Overall this was a good stay, and the property was well maintained. My two minor complaints are: 1) The plastic kitchen trash receptacle was broken for the duration of my visit. This meant that each time I wanted to throw out trash, I had to lift the lid with my hand. 2) The sunroom was not usable due to lack of heating. There was what appeared to be a gas stove in there, but it wasn’t made available to guests.

Perfect, lovely, cozy home for my pup and I. The space and layout was great, with plenty of windows including skylights! I felt like we were in a snow globe with the snowfall during our stay. Even though the place is off of route 12, the road and area overall is very peaceful. Spacious yard as well!The host was not only responsive to my message upon arrival, but went above and beyond the day of our checkout when I couldn't get my car moving from the driveway because of the blizzard. They were super helpful in trying to get me out as soon as they could. I was able to track down a plow truck and the kind man helped me get out, thankfully. Cannot recommend this place enough. Spacious and cozy home and excellent hosts.

The property was pet friendly and twice a deer walked through the yard while we were there. The kitchen had plenty of silverware and cooking utensils. The house was clean upon arrival.

I found this a perfect spot for a quiet retreat. Immaculately clean, well-equipped, beautifully decorated, with comfortable furniture in every room and two-enclosed porches. A straight 5-minute drive get you into New Buffalo.

The house was clean and kitchen well stocked; beaches were close and within striking distance with the help of a golf cart - be sure to pay attention to local rules and traffic patterns! Great restaurants in New Buffalo down the road and the house was a fantastic homebase for all our Lake Michigan shenanigans!

Grand Beach Road Getaway

The cottage is nicely done inside. We never made it to Grand Beach, drove down all the roads and couldn’t locate it. We had a small dog with us so were not able to use the beach in Michigan City and the beach’s towards Indiana were all private.

Great space, super manager!

This was a great space for our family of four! Nice areas to gather or to find some alone time. Equipped with everything we needed. Super easy checkin, checkout. One hiccup upon checkin, but property manager was super responsive and quickly met our needs. Appreciated the communication in advance of our stay and during our stay. Google maps showed the walk to the beach as 23 minutes, and we made that work but not ideal. The property feels very private, secluded despite being pretty close to road. Would recommend and definitely return!

Great place to stay while visiting New Buffalo

It was a very nice property, very private and easy access. The accommodation was very good, spacious , comfortable and very clean. The yard is a plus but what was key was the location with easy access to downtown New Buffalo as well as by the red arrow highway. I will return to this property. Also they are very quick to respond on any requests.

Perfect for Pet Families

This was a wonderful place to stay for my small family and our 7 year old Bernese. We found it clean, cozy, and with many of the amenities that one finds normally at a hotel but much more! Kitchen was stocked more than adequately with dishes and cookware making it easy to get the family feed quickly after arriving. Plenty of bath towels plus beach towels on hand. Host was quick to respond and check in. The only note that I would make is that the nearby beach is not pet friendly 24/7 - just morning and evenings. Not too big of a deal for us as we found a number of other very pet friendly beaches within a short drive. And what are vacations for if not exploring the area a little? Overall highly recommend, would stay again!

Just Lovely!

Couldn't have asked for a better place for a quiet getaway. A cozy little house nestled in a quiet neighborhood close to the cutest little town. It's close-ish to the railroad which I find to be comforting sound. So many comfy nooks to sit in and enjoy a book and coffee. The landscaping is so lovely! And the walk to the beach is great. Already can't wait to stay at the Hideaway House again!
The recommended beach that's about a 20 minute walk from the house through the Grand Beach neighborhood.

Perfect cozy retreat in New Buffalo

This place is such a peaceful, cozy retreat. I stayed for a few days with my dog and it was exactly what I needed — quiet, clean, and well-equipped. The location strikes a perfect balance: close enough to town for restaurants and shops, but tucked away enough to feel relaxing and private. A great spot to unwind, disconnect, and recharge. I’d absolutely return.

Tucked away treasure

This sweet little cottage has a warm and welcoming vibe. The hostess was incredibly communicative and helpful. The location of the house is central to so many amazing sites and cities! If you are looking for a serene place with a short walk to the shore of Lake Michigan, surrounded by great places to eat just a short distance away, you will love staying at this locale!
