If you are in need of a space with ample room for small events with family, friends, or business associates, this is it! This house was designed as a family home where sharing and togetherness are valued. There is sleeping space for seven, with a private bath in each bedroom. There is also a covered patio at ground level where meals or meetings can be enjoyed, either in the heat of an Oaxacan afternoon or cool of the evening.
The home is located in the popular neighborhood of Jalatlaco, where you will be a 10 minute walk from the center of the barrio. There you will find a charming walkable area with a generous selection of cafes and restaurants. You will be a five minute walk to Mercado de la Merced where you can enjoy traditional Oaxacan meals at one of several Fondas. If you want to prepare your own meals in the house kitchen, the mercado has an excellent selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. You will be a 15 to 20 minute walk to the Zocalo or central square of Oaxaca de Juarez.

Refugio review
First, we had a lovely time in Oaxaca. The place was in a nice location. We stayed for seven weeks and remote worked. The wifi was excellent. And best of all was the property manager, Uriel. He was exceedingly attentive and always with good humor.
What didn’t work was that the place was very hard to keep clean with just a canvas canopy over the cement floor. The noise from literally 20 dogs in one house two houses down, the two roof dogs next door, and the incessant loud music on the other side keep things lively for sure.
What’s clear is that although we had lots of fun, we were disappointed with this place and realized after comparing our place to other places, ours was overpriced for the value.
