Friendly staff, good breakfast and close to the beach and restaurants. A big plus that they have a pool. The rooms were not exactly what we expected but it was ok. We stayed two nights and enjoyed our stay.
I must say it's not what I was expecting from reading reviews. I was greeted with a pleasant welcome an smile from receptionist, she was very nice she check me in also introduced me to spa.. room was very cool and clean . Breakfast was good from chef but he was very dirty his pant pockets was very gross. I met another chef the other humble and clean. I would visit again.
This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I stayed here not through choice, but because our original hotel had being double booked in error unfortunately. Firstly, on arrival, the female receptionist staff were incredibly rude and ignorant to myself and to my friends, and it seemed a huge hassle for them to do their jobs and check us in. They started arguing with a friend of mine who they did not allocate a room to, despite us reserving a set number, claiming they were 'full, so tough'. Our room had no electricity working on arrival, and our en-suite bathroom was locked from the inside. Upon asking the female reception staff for help, I was greeted with complete disrespect, eye-rolling, and tutting. Our shower broke on our second (and last) day here, and our toilet did not flush (this happened in 2 other rooms too). Our pillows and bed linen had brown stains all over them. Our curtains didn't meet in the middle, so our room could be looked in on from the public corridor. The headboard of the bed had broken off and was not attached to the actual bed. The rooms could do with a total make-over all around!! The pool was completely empty on arrival at the hotel - despite this being spring break and the hotel being 'full capacity'. Both mine and my friends rooms (there were 14 of us) could hear music and base at a ridiculous volume until 2-3am both days. The breakfast only offered one option, which wasn't great, but the waiter was a friendly and polite man (the only member of staff who was actually smiling and helpful). Luckily Jamaica is a fantastic country and we had a great time in Ocho Rios despite this horrid hotel!
The staff was courteous and friendly but the hotel needs some sprucing up. The corners of the pool have dried bird droppings and some paint splashes and nobody has tried to even clean it up. I would also suggest they get the lounge chairs or tables with the shade. The rooms had rust on the tiles and in the bathroom. The shower head needed to be replaced because only a trickle of water came out of it even though there was a high water pressure and it made showering uncomfortable. It also needed additional parking because by 9pm the parking lot was full.
The best thing about the hotel is the location and the employees were nice. Otherwise it really could use a remodel. It isn't being kept up. The pool is broken. Looks like it has been for a while. My room was okay. They advertise free wifi in the rooms and it worked off and on in my room but I heard other guests complaining about no wifi at all. The water pressure is very low and sometimes it would completely shut off. Watch out for the overhead structure beams in the parking lot. Head knockers.
Our rooms were facing a pub and the noise was horrible, we couldn't sleep until 1:30 am. The toilet was broken. Breakfast was OK. The location is good. To sum up, too expensive for the service they offer. I wouldn't recommend it.
The hotel is disgusting and the staff have bad attitudes the stairs from the front desk to my room were filthy in need of a good mopping with bleach , my pillows had yellow stains on I asked for new ones and they brought me new pillow cases the only good thing about this hotel are the housekeepers very nice and polite and the air conditioning units I think they spent all their money on the a/c and have none left to clean this dirty hotel i am still here I have to stay the night I will be sleeping on my own towels I am dreading breakfast in the morning
Hotel from the beginning was advertised on booking as having kitchenette in all rooms. Clearly wasn't so. After stressing inconvenience to mngr. She kindly changed that. Receptionist were all horrible. Very unfriendly and rude!!!They acted as if anyone asking questions was a problem. Those girls need to be fired or just quit if they don't like their jobs.👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼. Room was a spacious studio type. The power was out the first day and we waited almost 1.5hrs for it to be restored. The running water was horrible. Don't run the tap water in the kitchen if ur gonna take a shower. N God forbid ur neighbor taking a shower while u r... Housekeeping was polite. Felt safe leaving my belongings in the room while away. Parking needs help . They have a teeny tiny lot that u have to have somewhat superb parking skills to accommodate all the guest cars. And the killer wifi only available in the lobby. No wifi in rooms. Then the stovetop was so lopsided. Only 2 burners were working. Very slow.... Only polite staff was the parking attendant, the cook, housekeeping and mngr. Most reviews say they had only egg n toast. But one morning I actually had ackee and salftfish (JA national breakfast) and the option of toast sausage and eggs. By-the-way if u dislike loud music at night while trying to sleep , don't stay. Club on left and lounge on right. Although I believe the music stop playing around 2/3am. Plus side .love the convenience of supermarkets on the same block and the proximity of the town .and must say grounds/environment is kept clean.
went in April 2016. was very quite in hotel, not many guests. overall hotel was maintained and cleaned, smelt nice, staff were friendly with good manners. room was basic with lots of storage. first room our toilet flooded, we had a rubbish shower that gave no hot water, floor was dirty and sandy. and we had cockroaches.. so a nightmare!! no money off!!! we asked to changed rooms which they allowed, took their time getting keys and that room was okay, shower still not great, slightly run down and we could hear loud music all evening until we went out just after midnight so many may not get a great sleep. may not be hotels fault just unpleasant as we couldn't have a nap. so be aware of the noise. security is good and safe, nice man on the night shift. breakfast was tea, egg sausage toast... very nice. overall stay was stressful but okay. pool was dirty, had dead animals and layer of dirt. not many sunbeds out but could be time of year.
Located in the center of the town, so in walking distance to shopping plazas or craft market, the beach and restaurants. (Locals are willing to show you cookshops and bars to hang out.) There is a club near the hotel, I could hear the music from inside the room most nights, especially Friday/Saturday nights. The music was different every time, so if you want to Party you can either go to the venue or go up onto the Hotel's balcony with a few drinks take in the people and music( bug spray recommended.) Or lounge by the pool. The standard sized rooms are clean with enough space to move about in. The bathroom was about the same size in a 2 bedroom apartment! Bigger rooms have a kitchenette available. The staff are are friendly, courteous, helpful and just all around nice people. Talk to Lawrence, he does a little bit of everything at the hotel. Housekeeping was awesome. Though the hotel is spacious, it's still small enough that they know you by face and will eventually know your name.
