We stayed in this hotel prior to joining a guided tour of Sicily and we were very pleased with our choice. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and check-in was speedy. Were we provided with a map of Palermo and asked if we needed any help with getting to attractions. Our room was roomy, the bed and pillows were very good, and the bathroom was quite nice for an older, but well maintained hotel. There was lots of hot water for showering. Breakfast was excellent and there was lots of choice. As a bonus there is a supermarket directly across the road from the hotel. All the sights we took in before we joined our tour were no more than a 15 minute walk from the hotel, so the location was very good. Book directly to get the best rate. This is not a Hilton, but provided great value for this price range. We would stay here again.
A very lovely and traditional hotel perfectly placed just a short walk from the station. We arrived a little early but that wasn’t a problem. After the usual formalities we were shown to our room and we were soon relaxing. We’d taken the shuttle bus from the airport and were dropped in Via Roma but the better thing is to get off at the station and walk the short distance back. We never quite explored as fully as we
We stayed 9 nights in this hotel in a spacious room. We liked the avaibility of the staff at the reception. They gave us excellent advice for excursions. The two ladies serving the breakfast were very nice. Concerning the location, if you plan to visit sites by train or bus, it is very practical because it take 5-7 minutes to go to the train/bus station. You can also walk to historical districts of Palerme.
We stayed in Hotel del Centro for one night before a tour and found it met our needs with no issues. Clean, friendly staff and located near the train station. The street that it is on is a very busy one and central to Palermo's tour sites. There are good restaurants to walk to and the hotel is surprisingly quiet at night.
The helpful and friendly welcome set the tone for our holiday at the Hotel del Centro. The room was exceptionally comfortable (and with good comfy beds) and quiet too. Breakfast offered a good range of cold meats with cheese and a really good range of tasty croissants and yoghurts and fruit. The location was perfect with the Royal areas of the city within a short walk and also the artistic quarter on the other side of Via Roma. I would definitely return again to this hotel and it is a pleasure to find good old fashioned customer service still exists.
this place was possibly a 3 star 30 years ago. By today's standards not so sure. Basically you get a room with a bathroom that was tacked on decades ago. I'm not sure the bathroom has been updated since. I suppose it's functional but it is awful. The air-conditioning is controlled by the front desk so you call him when you're too hot and too cold. The beds are very narrow. Not a full (modern)single I suspect We've paid for two nights but we're out of here tomorrow. Let's hope we get a refund.
Due to this being an old hotel, we had a much larger bedroom than I was expecting. The bathroom was adequate, like most Italian bathrooms in Italian hotels. The hotel was very central for Palermo, not far from the central station. Staff very helpful, booking restaurants for us, etc. Breakfast, coffee made for you and good pastries and yoghurt, meat and cheese, etc. For a three star hotel it was very good value. Palermo is an amazing place, very reasonable to eat out and the ice cream is truly amazing! Visit Brioscia. Wonderful place to visit.
Don't be put off by the approach which is an unmanned entrance hall and an ancient elevator. But once up to the second floor the reception is friendly and fine. Our room was a beautifully tall- ceilinged room, but spoilt by the necessity to cram in an en suite shower room. Electrics were extremely ancient with only one socket with a large number of adaptors. But all was clean and it's really conveniently positioned. Breakfast was good with excellent coffee but they really could improve it by offering fresh fruit.
I stayed for a 4 night stay in this hotel in September and found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and hospitable. Upon arrival I had recently suffered a knee injury and they straight away offered to give me a room on the same level as the reception that was accessible via lift so I didn't have to use the stairs. They were always available to answer any queries and provide us with assistance. The hotel itself was in a great location only a few minutes walk from the central station (great for the airport coach) and also within walking distance of all of the main attractions in the old town, no more than around 15-20minutes from all of the main sites. the room we stayed in was pleasant and clean with air conditioning and a small balcony with a table and chairs. The breakfast in the hotel was delightful, not just your typical continental with a lovely selection of fresh local pastries, bread, cheese, salami, yoghurt and fruit. The hotel also offered a great deal to get to the Mondello beach with a coach picking us up from outside of the hotel and access to a section of the beach with a parasol and beds. I would highly recommend staying here for a city break to discover the beauty of Palermo. thanks to all the staff for helping us throughout our stay.
The hotel is good with a nice buffet style breakfast with pastry options, cereal, yoghurts and cannoli, although it varied a little each day. The coffee was great! Our room had a balcony overlooking the street which was really nice to be able to use. It is opposite a Lidl which is good to go and get snacks, drinks etc, especially if you miss breakfast. The wifi was poor and could be improved.
