Check in was easy and pleasant. Room was clean, nice large bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, a nice variety and prepared well, with ample seating in the breakfast room. We only stayed one night but would return to this location in the future.
Front desk staff very nice but - rooms tired not pleasant smelling difficult heating/cooling half pillows - yep not a real pillow in sight not great beds entire area sold out so we had no choice I'd look to new close by options if you have the choice
Stopped here on our way home from a New England road trip. The room was clean and reasonably quiet. A complimentary breakfast is included with your stay. The hotel was not expensive so for the price we were pleased with the quality of the facility.
A couple of years ago we tried to stay here; arrived at 10PM to discover that the only room they had for us was a smoking room, despite the fact that we reserved a non-smoking room. We drove a half-hour to stay somewhere else. Because the property since became all non-smoking, we thought we'd give it another chance this time. Mistake!! First, we were told that there were no more rooms on the first floor. And that there was no elevator ("But we're building one!" the desk clerk said....) When I explained that I'd just had surgery and couldn't lift luggage the response was, "I'm sorry but that's all we have." No move to help, or get someone to help us with our bags. Just a painful trek up the stairs. And then the room: though we reserved a king, we were in a room with two queens. That was, thankfully, rectified by the desk clerk who brought us new keys (thank you!) and was sniffing in the hallway because "people still smoke." As anyone with a nose could tell. Lots of people, it seemed. After she left, a man came careening down the hallway, obviously drunk, having just checked in but not being able to figure out how to read the numbers on the doors. Big clue for later in the evening. We had to call the desk at 10, 12 and 2 or 3 in the morning because of drunken people raving in the hallway outside our door. Now to the room: first, the design is poor for a couple who may not have the same bio-clock. The sink, instead of being in the bathroom, is across from the bed. So if one person has retired for the evening, the other who may still be awake cannot use the sink or turn its light on without waking up one's partner. Odd, and a pain. Bigger issue: smell of old smoke in all the furniture. Apparently when the motel went "No-smoking" it didn't toss the stinky couches, etc.from the rooms formerly occupied by smokers. Or maybe they have so many people who cheat and smoke in the room anyway that they just keep stinking up the joint. And: the switch on the base of the light beside the bed had been smashed, so the light did not work. The tray holding the ice bucket had cigarette burns. The bed was fit for a monk doing penance for a lifetime of sins. The cleaning person neglected to clean the sink counter or replace our (glamorous plastic!) glasses. And last: the window was so filthy that we could write "clean me" on it before we left. Never, ever again. If you stay in North East, go to Holiday Inn Express.
First when checking in someone was asking the cost of a night. They were quoted $20 cheaper than what I paid online but because I reserved online they couldn't change it. Quick easy check in. I was on first floor on second half of building. As soon as I got into the second half there was a slight smell of what reminded me of wet laundry that sat too long. I went into my room and it was spacious and seemed clean. The Kingsize bed was on a very low pedestal that would make it hard for an older person to get out of bed. I went to get ice and the plastic bag you use had a long hair in it. The sink had a small piece of food left in it.
You can usually count on comfort inn to be comfortable, and get a good breakfast. This place has a scimpy breakfast, one day sausage, next day none. The lady that keeps the breakfast area clean , sprays windex while you are eating, spraying the serving spoons for the eggs, nothing like inhaling ammonia while trying to eat, for a hotel this size, there is one waffle machine, frozen pastries and a toaster that doesn't toast. If you are allergic to pets, you are out of luck, they allow pets here. The building is under construction which was not on the website. There was a Buick car show and race locally, the parking lot was full of trailers and race cars, drunks sitting outside the main entrance all night. All in all, we will be staying at Holiday inn or Hampton inn next vacation.
When checking in, the front desk staff was not rude, but they weren't friendly either. There is no elevator, so if you are traveling with kids and all their things then the flight of stairs can be too much. The front desk says it is "only 12 steps" Ok, it may only be 12 steps, but when you have to make multiple trips with all the luggage, it is not fun. My wife and I and our two kids were weary after a long day and upon getting to our room, I noticed a cockroach in crawling around in the sink. No, I didn't report it, or tell my wife about it since I didn't want to have to switch hotels at this point. I also noticed that above the toilet paper holder, there was a mysterious brown stain that looks like someone smeared used toilet paper on the wall. Gross. The carpeting had areas of gum or some other ground substance in them that stuck to your shoes. My wife was skeeved out by the whole place (remember she didn't even know about the cockroach) and had us out the door by 9:00. All other Comfort Suites we stay we request a late checkout, enjoy the breakfast etc, but this one she had us out and early. It seems like the front desk knows the place is a dump and don't even bother to ask how the stay was or anything like that. All in all, this is a good place if you don't expect much from a place. It felt more like camping here though considering the bugs, dist and grime. Maybe there are nicer rooms available, but the one we were subjected to was nasty and we had even made our reservation months in advance. Never again.
Visited the hotel for a week in June for a fishing tournament. The hotel and staff were very accomodating to us.It was very warm and the a/c worked great. Rooms were tastefully decorated and no issues in the room itself. Parking lot could have been bigger with the adjacent grass area they had with the parking of the boats but I realize they do not have a ton of boats every weekend. One night hosted a group of drunk construction workers but couldn't really hear them. Breakfast was great in the morning. Clean hotel. One staff member was on her laptop most of the time and not very cheerful. The hotel is right next door to a Dennys and Flying J truck stop for gas and quick stop items. Overall a good hotel and would stay here again for sure.
Like a number of other reviewers, I chose this place for a quick overnight to break up a long drive -- Washington, DC to West Point, NY, in this case. Got there late, tired and frazzled, got a warm welcome and a lovely room, and an average complimentary Continental breakfast. The omelettes were better than run-of-the-mill scrambled eggs, though, and the Danish pastry was fresh. Very comfortable room, everything worked, absolutely no complaints. I could see coming back for a weekend getaway some time. Certainly I'd return for a stopover like this one.
Traveling down south and stopped here around 10 pm. We had a coupon for a rate of $79 which was reasonable for this hotel. Check in was quick and front desk person was very nice. Found the room to be clean and the beds comfortable. Decent breakfast in the morning, and quick check out. When traveling would stop here again.
