Our second stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were as kind and helpful as ever, our room was ideal and very comfortable. The garden is a delight and the location of the Hotel is ideal being central and still close to the promenade, railway station, hundreds of restaurants and shops.
Beautiful old building in a quiet part of Nice, just three blocks from Promenade. Rooms have individual artwork, well furnished, very quiet Friendly and helpful staff with perfect English Garden is the real gem, a place to sit surrounded by greenery, so unexpected in city centre. Pool looked inviting, but not for April!
We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in this hotel. The staff were all very helpful and attentive and we appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine in the lounge which was always available. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Highly recomman itt;
We stayed here on a recent short break and loved our time at the Windsor. We had a pleasant room, with a lovely comfortable bed, enough room to relax after a day's sight seeing. The room was individually decorated, the Tin tin posters on the staircase brought back memories of childhood and the Apollo like take off in the lift was a great surprise. We decoded to take breakfast in the hotel, food was fresh and plentiful, guests and staff pleasant and friendly. We also had one dinner (on my birthday) and it was by far the best evening meal we had on our trip, we were kicking ourselves that we didn't eat there more often. The hotel is well located a short walk from the promenade des Anglais, place de massena, the old town and the station. Close enough to everything you need but not on top of anything. I believe the hotel is family run and everyone we met were, polite, friendly and helpful. I would be more than happy to stay here again and recommend this Hotel to everyone. Merci beaucoup!
It's hard to describe the delightful whimsey that animates this totally professional operation. The property is well cared for and contains pleasant surprises in unexpected corners, like a display of old sci-fi movie posters, or Tintin book covers from long ago mounted along the stairwell. It's more than a gimmick. The service is thoughtful, supportive, and willing to go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Spa was an unexpected plus, too, with an excellent masseuse (Philippe) and hammam (steam room). My visit was in December. Off season rates were very attractive; can't speak for months closer to the summer.
Stayed at this hotel for 10 nights whilst visiting Nice. It is in a very good location, only a few minutes walk from the promenade and other attractions. There are also many very good restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. We loved the art work within the hotel and of course the garden where breakfast could be enjoyed. We also enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel which was excellent and would highly recommend. A special thanks to all the staff at the hotel, including reception, cleaners and restaurant who were always so friendly and polite. On a number of occasions we asked reception staff for directions to various Nice attractions and they always gave their time explaining best way to travel and marking attractions on maps which they issued. The hotel cat was also very friendly! Thank you for a very enjoyable stay and would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to fellow travellers.
Stranded in Nice when our flight was cancelled,we couldn't have been looked after any better than we were by the young man who was on night duty. His English was excellent, the information he gave us was more than helpful and he printed boarding passes for new flights. The hotel had a very high standard of cleanliness and we had a very comfortable night. We would definitely return to hotel Windsor as it had a lot to offer! -Laura & Kieran
Very pleasant stay in this hotel! Staff very helpful, gave us choice of three different rooms to suit our babies needs. Room we chose needed a some general improvement in decor specifically toilet and bathroom. Balcony and garden are amazing. Pool is definitely not heated but a definite plus. Loved the uniqueness of this hotel. Lift is an experience. Perfect location and great restaurants nearby and ideal for train station too.
We stayed at the Windsor for a week in early October, and enjoyed it very much. The hotel was chosen largely because it accepts pets, and we always travel with our little four-legged friend. Alas, she was not allowed into the garden or restaurant, but those are minor limitations. The room was spacious and had a balcony facing the tropical garden, which in itself is a key selling point for this hotel. It is a calm, soothing place to spend the afternoon after a busy day, filtering out traffic noise and replacing it with rustling leaves and chirping birds. Breakfast and dinner hold good standard, wifi works well, staff are friendly and helpful, Promenade des Anglais is less than ten minutes walk away and the art/decoration in lobby and rooms gives the hotel a distinct personality. Try the wacky elevator! An obvious choice for our next visit to Nice.
Don't take a room on groundfloor, they are very very noisy (but have a high price level as well). You will definitly need ear-plugs. Breakfast costs 14 euro, its nice but not worth it. The garden is beautiful and the location very good. Maybe its a good place in Nizza but nevertheless the price/perfomance isn't good.
