotel, and opeing of shutters on windows which creaked crazy at 5am, so we got a few wall knocks from next door lol. Head to the local market and see the amazing selection of fresh fruits, vegetables and spices. They let you try everything and offer vacuum packed su dried tomatoes and the like to carry home without plive oil everywhere, for just a euro! Fab island and we headed on to Catania for another 2 nights too although we never actually mde it to mount etna due to the hangovers....
Stayed here on vacation in October 2016. Unlike the other review mentioning to not accept "Room 33", I actually liked "Room 33." It was a smaller spiral staircase to a loft bedroom, and a smaller bathroom below. It's in the back, away from traffic of Via Roma. Being just me, it was acceptable. If my wife was with me during this visit, I'm sure she would have enjoyed it too. Overall it was a great experience. Hotel is close to the train, bus, supermarket, street markets and attractions. ATM is close by also. Niccolo was great, and the barista makes an excellent cappuccino. Staff speaks english well and can assist with tourism, if needed.
