Just had a three night stay with my kids & the service was excellent, the staff went the extra mile by leaving a birthday balloon & chocolate strawberries for my daughter. The room service food was perfect & well priced. The proximity to the beach & city services is great. Best of all was the buffet breakfast with the best eggs I've ever had. I'll be back again for another stay - this hotel is excellent!
This hotel is ideally located within east walking distance of the city area as well as the beaches and Nobby Headland. Quite a new hotel with good parking facilities, though you pay of course. Shame about extensive roadworks on many surrounding streets - getting ready for supercars.
Came here for for work and found the hotel room to be clean and spacious. Love the raw trader toiletries and check in is very easy. However, I decided to go downstairs to check out bistro Dalby and no one even bat an eye to seat me. Check out was very easy and the reception staff were lovely. Only 3 minutes walk to the beach where there's two cafes it's a great place. Overall, the hotel amenities were great but service let me know. Location wise, it is near the beach and a fair walk to restaurants.
We were delighted with our stay here. Bright, modern, clean. A few minutes walk to inlet where you can often view large cargo ships coming in and out. Also we could see the ships ( see photo) from our room. Close also to other dining options. Our 4th floor room was clean, modern, well appointed, quiet aircon and had good lighting. A small technical issue was corrected very promptly. There is a little bit of road noise from this room but didn't worry us. Saturday night was also a bit loud (there is a YHA close by) but Sunday and Monday nights were fine. Well provisioned buffet breakfast. Lunch menu available to 6.00pm and then a dinner menu. All waiting staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Room service available. Check in/check out personnel made us feel welcome/thankful for our visit. Underground parking available (our choice) or you can park in the street. We definitely will return here when we come through Newcastle again. Tip. If you are here or at any place where you can see ships coming in I suggest you search for vessel finder. It shows you exactly where ships are in real time and you can tell when they are leaving and arriving the port.
Stayed 2 nights in a standard room which turned out to have an excellent view of the beach. Recommend room 505. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Good size room and bathroom - walk in shower. Robes available but no slippers. Bed very comfortable. Able to open window which was great for fresh air. Short walk to beach and restaurants so very convenient. Parking is $25 but there is plenty of it and easy to get in and out. Recommend Petite Bar downstairs and East Hub across the courtyard. Issues are: Limited shelf space in bathroom No plates in room so couldn't have a snack Tiny cupboard poorly positioned so that when you open it the door bangs against the door close and makes it difficult to access contents. Window not sealed so rattles during night when southerly starts Having said that, would definitely recommend a stay here
Fresh new and and I'm good condition. The room service and morning breakfast. Was good. If staying overnight and leaving early park on the street to avoid the parking charge as overnight parking on the street is free.
I had a 2 week business trip to Newcastle. Brilliant place to come home to after a day of work and/or travelling. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Rooms were excellent - clean and modern. Wifi was stable and consistent. Food was exceptional. Could not fault this place at all. Enjoy your stay!!
Home away from home whenever I visit Newcastle. Always stay at Novotel and never disappoints! Great stay, great hotel, great staff!! Highly recommend!!! Great location, great views and great restaurant!!!!
The good thing about Novotel hotels is that they have a good product at a good price. The room was comfortable, although not huge. We had a pleasant stay and I can recommend it. The only thing I'd suggest management address is the very bad house wines at the bar. We had a complimentary drink as an Accor member but after taking one sip of the red wine and the sparkling, left them and walked out - undrinkable. Please get someone who knows something about wine to make changes at your bar.
The hotel is a short walk to the beach, which unfortunately I didn't get to see due to time constraints, but the hotel is lovely, room was very nice, the king size bed was extremely comfortable. I used the Room Service facility and the food was delivered within 15 minutes of being ordered, all of the food that I had was delicious, thoroughly recommend staying here, as I will be another 2 more times this month. There is a gym and parking is available for hotel guests at a cost of $25/night. Staff are very friendly and eager to please.
