Traveling down south and stopped here around 10 pm. We had a coupon for a rate of $79 which was reasonable for this hotel. Check in was quick and front desk person was very nice. Found the room to be clean and the beds comfortable. Decent breakfast in the morning, and quick check out. When traveling would stop here again.
After a long day of driving we look for a pool and hot tub to unwind. This hotel had a very warm indoor pool and a very hot tub. The rooms were large and clean. The bed was comfortable. No elevator. The free breakfast was good.
Driving from upstate NY to VA Beach, about 540 miles. It was time to stop and regroup so I picked this place and was not disappointed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Having the Denny's in the same parking lot was a plus!
This hotel was so bad and the employees didn't seem to care. Our room had black mold in the bathroom and rain was pouring inside...I don't mean being blown through the window but I mean literally coming down the wall and pouring all over the a/c unit. I went to the front desk and told them and they just wrote it in a book, said they were trying to get the mold issue taken care of and that maintenance wouldn't be in for another hour. Thankfully we were checking out and my word to the hotel is YOU DO NOT RENT ROOMS THAT HAVE MOLD IN THEM PERIOD!
This hotel is as it is advertised, no frills, nothing fancy, a clean(ish), quiet room, with comfortable bedding and basic amenities. Check in was easy. The hotel was fully booked, and I arrived late in the evening but the woman at the desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The first room she gave me was a "former smoking room." The hotel is all non-smoking, but some of the rooms used to allow smoking, and they did not do a great job of getting the smell out. You really need to rip the room down to the studs to get the odor out, and at best they deep cleaned the carpets. I went back to the desk and she was able to put me in another room. This one was free of any odor. The room was spacious, with a king sized bed, two person sofa, desk area, flat screen TV, bathroom with shower (it was a handicapped room, so I had to put a towel down to prevent the water from getting all over the floor, but that isn't the fault of the hotel, its just how most handicapped showers are designed). The sheets were clean and there were plenty of fresh towels. The rooms were about 3/5 on a level of cleanliness. There was no obvious dirt, but there was some grime on the shower head which smelled a little musty. Housekeeping did not make the bed or replace the towels, though I was in the room during the normal cleaning time in the morning, so they may have rushed through it later in the day. The bed was fairly comfortable, firm and not lumpy. There was also an AC/heating unit in the wall that kept the room at a nice comfortable temperature. The free breakfast was adequate. For a quick bite on the go, it was fine. Hot eggs, potatoes and sausage, toast, cereal, and fruit juices (from concentrate). The coffee was generic but hot, and freshly made. Overall it was a nice place to rest up between activities or rest for the night. I could not hear my neighbors which was a big plus. The Holiday Inn down the road seemed a little bit nicer, but as it was booked, the Comfort Inn was a nice alternative for a weekend in North East, Maryland.
Been driving all day with my mother moving her to Fla. Was tied and needed a handicap room that they didn't have. But desk clerk desk clerk Evelyn gave us a room right inside the side door and got us the things we needed to make it almost a hdcp room. Got us a chair for shower and just busted her hump to make sure everything was good for us. She is definitely a plus for the hotel as I told the manager the next morning what a great employee they had. Thanks Evelyn for being such a caring and nice person. Jack H
First of all, the sign to direct guests to the hotel needs to be larger. We drove past it and then realized that we had to drive through the gas station and Denny's parking lot to get to the Comfort Inn. We had a King Suite. The room was a good size. The bed had a half wall to separate it from the living room area. The only problem was that the tv was on the dresser at the foot of the bed and it was hard to see it from the sofa. The sink was outside the bathroom so it could be used when the bathroom was occupied. There was a faint moldy smell in the bathroom. Plenty of towels were provided. But, the sheets were average quality. We were locked out of our room on the second day, because the computer had us as checked out. Pain in the neck to go down stairs to straighten it out. The halls aren't air conditioned and there is no elevator. The breakfast is nice. Plenty of options. Although, it ends at 9:00 so don't over sleep. There is water and coffee in the lobby all day.
Just pulled off the road and took a chance. Was NOT disappointed. Rooms were comfortable and spacious with free wifi. A great breakfast offered complementary in the morning. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
We spent one night here on a trip north. We did have a problem with the died bolt not working. Of course I didn't try the lock until we had gone to dinner and unpacked and settle in for the night. I reported the problem and in a very short time Natoshia Walters came to the room to check out the problem. She offered us another room and helped us move and made sure we were all settle in. He son was ready to be picked up from a sport thing but she made sure we were taken care of first. Other staff members were very nice also at check in. Both rooms were very large and clean. Breakfast was good, they have a nice pool and hot tub but we didn't use it maybe next time and there will be a next time.
Stayed in this hotel for a family wedding 20 minutes away. Overall, hotel is very clean and staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Place is a little dated and there is no elevator (only two floors, but hard to bring up luggage). Rooms are big and has plenty of big-hotel details. My only issues were the obvious lack of elevator and the price. I feel it was a little high for where it is (next to a truck stop in a very remote location). The staff in them hotel make all the difference and brings it to a much higher category than it is.
