The Duke Hotel Newport Beach

$33 nightly parking is outrageous. Other than that, staff was friendly, rooms are very comfortable and clean. It is very close to the airport not the beach. Is within a business area so you have to drive and explore

Executive suite should be called a junior suite. The hotel does not offer double bed executive suites orbits states it does but it doesn't have that option. Bathroom was nice but very small "living room" and older furniture

The location was convenient for a party we attended. The accommodations and staff were excellent. The downside was the hotel offered valet parking only for $30.00 a day. Guest parking was $12.00 for the 1st hour and $18.00 for each successive hour. No continental breakfast was offered. Otherwise, our experience was first rate.

Comfy pillows, nice TV, wonderful view. Valet only parking seemed a little unnecessary

Beautiful hotel, rooms and pool area. Friendly helpful staff.

This was recently a Fairmont property, now a Marriott owned hotel. In an area that is mostly business offices, so not really 'walkable'. Short distance to Fashion Island and UC Irvine. Room was spacious. Pool and hot tub were fun. Fitness center was nice too. Citrus restaurant was ok for dinner (only seating was in bar).

Hotel staff were extremely rude. The concierge told my friend they would be a disgrace to the Marriott and would get her fired. All because she asked what her room number was and she had been drinking? Sounds weird but that's all she did and she had an attitude and threaten to call security because she had a bad day. Need to find more friendly hotel staff.

Nice after our 1st room check-in. The hotel could use a cleaning in the corners etc. Carpet hallways. Room carpet etc. Amber was very nice for our Friday evening hotel dinner experience Not complaining here just what I experienced and observed Food was very good and surprised. Staff was very nice at the check-in I liked the hotel

I really like this hotel. I was surprised at how nice it was. The staff is friendly, the food is pretty good, the pool is awesome, the rooms are nice and beds super comfortable. The complete turn off is the fact you cannot self park and $33 is insane for valet. I paid less in San Francisco! Both times I got my car from valet they had forgotten about me and I stood there with my 3 year old (guys, I think we know how that goes) for 5-10 minutes waiting for our car that was literally 50 feet away. The valet staff is very nice! But the service gets 2 stars.

Everything was wonderful...beginning to end. Staff was helpful.. valet to housekeeping..easy chevk in and check out

I really enjoyed this hotel stay. The hotel provide access to their swimming pool, spa, and gym room with no additional fees. It also has a good size restaurant to provide a wide selections of American cuisine. There is a bar for those who like cocktails.

This hotel has nothing to offer and will charge you for every little thing they can find to get your money. They would charge $32 per night for valet. We asked the Valet guys if there is parking outside so we can avoid this $32 charge, he then said there is none around. We were tired and just arriving so we took his word for it. We also asked the front desk about street parking and he said that there is none nearby..The next night, we decided we would check for ourselves and we found street parking right across the street (near Jamba Juice)! FOR FREE. We didn't even try hard to find parking because there was parking everywhere! I'm livid because two of the hotel staff lied to us. They got us for valet parking the first night but we parked in the street the other 2 nights. The morning that we were checking out, they slipped our receipt under the door. I found they charged us for valet parking for THREE NIGHTS. We only used their valet for ONE NIGHT. They need to regulate their services better because how did they charge us for 3 nights when we only used valet once. This hotel is ridiculous. They also charged us $20 for one Black Label neat. And it was the smallest pour ever. We also had to get our rooms switched because our neighbors were up all night making a scene! UGHHH. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Required valet parking and not free wifi. A business hotel.

I have contacted the general manager with the following email to which he never replied : I wanted to let you know of our recent experience at this hotel, because it was so horrible and not in par with other Fairmont properties we have visited in the past. My family and I are accustomed and familiar with Fairmont properties, and even had our honeymoon at the Hawaii Fairmont. I still think you should be made aware of all of the things that went wrong during our stay. The worst part was on the day of check out, they decided to cut down trees right under our room, and we were awoke at 7 am, during our vacation, and I had to deal with a sleepy cranky toddler all day. The noise did not stop for a good 30-45 minutes. The executive suite we stayed in was almost the same size as the junior suite ( when we paid extra to have more room), the AC units were so loud, there was food in the hallway from other guests that stayed OVERNIGHT, the pool area was dirty, but was dirtier was actually under our bed in the room. Before we left, I wanted to make sure I did not forget anything of my toddler and so I looked under the bed . It was so repulsive, and clearly had not been cleaned for quite some time. I even took pictures, in case you would not believe me. Our room was room 324, and I urge you to take a look under the bed , it was and probably still is nasty! twice we were told we would be served , and twice ( little before 11 pm), a serve came up and told her it was too late!!

Nice hotel, but does not live up to Fairmont standards. And grossly overpriced for the experience. Convenient location to airport, but not an ideal setting for travel. Walking distance to nothing.

Close to everything. Only thing I didn't like was that all they had was valet parking which they charge $32.00 a night for

Hotel was nice and it was close to everything. My only negative is that adding the valet and Internet fee adds over $50 a day which seems extremely excessive in my opinion. The pool and gym were very nice, I just thought the added fees for valet and internet went overboard and caused me to lower my score to a 3.

Got tree sap all over my car and I had to get it washed.

It was just ok! We expected way more from a Fairmont in terms of location. It was more of a business hub for flying.

Staff was wonferfully attentive and the hotel is clean and quiet. Cannot find anything to complain about, wonderful stay.
