Awful safety protocols and terrible aftercare.

The room opposite to me had a major incident on the morning of Saturday 8th March. I was awoken in the morning to shouts of "fire", along with an intermittent fire alarm. I had to rush from my room into a smoke-filled corridor and then out onto the street. I stood with the other hotel guests, with no direction on where to stand, or any sign of a hotel-fire-marshall, for around 45 minutes. When they did appear, their megaphone did not work, so the crowd could not hear what was being communicated. This situation lasted nearly 2 hours whilst the fire service and ambulance attended the scene. The guest in the opposite room was eventually wheeled out of the hotel by the paramedics and taken to hospital. Meanwhile, we were allowed back into the hotel but hotel communication was to a minimum and they never told the guests what had happened. I only found out through repeated questions to the receptionist, that the guest who had gone to hospital had smoke inhalation and it was not a fire. The aftercare was awful.I asked for a phonecall from the hotel manager, two days post-event and was given a time window for the following day between 9-5pm to expect the call. When I spoke with the manager I was still given no explanation for what happened (I was actually advised to read about it in the press, where I learnt it was a faulty air conditioner) and my experience and concerns for future visits were minimised. After using this hotel for the past year, I do not intend to stay here again.

Overnight stopover

Just a one night stop over. Room alot smaller than looked on website , cramped in comparison to other hotels have used Poor outlook , just luck of the draw i guess with that Limited wardeobe space Shower leaked badly from corner and flooded bathroom Bed lovely and big and comfy The hotel itself lovely but not impressed with room , would not stop again due to this sadly

The location of this hotel is excellent for arts and socialising. Bars, restaurants a plenty. The staff are all friendly, helpful and very polite. The car park is right next door with entrance to the hotel on floor 2 The food was delicious and the housekeeping excellent. We're having a fabulous stay

Excellent city centre hotel

Good hotel in central Nottingham, with onsite parking. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Bar area is lovely. Huge selection of breakfast options. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly welcome, smooth check in (used to be hotel receptionist so appreciate that all the more). Comfortable room with everything I needed - extra heater did make it a tad hot but OK once that off (woman of age with internal heating). Slept so well I overslept. Food at all conference events was great as was service. Slight issue with shower head pointing the wrong way and spraying the floor - operator error). Quick swim and steam refreshed me - had I not overslept, would have been down early doors. Noise from Rock City was not unreasonable - couldn,t find the suggested earplugs though - and I never go away to do the ironing - but a welcome addition.
