I would have rated this little hotel good rather than average but didn't have the choice on TripAdvisor. Starting with the positives - a very comfortable bed, decent shower and a real plus was the little pool in the tropical garden, which was very refreshing after a hot day sightseeing. The fact that they have a few spaces for parking was also a real bonus and I would recommend asking for one in advance if you have a car - the cost per day is 19 Euros. There are a few little extras they could have done to make this stay even better. Coffee and tea making facilities already in the room and complimentary bottles of water would be good, taking into consideration guests who have travelled a distance to get there, plus it's simply a necessity. Also good concierge advice costs nothing but is an excellent bonus. We were handed a map at check in, which was very good and some guidance on where things were, but when asked where is good to eat we were given a very generic answer, which didn't help us. There are hundreds of restaurants in Nice, many serving overpriced mediocre food so it would be good to know about some little hidden gems. Overall a good stay but some room for improvement.

The room we had was called le cerf et le licorn which had a whimsical mural of a stag and a unicorn & the furnishings were 1930s inspired. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning very welcoming for the heat of Nice. We had a small balcony which was enough to dry our swimwear on and the room was always clean and tidy. The food there was delicious too with good sized portions. The pool was nice and serene, it is unheated but if you go at certain points of the day it really doesn't need it as the sun does it for you and the reflection of the lighted moon mural is beautiful at night. The staff were friendly and attentive and can't thank them enough. The only drawback I had was I had to call a member of staff to let me out to see the sunrise at the Summer Solstice, but that is not something that would affect most people.

The hotel is in a very bad shape. We had the Venice room. And Venice was drown. The breakfast was made of soluble coffee, frozen croissants and plastic ham. (14€/person) What a dissapointment! Cleaning lady came in without knocking... Mould on the shower.. if this should represent a 230€ room/night (without breakfast). The pictures speak for themselfs. At least the were honest enough to reimburse 30% of our stay without any resistance. If this was their last not renovated room the should not rent it because claiming you are an ecologic hotel but having leaking taps is not very serious.

The Windsor is a rare hotel. It does not have great pretensions but it is really a jewel in the heart of Nice, only few blocks away from the Promenade. What makes it special are the individually designed rooms, not very big but big enough, with really unusual designs: the staff give you a choice! Next is the outstanding paradise garden with a small but adequate pool: it is the perfect space for the breakfast or just to relax during the day. Next are the splendid staff who really went out of their way to help. The breakfast itself is excellent with a good choice.

What a lovely retreat! The garden area is perfect for relaxing and enjoying breakfast or reading a book. We stayed at the Hotel Windsor on 3 separate nights during our vacation in France. Each room was a little different so there is definitely a boutique feel to this hotel. The rooms were too warm for us at night and we weren't able to regulate the temperature. Bedding was definitely too warm for the summer. We appreciated the gratis welcome drink and helpful staff. There are only 3 hotel parking spots so guests need to reserve in advance. We weren't aware of this when we booked the reservation so guests with cars, take note!

This is a quirky hotel, with unusual décor and interesting features offering sauna and an outdoor pool. Rooms are all different, decorated by artists - we were offered a choice of rooms (we picked a quieter decorated one!). They aren't big but provide a safe and a shower-room. If you plan to be in your room a lot then you'd probably want to ask for one of the larger rooms. Our room overlooked the street which was fine. Lift is very distinctive (also designed) and the jungle garden is lovely for breakfast and evening meal. Breakfast was additional but you could choose express, continental or full. Not a huge range of foods but with the full you could opt for cereal, meats and cooked in addition to the pastries and breads. Had one evening meal there which was delicious. You could opt for a la carte (29 euros) or selection which was reasonable considering they cook from fresh. Reception team were efficient and pleasant and happy to keep our cases in the office after check out (11 a.m.). Located about 10 minutes from the station and the same distance from the beach. Plenty of shops and café bars around if you walk out of front door, turn right and then left at the end of the road. A bit more work needed on the waiting on team both in the morning and evening at times they seemed unsure what to do next.

We loved this hotel; a mixture of modern art and quaint grandeur. 10 minutes from Promenade des Anglais. The garden is a delight where meals are served. The staff were wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be going back.

A very unusual experience for a four star hotel. Quirky, yes, practical, no! They should have spent some of the money used for the Art Deco on bedroom furniture and upholstery. The polystyrene ceilings were a real gem, and sharing the lift with Thunderbirds was a joy!!! The outside dining area was a scene from Indiana Jones, thank you for the water pistol to fend of the pigeons! With no tea making facilities in the room we were looking forward to breakfast and a nice cup of tea.......we had to share a tea bag as it was the last one in the establishment. We must say that the staff were excellent and very helpful but this hotel is definitely an acquired taste!

The hotel is ok, we had quite a small room facing the road, small en-suite but clean enough. Staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English. The hotel is a couple of blocks back from the sea and they have an arrangement with Sporting Plage so you can get slightly discounted sun bed & towels. I would stay here again

We booked at 1.30am on the day before the Monaco GP ! We certainly struck it lucky. Staff were very friendly, hotel is most unusal with every room designed by a different artist. Even the lift was an art-experience of its own !
