Very nice stay at this HIE. Room was comfortable enough and staff was friendly and helpful. A little odd that you have to go to the front desk to get ice and the bed it starting to get a little worn, but over all a very nice place to stay in SAP. I would recommend it.
The worst hotel experience in many years. This Holiday Inn Express is at best is a USD 65 hotel and no more. The actual per night room cost was USD 200 (room and taxes). This high price does not merit serving breakfast on plastic dishes and cups on the most uncomfortable chairs ever made. The coffee, a Honduran staple, was stale, acid and too not drinkable. I bought coffee at a restaurant next door. The room was spacious and the bed and pillows comfortable; the only redeeming items. However, with two air conditioners going the noise does not permit sleep. Turning the air conditioners off the street noise was extreme due to the lack of noise abatement windows. The $1 shower head was terrible, and counter space in both bathroom and room were not there. The safe deposit box installation is such that a regular height person must use a chair to put ítems in and take them out. The construction finish of the room is of the lowest quality. I took time to discuss with the manager on duty who responded: "Everything you have pointed out is standard service items in all Holiday Inn Express hotels worldwide." Personally, I beg to differ with this statement since other in Buenos Aires and Santiago have superior standards. I guess that staying at a Holiday Inn Express in the future is out of the question 100%.
HIE - San Pedro Sula Stayed one week for business. Met my expectations as a business traveler hotel with no unpleasant surprises. I was in room 601 at the end of the hall in a corner room and the WiFi was a bit spotty at times. I think the problem could be easily solved with an extender. Suggest better plastic cutlery. Something that does not bend. No restaurant in the hotel but the coffee shop off the entrance actually has quite good food for a coffee shop. Ten times better than nay Starbucks food. probably ate three lunches and three dinners there over the week stay. My colleagues used the pool and fitness center and said they met expectations and were adequate. Overall a good stay and I would recommend to those that do not need or want all the amenities of a full service hotel.
Spent one night here, it is well located, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the rooms are comfortable. It is strictly a business hotel, so don't expect a fancy restaurant or family activities and ambient.
Located at the beginning of avenida circunvalacion (SPS' live street) this hotel seems almost half price from nearby hotels. The rooms are good size, beds are comfortable. If possible ask for a room with a view of circunvalacion as it is really nice. Complimentary breakfast is ok. Only small complaint is tv in room is too small for room (32" maybe); and no restaurant for room service but may be because of the "express" chain. There is a small cafeteria there and a friendly helper can take the food to your room if asked. All in all a good choice.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last year and a half and have always received top notch service. I am a spire elite member and ALWAYS get a free room upgrade without even asking. The hotel staff always goes above and beyond to ensure my stay is comfortable and very relaxing. I have recommended this hotel to my colleagues and they as well have all had great experiences. The only improvement I can give is I like to workout and lift weights and they do not have a big selection but I still manage to get in a good workout. I will be staying here again and again as I travel ALOT for my job.
Overnighted at the Holiday Inn Express San Pedro Sula twice (coming and going). Very polite and helpful front desk staff. They helped us arrange a taxi to and from the airport which was helpful expecially since we don't unfortunately speak Spanish. Taxi was $30 US and they will take credit cards if you ask. Takes about 20-25 minutes to/from the airport. Ate a quick breakfast at the free breakfast buffet and it was decent. The menu choices are a bit different than what we are use too staying at a HIS in the US and Canada but it's nice to try the local food. Clean well appointed guest rooms, brightly lit hallways and elevators. Beautiful lobby and nice pool area. Not sure how safe the area around the hotel was as we didn't venture off the property but 2 shopping malls within a few minutes walk and a ton of restaurants and eateries in the area. Would stay again if we needed a overnight stay in San Pedro Sula absolutely.
I've stayed at this Holiday in several times traveling from the US to Roatan. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff helpful. There's a nice pool and gym on site and it's within walking distance of Mall Multi Plaza and the City Mall.
I find it pricey for an old standard worn out hotel. They gave me a standard suite at the 9th floor (the only one available), so I imagine that the street noise was not going to be a problem. The room was clean, standard layout, two double beds, wood and carpet, two things I do not appreciate in todays hotels. All the furniture was outworn; the only modern thing was a flat TV set. The air conditioning was so old, that sounds like a railway engine all night and has only two settings, extremely cold and noisy, or just very noisy and only circling air (hot). But that is not the oldest thing at the room, the bathroom, was the worst, old rusty fixtures and dripping water shower. They do not offer room service, nor have a night restaurant. So they have this booklet of delivery restaurants around and they tell you that if you do not want to go out, use the booklet to get food. I call to order sushi. Mistake. Worst sushi ever. There is something special and positive about the room they gave me, it has a big window with a great view to west part of the city, you could see the mountains and the startling light of the street at night. After dinner (not so good sushi) I was admiring the window view and suddenly started some kind of street motorcycling racing, and the starting line was exactly below my window, the sound was so loud that I couldn't hear the TV unless I raise de volume so loud it compete wit the outside race noise. Never mind it stopped about 11, then I slept like a baby. At morning I checked the include breakfast, not worth it, went out for breackfast. US$180 + taxes for that room felt too expensive. Fortunately the hotel staff was very helpful, gentile and it was just a one-night stay business trip.
This is a very nice modern hotel in a good location and the complimentary continental breakfast is very good. My only complaint is that the restaurant is very good but very pricey. After eating there once, we headed across the street to eat or went to the hotel near the shopping center to eat.
