We were disappointed to find out the bathrooms were shared bathrooms. At check in we asked to please cancel as my husband has a bad back (after 3 surgeries) and needs time at night to relax in a tub, but they refused at the desk. I asked if they could please call their manager and explain the story, after asking a few times the person at the front desk finally called but was quickly turned down. We went up to the room and it was ~87 degrees and all they had was a small desk fan running. We asked if we could switch rooms to a cooler side but they just offered us another small fan. The room was still hot at bedtime, and we were sweating. The bathroom had poop stains and worn sinks, not great for $~200 a night. The mattress was HORRIBLE. I got about 3 hours of sleep total, and my husband got ~1. Would never stay here again. Very disappointed that they wouldn’t let us cancel as it was still plenty early for them to rent the room out to someone else instead. We’re exhausted and my husbands back hurts so bad that we’re just going to drive back home. We’re now missing Astoria, the entire reason we did a four hour drive, and going home because of this horrible hotel. It’s not a hotel, it’s a hostel with horrible service.

Good value and location. Didn’t mind the shared shower and bathroom set up as it was easy and still offered privacy. There are sinks in the rooms so that was good. The only issue I had was that there was a lot of noise on the street, from drunk bar patrons to early morning trash pickup. And also another guest was blasting their music early in the morning.

Luxury experience in a classic setting.

The space served its purpose, it was very expensive for what you get. The rooms are tiny and the front office staff leaves at 10. They ask you to lock the front door behind you and both times we came in at night we had to argue with drunk people on the street about letting them into the building. For $175 a night a full sized bed with a shared bathroom and those situations was less than pleasing.

The price was right, I slept well, breakfast was good.

Lovely and quaint hotel, just wish there was Air Conditioning. SW corner had a great deal of Sun and the room got quite warm.

Cute hotel with lots of personality and a great room. It's well situated and we had lots of restaurant options nearby. The only complaint was that it was hot and there was no place to put the fan nearby.

It was a rainy March night, but we ventured out to check out the happy hour scene in Astoria. Went first to Baked Alaska, which has riverfront seats all around and an amazing pizza special at happy hour. Then to Voodoo Lounge where they say it is always happy hour, and they pour giant glasses of carefully chosen wine for cheap. Then to Fort George Brewery, where everyone in town seemed to be hanging out - great design, great space, but not into beer. Bring your rain boots if it is the rainy season!

This is our third visit and we are always so happy to be there. The facilities are excellent and the wifi is strong. The location is very central to the waterfront, eateries, galleries, and stores. Strongly recommend this hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we got a complimentary glass of local brew as we checked in. The lobby is cool and quirky; you can borrow records there to listen to in your room. Our room was pretty bare-bones with old hardwood floors, which we liked--it got us thinking how we could live a simpler life at home. It was nice and breezy in the afternoon, but the old building did warm up a bit in the evening sun. We had an ensuite room. It was very clean. We had a little trouble figuring out how to get the water to come out of the shower head, though. We had a tasty breakfast in the attached cafe in the morning. The hotel is well-located in the center of town. If you're looking for a neat local hotel with some character--rather than another franchise chain hotel experience--I'd highly recommend the Commodore.

Hello and thank you for the feedback. We understand that this is an older building and we try our best to limit the noise in the building by providing white noise machines and earplugs. Stay safe and happy travels!

Thanks for the feedback! Alas, we aren't able to add AC to our repertoire at the moment. We do have fans available upon request--they can certainly help cool and move the air around, but they aren't AC. :(
