The property was small but I felt safe. The staff was so concerned about not bringing anything to drink on to the beach that wasn't purchased from the property, but getting a waiter/waitress to bring us drinks was near impossible. One young waiter (dirty blonde hair, no shoes) spent time watching a soccer game on his phone instead of seeing if any customers wanted a drink brought to their beach chairs. The female manager at the restaurant was nice and so was the young lady that got us our coffee, bread, fruit, etc. for breakfast each morning. The people at the reception desk were awesome and extremely accommodating. Having a nurse that came to the hotel to give you a covid test was a huge help. There is no ATM machine where you can get cash at this hotel - you have to travel off the property. We rented a car. It only cost us $12 in gas to travel to and from the airport and around the entire island. Hotel breakfast is included - we were NOT told that upon arrival though. You will need a plug adaptor for phones, blow dryers, etc. The hotel has them. I recommend buying a case of water. Most restaurants we ate at charged for water - no glasses of water for free. The food was EXCELLENT on this island. We did not have one bad meal. A day trip to St. Barts is pretty inexpensive, but you will pay a lot of money for food and shopping on that island. Very pricey! It was 90 degrees and breezy each day we were there. Request the bottom floor for your hotel room.

This property is one of the nicest hotels on Orient Beach. The concierge is absolutely amazing and handles any reservations you might need. They also set up the rental car. Very communicative. Email worked well. I’ll stay here many more times.

Staff was extraordinary at the front desk. Just pleasant and professional but friendly.

The hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was amazing, and the service was excellent. Big thumbs up to the team.

The in unit kitchenettes were amazing. The staff was awesome! Jimmy, Carol and Damian made the trip!!!

My wife and I were here a few times before the hurricane. Hadn’t heard much regarding hotels, beach, and restaurants in the past 2 years. The LaPlaya on Orient Beach was beautifully remodeled. Everything is new from the padded and elegant branded beach chairs to the rooms were in perfect condition. The beach was as beautiful as ever, and still is the best beach anywhere. And the restaurants in Orient Village are better than ever. Even though Club Orient isn’t there any longer, there is a great small restaurant with excellent food (try the ribs) and bar which everyone really enjoyed. More hotels are being worked remodeled, but LaPlaya was tremendous, and we will be staying there again soon. The staff was excellent! We weren’t sure what to expect, but wanted to put money back into the local economy. But much to our surprise the island is vibrant, welcoming, and recovering nicely. They are ready for you.

We had a fabulous stay at La Playa. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing beach vacation. We loved having the complimentary breakfast right on the beach every morning. The beach was just gorgeous. We also liked that we could walk to the little town for dinner every night and had a handful of excellent restaurants to choose from. It's a simple place for the perfect relaxing vacation. The wait staff was incredibly friendly, and Damian went out of his way to get our son his favorite (sugar loaded) cereal every morning!

This is a beautiful property in a fantastic location. Rooms have just been renovated, so they are modern, clean and well designed. Bar could have been kept open a tad later (closes at 5PM), but otherwise no complaints and will certainly return next year.

The rooms looked brand new. There was a kitchenette that included a stove with cookware. There is an open window between the bathroom shower and the room area so you should be staying with people that will see you shower. There was a continental breakfast included but that description isn't accurate. While the breakfast menu is limited, it is cooked for you and served in the dining area on the beach. Or was much better than a traditional continental breakfast.

Everything was new and fresh, grounds were meticulously kept and immaculate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I can not recommend highly enough!! We enjoyed everything about our stay!

The location (across from beach) & size of the room is perfect! The small kitchen is useful. Area is perfect - one street over to grocery store, restaurants and beach. NOTE, the hotel was still renovating, including some rooms. Also when in early July 2019 when I was there, some sea weed in the ocean & on beach (morher nature the cause). On my last day, the open air restaurant opened with a new food truck kitchen -- 1st time Ive seen something like this on trave...l. The only positive about the breakfast is all you can drink coffee. The scrambled eggs were like Soup - yuke! They include breakfast, but go somewhere else for breakfast. My favourite breakfast and beach spot (no sea weed & caribbean side) is in Grand Case at a lovely boutique hotel - Le Tenps Des Cerises Jean! Be sure to rent a car at the airport - taxis is super expensive!!

We loved everything about the La Playa Orient Bay. The redecorated rooms are stunning and the view is even better. The kitchenette with stove top, fridge, and microwave was awesome. It comes fully stocked with plates, utensils and pots and pans. The location is great with lots of restaurants nearby. The entire staff was super friendly! We will definitely will be back!
