Good sized rooms too, though bathroom a little cosy. Great location few steps from the promenade as well as what the city has to offer inland. Food good, but as ever the management and staff team are what make a place and the Windsor is fortunate in that regard. For the money 5*, recommended without hesitation.
This hotel was in a great location an easy 10 minute walk from the promenade. We reached the promenade by taking the bus from the airport, which cost just 6 Euro. The bus trip is around 10 minutes too. We got a friendly welcome, and my poor French wasn't needed as the staff spoke excellent English. We chose the hotel as it had a pool. We originally booked another hotel but changed our minds, as coming here for our honeymoon we wanted somewhere we could choose to relax if we didn't fancy exploring. So we paid more for this hotel specifically for the pool and requested a balcony room. However, there wasn't a balcony room "in our pay grade" available which we had to accept. No exception was made for our honeymoon! But I don't expect anything for nothing! Our biggest disappointment was the small pool. It was either all or partially shadowed all day, including the lounges; our hopes for some sunbathing dashed! This is because it is in the middle of some nice gardens, but the growth of the shrubs and trees overshadow the pool. Maybe they could trim them back to let the sunlight in? The room was chic, and large - no complaints there. No bathrobes though which would have been nice. As the room (room 15) overlooked the garden, it tended to be quite noisy early morning as people sat eating breakfast or later at night when people were sat in the garden talking and drinking. We didn't eat at the hotel, as there are so many nice places to eat just minutes from the hotel. Nice is a wonderful place, and we will certainly return. I'm not sure we would choose this hotel again, but as I say, there is nothing wrong with the location, room or staff.
While visiting Nice we were fortunate to have dinner in this beautiful garden at the WindsoR Hotel. What a delight it was! Entering the hotel, it is full of very interesting art. Then to the garden with all its beauty and all the birds. Very elegant, yet simple. The manager, Jeroen, was so personable and warm. He made us feel so comfortable. Our servers were most attentive and our food was delicious. Definitely recommend and definitely will return. Thank you to all for such a special evening.
A really excellent understated luxury hotel in Nice, right in the heart of the action. Staff very helpful and all the restaurants were within a short walking distance and the beach a stones throw away. Used the nearest car park on the Promenade Des Anglais as it is the cheapest. As usual an excellent trip to the South of France and even the incident with the circus dwarf at Nice airport will not put me off visiting again, real soon
Really enjoyed this hotel. Very helpful staff and in a good location. Breakfast was a highlight very simple but delicious and served in the garden. We also went to beach club which was fun and only a short walk away.
This is a unique, smaller hotel in a lovely, convenient neighborhood. The garden is an especially nice treat. But the most exceptional feature of all is the staff. Every one is friendly, willing and able to help you with any aspect of your stay. I got several ideas for good restaurants open on Sunday evening. I was also graciously given a later checkout time to accommodante scheduling a massage. Absolutely outstanding customer service!
This was my fifth stay at the Windsor and it's still my favourite. Located in the centre of Nice, but an oasis from the city with it's beautiful tropical gardens and art installations throughout the hotel. We stayed in two different rooms, the first, a twin room had surprise sound installations in the wardrobe! The second, a double room, had a beautiful red beaded installation hanging from the ceiling. The beds were super comfortable and delighted to see the welcome addition of a kettle in the rooms. The tropical garden is beautiful, a welcome shady retreat from the heat in the summer.
I visited nice this month and after a long search I decided to book a room in hotel Windsor coz I love art and I loved how original its.. once we arrived the stuff at reception offered us orange juice and gave us all details that we needed.. during our whole stay every member of the stuff was helpful and always smiling.. one small detail when we arrived we were surprised that we had to carry our bags to get into the hotel because it's not located on the street level and there is no place to roll the bag so get ready to some sports!! The room that we stayed in was designed by décoroy a very funny artist it made me laugh how he written names to describe the rug the mirror ... well yes there is no mirror inside the room the only mirror we used was the toilet small mirror!! We didn't take the breakfast in the hotel because all around it there is lots of restaurants so why not try them all !! The hotel is near shopping areas stores and 5 minutes walk to promenade des anglais. 15 minutes walk and u ll be at the train station.. only one small Remarque I hoped if the sheets were changed during our stay not remained the same the whole 8 days ! Except this I would like thank the whole Windsor stuff for the great stay and for the smile they always gave to us.. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and I ll surely come again.. thank u sooo much from Lebanon with love ❤️ Nissrine
My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Hotel Windsor Nice in late-July. The hotel is truly wonderful! First off, it is very artistic and funky, in a good way. Second, the garden is absolutely spectacular -- whether reading and napping, or eating and drinking, it is a peaceful escape from the noise of the city. Moreover, the location cannot be beat. It is surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants and, more to the point of coming to Nice, is a 5-minute walk to the beach; 10 minutes the in other direction is the Nice Ville train station, which is a major transportation hub. For example, Monte Carlo is about 20 minutes away. Add to all that the very professional, friendly and English-speaking staff (the latter being of specific benefit to me and my wife) and I cannot recommend this hotel enough!!!
My sister, brother in law, husband and myself spend a long weekend at this hotel in Nice at the beginning of June. What a little treasure it was - close to the sea from and many lovely restaurants to while away our weekend. The hotel was quite small but all rooms were decorated in a different style which was interesting. The outside are was also small but adequate for breakfast, coffee or an evening drink. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather whilst there and spend time exploring Monaco - we took a boat trip from the harbour - and a lovely train journey to Cannes. I recommend both the hotel and Nice as it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.
