My 3 night stay over the Fourth of July was my first experience with this hotel brand. I will find an alternative on my next visit to the area. To label this room as a suite is a stretch. It is a basic hotel room with a refrigerator and stove top/sink. They provide hair dryers, but they must be checked out at the desk. The bed was basic and comfortable. The carpeting was stained and fraying at the corners. There were no supplies in the kitchen so cooking is not as option unless you provide basic kitchen implements, including dinnerware glassware and silverware. One of the bathroom bulbs was out and had not been replaced over my stay, even though it was reported to the front desk the first day. My room was not serviced over the 3 nights. I find suite hotels usually check bathroom supplies and empty garbage daily. The grounds are well maintained and well lit at night. Parking was easy. Front desk staff was friendly, but I awoke the on-call staffer Sunday morning as I was trying to check out at 8:00 am. On Sunday morning checkout, the front desk is unmanned until 10:00, so there was no check out option other than leaving the key in the room upon exit. Unbeknownst to me, the hotel management decided the room charges were insufficient for the nights of my visit, even though I signed a fee verification on arrival, and was my card charged for the additional fee. No apologies when I called to inquire as to the additional charge. I found this inappropriate since it was their mistake on check-in. Quite disappointed in this property.
This was a good location and value for travelers. I was traveling from southern Georgia to Kentucky and needed to stop for the night without spending an arm and a leg. It was a nice comfortable room, but just average. All night long some kids were running back and forth in the room above me. I met a few people on the elevator that were staying there while working a local job. I think some families were staying there because they had not found other housing. I did feel safe there though. They had good security.
While checking into the hotel i could tell that the night clerk was high on speed. She was talking so fast that i almost couldn't understand her.i should have called the police. But I was only staying one night.
I stayed at this place for work. It was a few of my coworkers there as well. We all left and moved to another extended stay. This place has roaches and the staff is horrible. Their customer service sucks. They over charge for services that you don't ask for then act like they don't want to refund you. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff weren't pocketing the money. I would encourage anybody to stay somewhere else! This place if not great.
Can't say enough good things about the Management of the Hotel of WoodSpring Suites from William B Manager to Justin Asst. Manager they went out of there way for us me and my wife. House keeping Supervisor Elisabeth was wonderful. Helping out with our needs WE will stay there when ever we come to town if they have the room. Thank you all VERY MUCH Raymond & Barbara Allen
I visited there with my fiance. He booked the room. I was in a horrible mood when i got to the hotel but the desk clerk (chris) was simply wonderful. I watched as she multi-tasked through the sea of guest with ease. She was very professional but had a way of making everyone laugh and my mood changed. She changed my mood which made my visit better. Has it npt been for her i wouldnt have stayed. Im glad i did. We will be back.
My partner and I attempted to check in last night 10/18/2018. The app we used over booked us, but the front desk attendant Chris was nothing short of amazing. She stayed with us and offered us a phone charger while we called hotels.com to get the situation fixed. She reached out to local hotels trying to see if they had availability because she was sold at the time. In short Chris made a bad situation okay. She is a great asset to your establishment!
Great management (William) and staff (Emma and others). They are courteous, kind, professional, and friendly. This is not a luxury hotel; however, it is good for the value and for temporary stays if you are traveling or moving. While the rooms could use updating (carpet/flooring, etc..), as well as some deep cleaning, the staff and manager of this hotel are the reasons I will refer people here. One recommendation is that the hotel may want to have a designated area for people who smoke that is away from the front doors for people who smoke, as sometimes those of us who are nonsmokers walked into smoke from folks standing near the front door.
I made reservations well in advance for this stay. I was 7 hours from home and I was traveling with a chronically ill child. When I went to check in, they copied my driver's license and proceeded to check me in. The lady at the reception desk said, "hmmm, I can't find your reservation anywhere. I've put your name in ten different ways." I proceeded to show her my email confirmation for the reservation and she still insisted that I had no reservation. All she said was, "not sure what happened but I don't have any rooms. Sorry" My husband (home) called customer service and they verified that they could see my reservation just fine. In other words, they gave my room away. I still have not received a call from their manager. The only consolation I have is that it looked dirty and disheveled. Would never consider staying there.
Wood Springs Suites is in a great location near I- 24 for travelers. Near a variety restaurant on Old Fort Park Way and surrounding area. Management and staff are very friendly and professional. Rooms are very clean and quiet with great rates. New renovations are being done to the hotel which made my stay even more enjoyable.
