It's hard to describe the delightful whimsey that animates this totally professional operation. The property is well cared for and contains pleasant surprises in unexpected corners, like a display of old sci-fi movie posters, or Tintin book covers from long ago mounted along the stairwell. It's more than a gimmick. The service is thoughtful, supportive, and willing to go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Spa was an unexpected plus, too, with an excellent masseuse (Philippe) and hammam (steam room). My visit was in December. Off season rates were very attractive; can't speak for months closer to the summer.
Stayed at this hotel for 10 nights whilst visiting Nice. It is in a very good location, only a few minutes walk from the promenade and other attractions. There are also many very good restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. We loved the art work within the hotel and of course the garden where breakfast could be enjoyed. We also enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel which was excellent and would highly recommend. A special thanks to all the staff at the hotel, including reception, cleaners and restaurant who were always so friendly and polite. On a number of occasions we asked reception staff for directions to various Nice attractions and they always gave their time explaining best way to travel and marking attractions on maps which they issued. The hotel cat was also very friendly! Thank you for a very enjoyable stay and would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to fellow travellers.
Stranded in Nice when our flight was cancelled,we couldn't have been looked after any better than we were by the young man who was on night duty. His English was excellent, the information he gave us was more than helpful and he printed boarding passes for new flights. The hotel had a very high standard of cleanliness and we had a very comfortable night. We would definitely return to hotel Windsor as it had a lot to offer! -Laura & Kieran
Very pleasant stay in this hotel! Staff very helpful, gave us choice of three different rooms to suit our babies needs. Room we chose needed a some general improvement in decor specifically toilet and bathroom. Balcony and garden are amazing. Pool is definitely not heated but a definite plus. Loved the uniqueness of this hotel. Lift is an experience. Perfect location and great restaurants nearby and ideal for train station too.
We stayed at the Windsor for a week in early October, and enjoyed it very much. The hotel was chosen largely because it accepts pets, and we always travel with our little four-legged friend. Alas, she was not allowed into the garden or restaurant, but those are minor limitations. The room was spacious and had a balcony facing the tropical garden, which in itself is a key selling point for this hotel. It is a calm, soothing place to spend the afternoon after a busy day, filtering out traffic noise and replacing it with rustling leaves and chirping birds. Breakfast and dinner hold good standard, wifi works well, staff are friendly and helpful, Promenade des Anglais is less than ten minutes walk away and the art/decoration in lobby and rooms gives the hotel a distinct personality. Try the wacky elevator! An obvious choice for our next visit to Nice.
Don't take a room on groundfloor, they are very very noisy (but have a high price level as well). You will definitly need ear-plugs. Breakfast costs 14 euro, its nice but not worth it. The garden is beautiful and the location very good. Maybe its a good place in Nizza but nevertheless the price/perfomance isn't good.
Stayed for 2 nights and would recommend. Front desk team very welcoming and friendly. Our room wasnt ready as we arrived slightly before check in time but we could store our bags and head out into Nice. The beds were very comfortable with extra pillows available in the room. Air con was very good and silent which meant could happily keep it running through the night. Only criticism of the room was that the bathroom very narrow so difficult to move around but great shower with plenty of hot water. Only soap available so make sure to bring your own shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste. The lift brings a smile to your face as it has a space countdown and lift off sound effect. There are 3 types of breakfast available. We had the Express breakfast of pastries and tea/coffee and it was good. Nice pool and out door seating area - bit of a shame that it didnt have sunny spaces to sit out in as lots of tree cover - would have been nice to use the pool and have sun as well as shade. Good supermarket next door and lots of places to eat and drink close by and a 15 min walk to the Old Town. Wouldnt recommend asking the hotel to organise taxi to airport as it is EUR10.00 more expensive than getting your own taxi. Overall a nice hotel, friendly staff and loads of character.
Room on the top floor over looking the streets, spacious bedroom and bathroom, clean good facilities. Restaurant looked worth trying, there was some interesting art work on display in the foyer. The garden with small swimming pool is a really relaxing oasis in the city. Ideal to cool off, have a drink and read during the hot afternoons. Breakfast room was busy but we were able to sit outside again which is very pleasant
Lovely hotel, clean with nice interior designs! The location is perfect because you are at 2 minute from the sea and 5 to the center! You have to reserve the parking, don’t forget it! All the spa service are on payment. Good breakfast! Good restaurant with normal prices! The personal is really nice and kind!
Really like this quirky hotel , right up my street , beautiful building with classy and individual arty interior . The staff were all lovely , we arrived late having been left stranded by easy jet so booked this at 2245 in the evening and arrived 30 mins later what a treat , too late for food but the reception staff did sat they would ask but we opted for coffee and brandy outside where you dine for breakfast . The lift is brilliant .....Rocket man 💚 Wonderland garden 🌴🌿🌴with shaded pool area .🏊💙 Breakfast was ample with a hot and cold selection . We left early to check into another hotel as this was fully booked so didn't sample the pool but will definitely be back .
