The hotel was excellent. Great room, great service, and great location.
hotel is in a great location close to a bunch of restaurants and shops. it also has the nicest rooftop bar.
Loved this hotel! Staff was helpful and attentive. Decor in the rooms was tasteful and classic. The location was perfect, close to boutiques, close to restaurants, just far enough from the downtown craziness.
Wonderful location, classy hotel with a cool vibe on the rooftop at LA Jackson. Wish the beds were queens instead of doubles and there was more drawer space. Not having a pool was kind of a bummer for the kids, but we had a fabulous time!
This place nails the trendy modern experience without over doing it. The rooms although super modern actually have a retro feel -- older vintage looking radios and decor but somehow they pull it off with a super fresh feel. The location was perfect to boot. Rooftop bar is a nice twist, coffee shops and restaurants litterally connect to the place on the first floor. I would absolutely stay here again -- what a cool place.
Staff moved heaven and earth to make sure every one of our wishes were fulfilled. They were very well trained, particularly the bartenders! The rooftop bar is off the charts, and the location was excellent, and fa enough away from Broadway to be quiet.
From the start to the end of my stay, the staff are friendly, appropriately engaging and attentive. We enjoyed the comfortable lobby. Often hotel food is average at best. Not the case here; excellent meals.
Awesome experience and got to propose to my fiancé at the top at LA jackson
Great experience and plenty of amenities. Good walkability within the Gulch and close to a Hop-On/Off Stop. Staff was very friendly and cordial but a few lacked the deeper local knowledge to hit this one out of the park. For instance, local bbq restaurant was closed on Sunday.
My wife and I are local to Nashville, but we wanted to 'stay downtown' after enjoying a concert. We had heard good things about the Thompson, so we showed up in a good mood and giving them the 'benefit of the doubt.' Check-in was fine/uneventful. I might have been assigned the worst room in the joint! 3rd floor (the lowest floor with rooms) overlooking an ugly roof of the neighboring retail and pretty much nothing else. I had requested a room facing the opposite direction. "Oh, well, " I thought. You don't always get requests fulfilled at a hotel - especially if you commit the sin of booking somewhere OTHER than their own website. The rooftop bar waitstaff seemed bothered that we were there, and the drinks were lame (filled with 'Sonic-style' ice) and expensive. The room was ice cold when we arrived, so I adjusted the thermostat - big mistake. The rest of the night we roasted, no matter what we did to the thermostat. Also, the HVAC made a loud 'creak' periodically that sounded like an old floorboard heater. It awoke both of us throughout the night. The mattress was so hard that both of us had a sore back when we awoke. Mattress comfort is very subjective - acknowledged. But I travel a lot, and this was the worst hotel mattress I have experienced. After a rough night, I called the front desk to request a late check-out. They did not answer, nor did 'Guest Services' - even after it rang for five minutes. Similar bad/strange service at the hotel restaurant for a brunch.
