So, a colleague asked me, do you here write a positive comment about hotels. Look at my profile and you will see I do!.....but the Namba Oriental hotel was horrendous! Paid for an extra night so I could check in early (0600). Checked in showered came back and they didn’t clean the room. How do I pay for a hotel room and not cleaned at all....Charged me tax that I had already paid for..... and the product is old and worn out! They need to appreciate the customer and not the almighty yen! Learn to provide a non manual only service and accommodate to the consumer. To the management.....your team needs some training.

Traveled with family, 1 yr old baby girl and an 8 yr old boy. I think choosing Namba Oriental Hotel is the only plans I've made that works to get through our deviated plans throughout our 12 days stay in Osaka. I have planned to go USJ, Kyoto, Osaka Castle, and even a day trip to Hiroshima as the hotel is so close to the transportation. But no, baby girl tends to poo poo right before we step out of our hotel room. Our boy will go grumpy and insist to go shopping. Both will take 2 hours to mobilize and we also have to wash baby bottles and poo poo smelly clothes. My sightseeing plans have to scrapped completely and move on to Plan B and this is where the hotel's location works. Walking distance to Den Den Town, American Town, Namba Walk, Namba Parks, Shinsaibashi, Takashimaya, and of course, Sennichimae, and lots more it's like a shopping jungle. There is a shop that teaches kids and adults to do fake display sushi etc called Design Pocket, Portrait store that do drawings for kids and family all within 1 minute walk from hotel. Tons of restaurants and street food everywhere and our favorite toys shops - Mandarake, Book-off, Jungle etc. Back to the hotel itself. The rooms are bigger than the average hotels around the same price point. we've stayed on 8th floor, window facing the city, it's only 9 floor tall building so you don't get to see a great deal but good enough. Water is strong and hot enough. beds are nice and comfortable. Not much channels to choose from on the TV but we didn't care. We've used our own WIFI egg but there is a free WIFI offer. They also provide a free internet mobile thingy for you to take out but we didn't try that as we might loss it considering we have 2 kids to take care of. The lobby doesn't smell of cigarette as they have some air purify machine running 24/7. We didn't do the breakfast as it's rather expensive and no where near as exciting as just walk outside and try one of many udon restaurants / Maccas etc. We did try a shabu shabu restaurant called Nagi which was heavily advertised in the hotel leaflets and was very disappointed. Overall we will pick this hotel again as we can simply go around shopping, walk back to hotel put our bags down and go out again for dinner. beats taking your luggage around and when you have kids, you really need a hotel nearby to take a rest as it's very exhausted. They even helped us to book a huge 7 seater at the end of our trip to the airport, cost 22,000 yen but since we have done way too much shopping (4 luggage 3 boxes full of toys etc) it's worth it. they even have their staff to help taking our luggage to the back of the hotel. Yeah, will do it again. Price is reasonable considering if we were to stay at luxury hotel the cost would be this accommodation plus our shopping expenses.

We found this hotel to be clean, quiet and so central. There are many good restaurants within walking distance and a very easy walk to the train as well. A great start to our first time in Osaka. I would highly recommend staying here.

Centrally located in the heart of Namba with so many dining options within a stone's throw away. Transport is within easy reach from Namba station, just make sure that you take note of the escalator/elevator if you have luggage as not all station exits have these. Air-conditioning cannot be controlled and we've ended up opening the windows, can get quite chilly at night if you forget to close them. Breakfast is additional and can get quite pricey. As you are in the heart of Namba, it can get quite tricky if you decide to have dinner at one of the local restaurants due to the sheer volume of people.

Excellent location!!!Centralised..Kuromon market,Dotonbori,Shinsaibashi & for muslims Halal food/restaurant is all in walking distance.Free handphone (Handy) for the hotel guest was great & helpfull. No pocket wifi needed if u stay in this hotel. "Handy" is there to assist u. Room space is quite small but acceptable for the centalised location hotel.

This hotel is located very conveniently near shopping malls/streets and Namba Station. We took the Nankai Rap:t Limited Express from Kansai Airport and it took us only 35 minutes to reach Namba station. From Namba station (North Exit), it was about 3 to 5 minutes walk to the hotel. Hotel lobby unfortunately was reeked of cigarette smoke but overall, it was still quite bearable. (Hope that the hotel staff could do something about the cigarette smoke at the lobby). Hotel rooms were big with toiletries provided. (No body lotion though) Beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. To go up to the hotel room, we needed to go through two levels, i.e. firstly, we needed to go up to the 3rd level (hotel reception) and then, went through another lift lobby in order to go up to the rooms. We find this rather inconvenient. Overall, our stay at the hotel was good and comfortable, as the location was very near the famous Dotonburi and Namba Walk/City shopping. Restaurants and food eateries were plentiful around this area. We love the Ichi-ran Ramen which was opened 24 hours near the Dotonburi. This is probably one of the best ramen we've ever tasted.

The whole family of 4 went into a well furnished room... beds were comfortable and plenty of power points to recharge devices. Lawson just downstairs ...easy to get water ... and so was a hoshino coffee outlet... The Italian restaurant below was so good I went twice ...! Japanese name so I can’t find it for review ... there is a discount if you show your namba oriental door card !!

* Inside a shopping arcade right next to a Lawson and surrounded by restaurants. * Very, very near Dotonbori, a couple of Ichirans (amazing tonkotsu ramen!), and Namba Nankai airport railway. * Near Namba walk that's connected to the subway, as well! * The lobby and the elevators look old and smell like cigarette smoke, but the room we chose (one of its more modern ones) was impeccable, had complete amenities and was clean. The tub was big, and the room was big for Japanese standards. It even had a Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine. I'd love to stay here again!

Stayed five nights in the superior deluxe triple room. The room size was bigger than expected. The beds are comfortable but the pillows lacked support. The hotel provides a phone with data plan in the room for guests to use during the stay. However, there was no safe deposit box in the room. Safe deposit box is only available in the reception upon request. In terms of location, it was great! There is a Macdonald and Lawson just beside the hotel. There were lots of shopping streets, eateries and slotting machines. About 3 mins walk to Ebisu- Bashi shopping street that leads to Shinsaibashisuji and Dontobori. 1 min walk to Namba walk and 3 mins walk to Namba city. The hotel is about 5mins walk to Namba subway station and about 3mins walk to the Nankai station where you can take the airport express. Will definitely stay in this hotel again when I visit Osaka.

Booked a superior twin for 3 persons. We are a family with two kids 11 and 7 years of age. Room space is just nice for our three luggages. Had to move around some furniture to open them halfway though. Location is superb but.... there is a but and maybe the most important thing that is disappointing.... WIFI. The wifi is horrible. So don’t expect smooth Whatsapp or Facebook usage....
