Location was great in Dotonbori but room was kinda tiny. While they didn't offer housekeeping during the 3 nights we were there, they did leave a bag with fresh towels and robes every morning which was a very nice touch. It's not a hotel to rave about but it does the trick, is affordable, and super convenient.

Too much outdoor noise

Hotel was nice but a little too close to all the crowds of people and it gets really loud at night. If you’re a light sleeper i wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

All is good except they should have a waiting lounge on the lobby or have a few chairs for people waiting to check in. What if the person checking in are PWD or elderly? But all in all we enjoyed our stay and definitely will come back and stay in APA Hotel! They are very affordable!!

This property is just outside the busy area of Dotonbori but is still very close and just near the walkway along the canal. Many convenience stores just outside however late a night there are many noises from people leaving Dotonbori

Very nice interior, and in a great area, but the room is just super small. Difficult to even get things out of your suitcase. That's fair though, given the great area and the good price.

The hotel is in a great location for a decent price. They didn’t clean our room. We asked, and they just put the comforter back on the bed but the sheets were not changed. The bed was also crooked and tilted so I had to place a pillow in front of me to not fall out of bed. There was also no working fan in our room so it was HOT. We had to sleep with the window open, and the noise prevented us from getting great rest.

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but my experience at this APA Hotel warrants one. The staff here were completely unhelpful and apathetic. As a paying guest, I expected at least basic assistance, but every time I asked a question—whether it was for directions to a restaurant or help calling a taxi—I was met with the dismissive response, “No, we can’t help you.” This level of service is unacceptable, especially from a large and reputable chain like APA. I’ve stayed at other APA locations without any issues, so I can only assume this poor experience is due to the hotel’s location in the heart of Dotonbori, a chaotic party district. If you’re visiting this area, do yourself a favor and skip this particular APA Hotel. There are plenty of other hotels nearby that will hopefully provide better service, cleanliness, and hospitality—something this location severely lacks.

Comfort in familiarity

APA offers consistency in their amenities and comfort. No frills and fulfills it's function as a room for rest and safekeeping. Check out time of 10am is slightly earlier than the usual norm. Overall it's a good hotel that offers familiarity and I'm a fan of that.

Basic

Basic small to Midsized hotel between Namba and Shinsaibashi stations (Shinsaibashi sta was easier to navigate with luggage via Daimaru Dept store escalators). The Room was small as expected, but beds and pillows were not as hard as some Japanese hotels. The breakfast buffet was average with a mix of Japanese and western style dishes. Breakfast area was small and seating uncomfortable (like they wanted you in and out quickly). Only 2 washers and dryers for all 200 rooms, but found a cheaper coin op right across the street which I ended up using. Most annoying thing with this hotel was there wasn’t any seating area in the lobby. When faced with tiny hotel room sizes, i find it nice to have a relaxing lobby area. Another thing that irked me was the only non-Japanese TV channel was BBC News which had the most annoying broadcasters who just repeated the same 3 news stories all day and night. Note The hotel other APA Shinsaibashi (non-Nishi) is on the same street (a half a block closer to the station) and was bigger…did not check it out, but thought it could offer more/better amenities like an actual lobby and a more comfortable breakfast area.

I spent 7 days at this hotel and really enjoyed it. I'd previously read about the rooms being small, so I knew what to expect (and that didn't bother me). Everything else worked perfectly: shower, wifi, AC. The minibars and microwaves are very convenient. Super clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay again.

Very convenient location at the end of dontonbori, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk within 5 minutes. Also within 10 minute walk to the subway station. Comfortable room that APA hotels are known for, perfect for a weekend getaway.
