Namba Oriental Hotel

Located right in the middle of a shopping alley, there are many choices of food. Convenient stores (Lawson), Bic Camera all just "next-door". You could bring back your shopping bags, dropped the bags in the hotel room and go back out to shop/eat again. But because we drove, it was not that "convenient". We have to park our car in another building instead of dropping off our kids and luggage at the front of the hotel (like how most hotels are designed). Parking was 1300yen per 24hrs - have to "exchange" parking ticket at front desk daily. The walk from the parking place to hotel took about 5 mins. We are family of 4 and checked into a "triple room + extra bed". The beds are comfortable and we all slept well (maybe we were too tired after so much walking) :) The room was not spacious (especially since we added 1 extra bed). We had enough space to open 1 luggage at a time. But I supposed the space will be good for a group of 3. Minus the extra bed would make some difference. The bathroom/toilet was clean and “functional”. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room anyway since we’re out mostly. So the space and amenities were acceptable. Though the hotel is in the middle of the busy alley, we didn’t hear any noise from our room. That’s a good thing. However, there’s a strong cigarette smell at the lift lobby and inside the lifts. That’s probably one thing we disliked about this place. Overall, I’ll rate this as an average place to stay in Osaka.

We like the location and the quietness of the hotel. It is in the heart of commerical shops yet so quiet when pass through the lobby. The central courtyard was great and gives you a feeling of fantasy world especially with their Christmas decoration. One thing is the lobby is so smelly with cigarette .that's a big minus point for the cozy feeling hotel

Being located in the centre of plenty of food, cosmetic, and convenient stores, Namba Oriental Hotel was a great place to stay at. Although the room was smaller than expected, we did not stay in the hotel 24/7 and spent the majority of the time exploring the city (and others) so it was the ideal place to rest and recover for the following day. There was also an unpleasant cigarette smell in the elevators and main lobby area as you enter. However, it's a short walk to one of the main attractions of Osaka: Dontonburi, and also conveniently located near Namba Station and Nippombashi Station: Perfect for traveling to other places such as Nara.

Located right in the hustle and bustle district Namba/ Dotonbori, this hotel is unexpectedly comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our 4-night stay there. The location is good and it's like within few minutes walk from hotel to the major shopping districts for tourists. Also it is convenient to get there by Nankai Train from the airport too. Check in/ out was smooth and the front office staff are very helpful and they borrowed a plug adapter and offered us late check out. The environment is clean and neat. They must have used some sort of multiple panes window glasses as we could hardly hear the noise from the street and we had good sleep. Would recommend this hotel to tourists who love to stay right in the heart of shopping districts.

The location was excellent. We exited from Namba station and was able to find the hotel based from the hotel pictures suggestion. My hotel room was not that big but was comfortable for the 3 of us . (2 adults + 1 (13 year-old) kid). The mattress was comfortable. We have a good night sleep for the 3 days we have. Location was good, as we are about 7 mins away from Dotonburi or probably Glico man and are surrounded by shops every corner we went. Guest services staff were polite and can speak english. We will definitely come back here again!

Stay for four nights! Good location nearby eatery and stores ! Also Lawson n McDonald's is just around the corner ! Room size is considered big for Japan standard! Only problem as always is the smoke smell on the ground and lift ! Maybe it's the languages barrier we requested to be near the elevator we were given room away from the the elevator! When we check in the on duty officer is too professional that all our requests are refused! Too cold treatment!

Namba oriental was our go to hotel in Osaka. We like the fact that you are 5 mins away from dotonburi and are surrounded by shops that are 24 hrs open or closes late. We have mcdo and lawsons right beside it and is very close to Dogusa Suji. Aside from that they have a few more plus. Beds are comfortable unlike swissotel. They have a more comfortable bath tub and they now have a smart phone similar to marco polo in hongkong. What was dissaponting was the strong smell of smoke in the lobby. I thougjt it was addressed already last time but now its back. If you have asthma or respiratory problems I do not recommend this hotel as any smell of smoke can trigger an attack. I informed fron desk but he dis jot even answer anything or apologize. Also when requestwd if there was complimentary the day we were about to leave, i was indormed since we only stayed overnight we cannot have free water. I think that free water should be atleast be part of good. Ustomer service. The person at front desk who answered my call was rude also and said it in a rude manner. This makes me think about my next trip in Osaka.

The location is excellent. Exit Namba station and walk towards B21 exit(underground mall). Take the escalator up, Big camera is on your right (means you are at the right exit). Walk all the way straight and the hotel is just ahead. There's a mac donald and Lawsons mart nearby. Plenty of eateries around. Also just 8-10mins walk to Namba Glico man and the rest of the attractions. Hotel wise, service was good. They will try to help you as much even though they may not understand English very well. Room was clean. Will definetely reurn to this hotel the next time i am in Osaka.

Great location , near subway , near shopping and walking street.. great british bar in hotel.. So much food , different restaurants in the area .. easy access to several Malls. Near a canal with both rides!!! Too good

Namba oriental hotel is located at the heart of shopping area. There are a lot of shops & dining places around the hotel. It is a few minutes walk to Kuromon market, Takashimaya, Dotonbori, Glicoman sign, Shinsaibashi, Den Den town,Namba city and Namba Park. Transportation connections were excellent. It’s really close to the Nankai line Namba Station accessible from Kansai airport. Just a 3 mins walk to subway namba and nippombashi stations. also close to kintetsu line for nara and 10 mins walk to Jr line to kyoto. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Wifi Internet in my room really slow but other rooms are fine. Housekeeping staff & Front desk are good service and nice. Will stay here again in my future visits.
