We stayed here on our way down to a cruise after staying at a HI express in Gonzales the night before. The place is nice but seems a bit worn. Rooms were clean but the sheets felt super cheap as did the mattresses. The shower required a page of instructions to use, which was crazy. The fridge had a freezer which was nice but it was frosted over almost to the point of being unusable. Did not use the WiFi but half the time our cells got no service which was weird. Breakfast was good. Nothing to fault except perhaps fewer options than at the last three HI expresses I’ve stayed at.

My husband and I stay here pretty often because this is very close to the plant that he works at. Usually, I look forward to staying here because of the proximity to "restaurants" like Wendy's, Burger King, Waffle House, McDonald's and a couple of gas stations. There are better restaurants down the road like Pier 51 Seafood and El Paso Mexican Grill. There is also a Walmart about 3 miles away and a movie theater. Now onto the bad. Things have vastly gone downhill in the last few months. First of all, there is absolutely no hot water in rooms 406 and 101. We didn't take a hot shower the entire time we stayed and my husband didn't either on his stay alone. After moving to another room, there was still zero hot water. This is very frustrating when you just finished a 12 hour shift at a hot plant. Secondly, the cell service and WIFI is dismal. We couldn't use either of our phones including making calls, sending text messages and browsing the web. The hotel phone in our second room did not work either, so we were basically out of luck. After finding a cockroach and a gecko in the room, we were nervous that the room was infested with bugs. After seeing another Yelp review of a man finding a cockroach in between his sheets, I'm even more worried. After calling down to the desk to complain about the lack of WIFI and cellphone service, an employee named Christina was exceptionally rude. She basically blamed us for the poor cell service and was short, curt and disrespectful to myself and my husband. She also connected me to the wrong room when I called to ask for my husband and I ended up waking up an elderly gentlemen. She's been rude and unfriendly on several occasions. Perhaps another profession is in order? Although Christina is horrible to deal with, Erin and Michael are exceptionally friendly and pleasant. They offer smiles and wonderful service! Unfortunately, my husband is forced to stay here for work but it isn't a hotel that I'd stay at willingly. It needs some improvements such as a new hot water heater, better WIFI, maybe an exterminator and possibly several new employees.

Had a wonderful desk clerk who saw to all needs. She was very friendly and made us laugh. She also handled calls efficiently and gave a wake up call and 15 min follow up call that was greatly appreciated

The hotel itself was nice and modern. Breakfast was well stocked and the staff were very friendly. The shower was awesome. We had a few odd spots on the wall, the AC wasn't super cold, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Also I reserved with one rate direct through HIE website and upon arrival the rate had jumped.

I've stayed a million Holiday Inn Express's and like them except for the water saving lame showers, but this room had a floor to ceiling shower, giant shower head with great pressure, series of jet sprays running up and down the shower unit. The room was clean, staff was great and the breakfast was hot and kept fresh and well stocked. A great stay.

We just came for a one night stay. We wanted something outside of New Orleans that was much more quiet than staying in New Orleans. So that's how we decided to stay here. It was perfect for us!! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond for me. This was a quiet location and easy for us to get out and see attractions such as the Lake Pontchartrain bridge and head into New Orleans for a bit. But we still got to come back to a quiet place. The room was nice and comfortable. And I can't stress enough how great the staff was!

Stayed for 1 night. Check-in was quick and friendly. When I went outside to help my family, my son had a bloody nose, the front desk staff handed me a box of tissues. When we came in they asked if he was okay. Went to the room, nice large room. My issue was with the mattress springs on the edges were in poor shape had to sleep in the middle of the bed, ugh made a back nights sleep for both of us.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 night prior to a cruise. The hotel was pretty easy to find. It was not too far off the highway. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious. It had hardwood floors, with a kitchen area which included a fridge, sink, cabinets and counter. There was a sofa. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great but we needed to read the instructions which were posted on the back of the bathroom door. Breakfast was typical HIE breakfast food and the first morning everything seemed dry. The second day was a bit better but it is the same breakfast at any HIE. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.

Easy check-in, well-appointed, very clean, friendly staff. Will stay here in the future. The bathroom in the King room is wonderful. Best shower ever. Bed is perfect! Entire motel is clean - halls, dining area, parking lot. ..everything.

My family stayed at this property on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. We got there earlier than expected, but were still able to check in before the official check in time. We asked the staff various questions about the area and they were great to give us tips and offer suggestions. Our experience with staff, as a whole, was wonderful. We had some trouble with the pancake machine in the morning and one of the staff members came to our rescue and didn't leave until she was sure the machine was working. The room was comfortable and quiet. My only complaint was the shower. It worked, but it had so many jets that it made it far to complicated to use it efficiently. There were many options to choose from for breakfast. It was also very close the a number of fast food chains and gas stations.
