Lovely big rooms and if you get a 'garden view' room, you actually get to see the sea! This is a 4 star hotel which apparently means that you don't get face cloths or dressing gowns... The breakfast is good and varied, although at times it took them some time to do refills Our major problem was with the receptionists. We stayed there for 4 days prior to a cruise and then paid for another 6 nights post cruise.. For some unknown reason they used my husband's middle name for the second booking and it took some time to sort the problem out. It also meant that we missed phone calls.
A really love place to stay and close to the beach BUT beware they charge you daily for leaving MEDICATION in the bar fridge in the room. Shame on them. The people in the brekfast room and in the bar on the rooftop were all very friendly.
We had planned a well earned weeks rest in nice. Instead we were kept awake most nights by the Ibiza style music from the terrace on the 6th floor. We were on the 5th floor directly beneath the speakers. The reception team in particular Joshua were trying very hard to appease guests complaining of the volume of music some as far down as 2nd floor. When we went to the terrace for an evening drink we were not welcome and told that we couldn't go in. The terrace was not there for the guests the majority of tables had been reserved by non residents this continued throughout the week. It would seem that the hotel is divided into two parts those porters and reception staff knowing what customer service is and those managing the terrace who clearly do not. If you want to sleep in a nightclub this would probably suit you.
Myself and a friend stay here for a few days the room was very clean and the staff were nice and friendly . We were staying at the back of the hotel so we had the mountin veiws but the balcony was very small and had no table and chairs to sit on . The upstairs terrece with a bar is a fantastic view and you can see the views of the beach ,another downfall was the prices of the drinks at the bar 15 euro a cocktail and for soft drinks is 6 euros. All in all ok hotel
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. The rooms are unusually large even for an American hotel. the bathroom has a tub and a shower and easily fit 2. The room comes with a separate closet. the view from our 4th floor room overlooks the rue de verdun with the Mediterranean Sea in view to our right. The location is excellent. We are a 2 minute walk to the promenade and the water and a 5 mile nite walk to the restaurants of Old Town. I would not recommend eating any meal at this location. Breakfast is 30 euro and is ok. Behind the hotel are cafe's that serve omalets with fresh squeezed oj and bread for half the price. The hotel has a 6th floor (penthouse of the building) bar which has an amazing view. The hotel is extremely quiet. Sleeping was not problem. There must be 40 rooms on our floor but never did we in see another guest walking the halls. The train station is a 15 minute walk. We took day trips to Monte Carlo, Cannes and a town in Italy which now skips my mind. The train ride to each of these locations was no more then 20 minutes but I would not recommend going to Monte Carlo or Cannes. Monte Carlo is very congested with nothing much to see. Cannes felt like Conney Island. Nice has everything you will want. It is clean, quiet for a large city and easy to walk. The food and wine in this city is the best I have ever experienced in any place in the world. Worth the visit
I booked two rooms paying 120 euro extra for a sea view room and a second room standard no view. I made within the same reservation at booking.com. I am a pretty experienced traveler and was surprised at check in that only the standard room included breakfast. They upgraded the standard room as well for 40 euro a night sea view. Bottom line I paid 120 euro more without the 20 euro breakfast for two for the original sea view room. When I asked the staff they were very defensive and would not adjust the bill or include breakfast. Again we travel a lot. I have dealt with unexpected issues over the year but have always been able to resolve it to our satisfaction. Definitely an exception here and would not recommend it to anyone.
Our room was on the fourth floor looking across to the Mediterranean - beautiful view from a balcony. The room itself was excellent and we would return to the Plaza without hesitation. This is a beautiful location!
We stayed here three nights and chose it because it was so central to the Promenade The Old Town and the heart of Nice The location is great and the convenience Yo so many good facilities excellent We upgraded to a suite and were initially disappointed as we were allocated a twin room however housekeeping changed to a king sized bed using quite a thick topper mattress The room was large on the Fourth out of six floors but the decor poor and we felt facilities were more three star in line with service on reception and concierge However on the roof sixth floor there is a lovely outdoor roof bar and restaurant which is great Again service not over powering but efficient Not the glamour of The Negresco but half the price !
This hotel has a great central location & the rooms are nice. But.... the rooftop terrace right above our room meant at 11:30pm every single night (weekend & weekday) there was furniture being dragged around the floor, what seemed like barrels being dropped, so loud we could not sleep. We're told this happens every night while cleaning & they can't (won't?) do anything about it. Otherwise, the hotel is good - so long as you don't want to sleep before well past midnight (maybe book floor 2 if you do).
We got the A98 bus from the airport, from stand 5 which got us to our destination in approx 25mins including negotiating the extensive roadworks along the promenade. Arrived here on Friday afternoon for a fabulous weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was a little the difficult to find as we walked past it twice but it was an adventure and lovely. The reception and breakfast area are superb and very well done. The welcome was spot on and this kept up throughout our stay. The local restaurants are excellent and cater for all. Lots of vegetarian dishes available, certainty was not the case when I worked out there 10 years ago. Restaurant in hotel on rooftop is superb and known as one of the best in Nice. Will definitely visit again. We had 2 days there but could have done with 1 more day as there is so much to see.
