We enjoyed our stay at the Bougainvillea. The room was very clean, excellent shower etc. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also excellent. Would definitely stay here again. Very well situated for travel whether by train, tram or bus.
My wife and I stayed 4 nights, 2nd floor at front, little road noise but slept very well, great staff, clean n funky decor, ample breakfast, good price. It's handy for railway and bus links, good sturdy shoes recommended, we walked miles.
This is a boutique hotel and one that our tour leader had never stayed at before. Logistically, it was difficult to fit 45 of us in the foyer and to use the lifts up to the 5th floor. That aside, our room was spacious with a small balcony and plenty of room around the bed to manage two suitcases, but others spoke of small rooms with little space beside the bed. There was no fridge, but we had a jug. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was good. There was only one mirror and that was in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, but a little overwhelmed when we arrived as their towels were still drying and very few of us had towels until later. Wifi is free and very patchy, needing to log in each time. The location was close to the train station which is great if you are travelling that way, but otherwise it is a 10 minute walk to the beach, and about 20 minutes to the main part of town. It is fair to say that this is an old building, so noise travels easily, both from inside and outside. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you, as we were greeted with earplugs on our pillows. I guess this is an acknowledgement by management that noise can be an issue, and they are doing all in their power to assist clients to be able to sleep well. They also provided some snacks (dates, fruit, Nuts, chocolate and drinks) for afternoon tea/pre-dinner that were very much appreciated and consumed by our group! Breakfast was a very simple continental style and there was quaint seating for around 32. We stayed there for two nights, and at breakfast on the first morning when I asked about provision for my dietary requirements of gluten and dairy free, the staff did not have any special provisions, but took the time to ask what I would like and they would procure it in readiness for the next morning, which they did. They proudly showed me what they had procured, and after breakfast, gave me the remaining packets of bread and cakes to take with me. I appreciate this attitude and generosity, would stay here again. I can see that catering for a large group put a strain on the hotel, but this has not influenced my rating, as the service provided was personal, friendly and generous.
This is a lovely hotel with great staff. The room was comfortable and clean and had all the basic necessities. We had booked breakfast also and there was a good variety of nice fresh food. The air conditioning was very efficient, helpful as the temperature was around 30 degrees C and was warm at night also. It's very close to main train station and also on the bus route to the airport. That was very useful.
Issa check us in and all was magic, room selection note was seen but not set up - some quick research and all was in place. Great "Go Green" program to hang sign on door to tell housekeeping that you dont need towels or linens changed - you are rewarded with Coke (which may not be so green) but is nice touch. Amine helped us during the day and was very helpful. It is great to have the free dates, chocolate, and fruit during the afternoon and self service Nespresso is a nice touch too. Overall I would go back, rooms were very well designed and cozy - not too big but not in them much. Great stay.
The hotel was really nice, the rooms were clean, the staff were always friendly and helpful and there is a free coffee machine. They have a useful collection of items for the beach that you can borrow such as parasols and beach mats (you need padding for the stony beach!). You can visit other hotels in the chain for free things. This is a really nice idea but tbh it was just a couple of chocolates, one small scoop of sorbet or one tiny glass of wine that we got. The good thing about it though is that you can visit each of the hotels to get a free coffee or use the facilities which is really helpful.
Stayed for a week (room only) on the 4th floor. Very handy for the train station, which is only 5 minutes walk away. Compact and bijou interior, with the smallest lift interior ever! Helpful concierge most of the time. Although we knew it was coming it would've been nice to know of the ridiculous City Taxes to be paid ahead of check out on the last day!! I mean, why does anyone charge a tourist to stay in their city anyway?? Room was a little on the small side for a double, with a very small bathroom. Good shower though. Getting the towels to be replaced as was proved difficult. Had to ask at reception several times, as the chambermaids couldn't work it out for themselves! Towels on the floor mean "please replace" right? Wifi reception in the room was practically nonexistent. There is a PC next to reception, though we never tried its potential. The beach is about 15 minutes walk away but the North South tram system is only just past the train station and is very cheap. Had an issue with workmen next door very noisily filling skips about midnight one evening.....well who wouldn't?! The French apparently, as I was told the city allowed this. The concierge told me it is the Nice way!!! Not outside your own house mon ami, I'll bet. At least they stopped shortly afterwards, just as he said they would! Overall it's a hotel worth checking out. They just need to get the small details right (including noticing when the coffee sachets need replacing). I mean, everyone should know where their towel is, right?!
You know it is bad news when you arrive and find ear plugs on your pillow. The hotel was actually ok, the staff were friendly and it is quite a good location for getting around Nice but I would not recommend it. I stayed 2 nights and on the first night there was drilling across the road on a building site, and suddenly I found myself searching for those ear plugs. I got about 1 hour of sleep and walked around feeling like a zombie. The good news was on the second night I was so tired that I slept through the drilling. Despite the hotel being ok, what is the point of a hotel except to sleep, which I did not. Very disappointing. I did mention this as I checked out and the member of staff seemed surprised which seems surprising as I've never been given ear plugs before at a hotel.
Stayed for 3 nights, based on that the distance to the beach and city center was good, room was okey nothing special but from the pictures i expected it to be more special, but for the price it was good, parking (fee) for the car is just outside the hotel which was a plus, everything else was good including the service.
Room:We, three girls stays in this hotel for 3 nights (one room), cost 130euro/per night. The room and bathroom was big. Service: The reception personnel was very friendly, speak fluent English. We didn't choose the breakfast in the hotel, but the "Happy Hour" snack time in the afternoon left us a good impression Location: The hotel is very close to train station, also close to airport shuttle bus stop Feedback: the only downside we had in our room was that the door of the shower can not be closed completely so the water has chance to invade the sleeping room. :P
