Vermont Tree Cabin on Walker Pond, private retreat
The treehouse is at the very edge of Walker Pond. You and your guest are welcome to enjoy our 40 acres of forest/wetland, go canoeing in our canoe, soak in the custom made cedar hot tub, hang out at the fire pit/garden area, or just enjoy having a private holiday.
The treehouse is located just 5 minutes from downtown Newport and is 22 minutes to Jay Peak Ski Resort.
Walker Pond treehouse is partially supported by two White Pines that are along the shoreline of Walker Pond. The treehouse has a main level, consisting of a kitchen area, sitting space, and a full bathroom with a titled shower.
Climb the winding tree staircase to the bedroom, which has a cathedral ceiling exposed with hand hewn cedar rafters. This room has a queen size bed (memory foam mattress), wall mounted LCD TV, reading bench, and a tiny closet.
There is plenty of glass and windows, so you get the best views of the pond and field. Sunny/breezy afternoons bring the sparkle of the pond into the treehouse. It really is beautiful!
Unique in design, this rustic treehouse is fully functioning with all the essentials provided to make your stay comfortable. Also included, there is a private deck overlooking the pond, a rustic custom made hot tub, mini kitchen, grill, TV, etc.
You will have access to the land and pond, so we invite you to go on a nature walk or go canoeing. You never know what kinds of animals you might see! So far we have seen moose, deer, bear, turkey, geese, ducks, ospreys, eagles, heron, owls, otters, beavers, snapping turtles, lots of painted turtles, fish, and frogs.... just to name a few. Get your camera ready!
While we border 20 acres of farmland, you may often see cows grazing. They are very peaceful and may greet you if they see that you are offering them grass.
In addition, we have another building we are renting to other guests. It is a tiny house and we called it the Osprey Cabin. The Cabin is about 200 ft away from the treehouse. Both you and the other guests are welcome to use the fire pit and garden area.
2 Guests will have access to: • 1 Queen Sized Bed • 1 sleeper sofa (full size) • Rustic Hot Tub • Private Deck/Balcony • Grill • Small Kitchen • TV and DVD player/wifi • Walking Trails/Firepit & Garden • Walker Pond (You can bring your own canoe or kayak and fishing gear. Although, we provide canoes. For your safety, you must wear a life jacket whenever you are on the water and have a fishing license if you would like to fish. The pond inhabits Perch and Horned Pout. Sorry, swimming is not permitted).
We like to meet you when you arrive and answer questions you may have. If we are unable to meet you when you arrive, we will give you notice and instructions to get settled in.
We live on the property and will most likely be here working away from the treehouse to ensure you have privacy. Most days we can be reached very quickly if you need us. Please feel free to message, call or knock on the door. In addition, we have a dog named Wally. He is 11 year old Beagle and a very calm loving dog.
Newport is a beautiful town that is growing and it is the gateway between New England and Canada. The city lies on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog. On the western side of the 30-mile lake rises Owl’s Head. Its 3,360 foot summit offers impressive views.
There is plenty to do and see while visiting. From bicycling, fishing, hiking, paddling, sailing, boating, horseback riding to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Newport, Vermont is a mecca of outdoor recreation year round.
Newport also has fine great restaurants on the water and artisan local foods for all you foodies out there.
Jay Peak Mountain and Resort is only 17 miles away. You can visit any time of the year. Of course, they have skiing and riding, but all year round they have an indoor water park, ice arena, spa, restaurants, and shopping.
It is best to have a car. Also during winter time (November-April) it is best to have winter tires on your car or all wheel drive.

Amazing stay!
The tree cabin is the cutest little spot for a couple! Hot tub was 10/10, the entire place is super cute and lots of special touches. We were there on a super windy and snowy night so the trees do bang into the house (it’s built into them), so if you’re a light sleeper definitely bring a sound machine or earplugs just in case. If it’s not windy it’s not a problem! Great place though. Would stay again.

Treehouse Sanctuary in the Northeast Kingdom
Andrew and Marilou’s treehouse offered the perfect respite for relaxation and connection. Not only were the details of the house a masterpiece of creativity (a sink emerging from a treestump, steps to the loft built into the tree, a hidden bird’s nest), but their hospitality was so thoughtful. We arrived to a fridge stocked with morning waffle ingredients, coffee, maple candies on the coffee table, and a guest book filled with others’ happy memories. There is an adorable hot tub, a comfortable bed, and all of the comforts needed for a quiet getaway. Quiet as it was, the treehouse is also convenient for enjoying the Northeast Kingdom. Jay Peak, downtown Newport, and the Canadian border are all within an easy drive. Thank you, Andrew and Marilou. We will most definitely stay again!
