Everything started good. Host was responsive and friendly. House was clean. However, we could not look past the fact that the air conditioning (and heat) were locked behind a box! Hope you like 73 degrees, and cross your fingers it doesn't get cold like it did during our stay. First night was hot, following 2 nights were cold. We couldn't use the heat or air as paying guests! The host's reason was that guests in the past had turned it down and cost too much, so they had "restricted" access to the control unit. No, not restricted - it was locked up. It felt very personal and we were not happy it was not in the listing that the a/c and heat were off limits. My 5 year old was freezing and all i could do was put more clothes on him. The fan in the primary bedroom didn't go above low, either.

This home is so gorgeous! Our trip was wonderful thanks to this lovely host and her beautiful home. The only issue I had all week was that I couldn’t stop thinking about remodeling my own because of the ideas I was getting at this rental!
