Hotel Granvia Osaka

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Located in the Osoka train station, this hotel was convenient to local shopping, transportation and restaurants without going outside.

have stayed at property 5 times during past travel. service has always been great. check in during our recent travel was very slow, ended up with one key that worked and other didn't. trainee was polite and tried but was very slow

Room seems small but its Japanese standard size for business hotel grate location for the price. Nice and clean anywhere we go

Hotel at very convenient location, right next to Daimaru (major shopping department store) in the center of Umeda shopping district in Osaka. Very friendly staff. We arrived early (before check-in time), they stored our luggage for us and luggages were all already delivered to our assigned rooms when we returned. Overall clean and nice room, though as expected in the central location of Japan, rooms are pretty small and not too spacious, but clean and cute with good amenities.

Very easy to find the Hotel in the Osaka Station. Granvia floor is the way to go, provides great view of Osaka, with floor to ceiling window. The bathroom, vanity are beautiful, lots of room for bathing and dressing. The staff on the Granvia floor, are over the top with helpful information on where to go, how to get there and tips on the best places to eat. Excellent Housekeeping does a really good job. You could use Osaka Station as a destination. Food and shopping that you'll find no where else. Hope to return someday !! Domo Arigato , Mahalo, Thanks Hotel Granvia Osaka !

This hotel is in a great location....close to everything, especially train station. So many good places to eat, shop and explore. So much to see, do and eat that there's not enough days to take in everything! Room was rather small and not enough room for even two normal size luggage....TV we had was also very small....our friends in another room had a bigger one and their room had nicer carpet. I think we were in one of the 'older' rooms...we also didn't have a nice view out our window....only a view of the other rooms. Nice hot shower though!

Staff friendly. Room spacious for two. Great location.

well the room that we received did not look like the pictures you have on-line and the one on there website. there was no floor to selling windows. and it didn't look that modern to us like the pictures they have online. but on a good note the location was great easy to get places, right in the Umeda station. totally stay there again but they need to up date there photos

I think if you had a concierge service rather than going to the front desk it would be helpful. The staff on hand was good and courteous. I would definitely return to this hotel. Convenient to the Umeda station.

The hotel room was tired and old. The carpet was very stained and dirty. The bedspread looked old. There was a hot pot for tea. The bathroom was clean. The room did not smell of smoke. When asked for extra pillows we got them. When I pointed out the offending carpet, with photos to the manager he said he was sorry.

This hotel is located right in the Osaka Station. Very convenient. The things I didn't like was that we had two pillows, one too hard and one too soft, almost flat. And the bed next to the window was hard as rock! Also, the neighbors had children and we could hear very well through the walls.

The hotel is at a great location, and all the staff are very nice.

We stayed on the 27th floor (Granvia floor). It was outstanding. It has a separate concierge and exclusive entry off of the elevator. I highly recommend this floor for a wonderful experience. The amenities are exceptional and the floor to ceiling windows offer a spectacular view of the city. The bonus is that you actually check out on this floor. They will hold your luggage until you're ready to go. The hotel is actually located above Osaka train station with a huge, modern, upscale shopping complex. Very nicely situated. There is no large lobby for this hotel since the hotel really doesn't start until the 19th floor, but access to trains and the heart of the city more than makes up for this. You check in at ground level. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. We stayed at this hotel because a few years ago we stayed at the Hotel Granvia in Kyoto and had a similar experience.

Rooms were a bit small and dated. Location is great right in the mall and easy to get to from JR and subway trains

I had a really great time staying here during my trip to Japan! It's very convenient as it is attached to the JR station and I was able to sleep in as long as possible. The staff were super nice to me. I booked last minute when I was already in Osaka so I was very happy to get somewhere so convenient.

Hotel location is so convenient that when we arrived midnight, we immediately found the hotel after disembark bus. Staff was nice to give us free upgrade as all non smoking rooms were occupied. The 3 nights with the hotel was so good.

Nice location at the JR train station. With that being said, everything is very easy to get to from this hotel. Nice shopping mall under hotel too.

Location is the best of Hotel Granvia Osaka .....just above Train station ,lot of restaurants ,surrounding with big department stores ....

The good: The location is very convenient, and the room itself is clean. The bad: The hallways are dirty and dark, the windows are inoperable, the TV is 15 (at most) and the fixtures in the room are from the mid-1980s. I do not understand how this place is listed as 4 stars. The worst: Do not assume that you have booked a non-smoking room! I booked a semi-double room, which was not listed as smoking. Upon arrival, I was offered a smoking room. When I asked for a non-smoking room, the staff offered a smaller non-smoking room at no charge, or the option of upgrading to a non-smoking suite for an extra 20,000 yen per night. Perhaps the norms about such things are different in Japan, but I feel misled.

Being in the train station is convenient. Very busy hotel, but the rooms on upper floors are quiet. Wifi speed was good and connected easily.
