Stayed for one night and found the service on arrival to be very friendly. Staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with especially when we realized we had left a phone in the car. Valet were quick to collect it and delivered to our room. Great spot on the waterfront for a casual walk during the day or a after dinner stroll. Rooms are very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We only stayed one night but what a perfect way to start our break. from the valet service to the breakfast menu we had a great time. Great views of the port, wonderful room, excellent service. We stayed in the harbour view suite with balcony the room was spacious and clean, balcony overlooking the working port, which we loved. The staff were amazing and friendly and the breakfast was great sitting in the sun in the morning. Highly recommend
We may have paid top $ for 2 nights including NYE, but the service and staff made it all worthwhile. Could not fault the happy smiling staff, from the valet service to reception, from housekeeping to the concierge. Top location, great waterfront views, close to restaurants and bars.
Great position, fronting the harbour, which is a working port, with terrific little tugboats very entertainingly escorting huge vessels in and out. The staff have been superbly trained. Every request is met with a huge smile and positive action. There is a 'quiet' area for rooms, which was divinely quiet and overlooked a pretty garden. There also seems to be a play room for children, with acres of toys and relieved looking parents. Our suite was very comfortable and well designed; the valet parking people have it down to a fine art (again with those smiles) and snacks (including breakfast or dinner) may be taken in the quiet bar area. All in all an excellent place to stay -- heaps of restaurants on either side along a welcoming boardwalk.
Stayed for 3 nights in harbour view room with balcony, good option if you don’t mind some noise as people walk by on the foreshore. Great room, very clean, roomy, seperate bedroom, all ammenities. Buffet style breakfast was very good with exceptional service from very friendly staff, very busy but to be expected at this time of year. Only negative would be some guests walking through reception in swimmers with no footwear not really what you want to see if having a coffee in the lounge area -dress code could be applied in that area. Overall highly recommend staying at Crowne when visiting Newcastle such a lovely location close to walks, beaches, bars and restaurants!
Spent two nights during the Christmas period the good - nice hotel - clean and large rooms - view on the water (for our two rooms) - comfy bed - had a nice sleep - super friendly staff even during the busy Christmas period - good location - nice walk along the water the not so good - valet parking only - but i got used to this luxury - no much water pressure in the shower. will come back: Yes
Been the for 6 nights and enjoyed it. Staff are helpful, rooms are clean and the location is superb. We stayed at the harbor view room and it was amazing. The hotel is located close to major attractions of the city. Newcastle beach is just a 20 minutes (more or less) walk. All in all, I recommend this hotel strongly.
Typical Crown experience - warm welcome, clear instructions on where to park and on the facilities available to you during your stay. Just a short walk to the wharf restaurant district so plenty of eating places and bars to choose from.
returned after many years. I always a great experience at this Hotel. The staff are courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Upgraded to harbour front room always pleasant ..the bathrooms still need a bit of an upgrade! The facilities and the lap pool is first class. The dining room is basic and I think rather expensive, however, breakfast is excellent...( i must be one of the few who love the savoury mince on toast!) its great. The staff always willing to assist. Wonderful walks along the harbour front and good bike riding..bikes are for hire. I recommend this Hotel and also great for families. Not far from Newcastle airport , beach is not far away either
Like all Crowne hotels in the IHG chain, this is no different. The check in was fast and got to my room to find it well prepared and ready for me. I had the King Harbour side Suite and found the room layout very interesting. I liked the views from the window and the connection between the bed and the bath rooms. The room was made everyday and toiletries/amenities replenished. Generally, all staff (including housekeeping) were friendly and helpful. I like it when housekeeping staff engage with guest and it's good to see and interact with the people who are making your bed etc. The downside of this hotel is the location and the lack of a proper drop off for cars. 1) It is located next to the harbour and the fog horns from the container ships can wake a light sleeper in the middle of the night as it did myself. 2) The valet service is excellent but it would have capped off a great hotel with a grander main entrance than what is currently there.
