Idealy situated very central, in the Spanish Quarters, 5 minutes walk from a metro station and a busy thouroughfare (via Toledo), 15 minutes walk from town center and piers to visit the islands (and take the bus to the airport), Hotel Toledo is a nice hotel in a quiet street. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. The breakfast is also basic but you can have it in a very nice terrass. The personel of the hotel is very friendly and helpful with sound tips for visits or restaurants. I highly recommend this place and will book again a room there when visiting Naples and surroundings. Un saluto a Pino e Ciro e grazie per cueste belle vacanze ! Iván.
Spent 3 days in Naples and heard about all the good and bad of the city. Was glad I went, yet wont be rushing back to it......but... if i did i would certainly stay here again. The staff were very friendly and were only too happy to organise taxi's and places to eat and attractions. Just a street from the hotel is an restaurant Da Nennella's. Pure Italian experience, locals love it. Worth the visit. The hotel rooms i found were great, large comfy bed, safe in the room, wifi, good size bath room and a shower, with a shower head that looked big enough to "beam you up". The air con worked a treat if you leave it on low. The view from the window was pure Naples city streets.Narrow and alive...watch out for the scooters!!! The stairs are narrow and the lift is tiny, so if you have a lot of bags etc your in for a bit of a work out. on the roof top is the terrace for breakfast and what a haven it is. Lovely and sunny, nice potted plants and greenery to give it that private feeling of not being overlooked and the resident tortoise as well!! All in all i really loved this hotel. I trusted my instinct when booking and so glad i did.
This was our second stay in Hotel Toledo and it was wonderful to be back. We were treated like family and as usual the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The area is great, full of wonderful restaurants and shops in such a lively atmosphere. We could walk to the port easily and caught ferries to different islands close by. Pino gave us lots of helpful information about catching trains to Pompeii, Sorrento etc. The breakfasts are wonderful with lots of different choices and served in a beautiful rooftop garden. The coffee was always hot too. We returned for another stay after a trip to Sicily which was a great finish to our Italian holiday. We will be back again I'm sure. .
Admit I was nervous about Naples with all negative comments I had before traveling however it was a lovely place. Stayed at this hotel. Arrived gone midnight but young man that checked us in very friendly and helpful. Rooms a little basic and overlooked neighbours and all their belongings but it added to charm. Lovely roof terrace for breakfast The main positive point was the staff . The manager was really helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. He had some great tips about travelling on from Naples. The lady serving breakfast lovely too. I guess if you want the luxury that big impersonal hotels provide don't stay here but if you like to be amongst the locals and experience the Italian atmosphere and want a central location then don't hesitate to stay here. I certainly would again The trains are cheap but a bit chaotic and Naples or indeed Italy is expensive but a great time spent here as start to our holiday
My husband and I stayed 3 nights in the Hotel Toledo and could not have been more happy. Such a lovely family run hotel - the staff were fantastic - friendly and very helpful. Sergio in particular was great. The family gave us some great suggestions for dinner and made sure each morning as we headed out, that we knew how to get to our destinations. There is a roof-top terrace which was lovely to have breakfast and late night drinks. We had room 212 which was quiet, clean and large. While the furniture is not brand new and modern, it is well kept, serviceable, and adds to the feel of the hotel. We had a fridge/mini bar that was well priced. The location was great - we caught the metro from Napoli Centrale and just had to walk maybe a 100m and we were there. We loved that in the evenings you could hear mothers calling their children - that neighbourhood feeling :) but it was so central to everything else. If we were ever fortunate enough to return to Naples - we would definitely stay here again.
We love the location in the heart of Spanish Quarter, a very typical and "familiar" neighborhood. All the members of the staff were amazingly nice and gave us precious tips to visit the town. The only thing to improve is the rooms need to be refurnished a little bit.
Excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The decor and look and feel of the hotel is on the dated side but so is Naples. We love it and would recommend this hotel. It is very central and is literally two minutes walk to Toledo metro. I was advised to avoid staying close to the main central station (dodgy, filthy)
It's a fairly small, family-run hotel in Spanish Quarter (a network of tiny streets and alleys with kamakaze scooters everywhere) Our room was dingy, cramped and right underneath our window (room 206), a noisy bar that seemed to have parties every night. In their defence, the staff were very friendly and quite helpful, but don't expect lots of facilities or added services. To be fir, the wi-fi worked very well. We stayed 5 nights...three too many!
We were recommended Hotel Toledo by friends as a budget price, basic but clean and friendly hotel in an excellent central location - and I would say that is exactly what we found. Down a side street off the main shopping road Via Toledo, you can easily access the main tourist areas and the coastal promenade from the Hotel. It is also near a Metro station and about half an hour max in a taxi from the airport (20 euros). The gentleman on reception, Mr Pino, gave us a fantastically warm welcome without being intrusive and even though we arrived early at around 10.30 am he made us comfortable in the lounge area and hurried the cleaners so we only had to wait about 10 minutes for our room. He then proceeded to be a font of knowledge throughout our visit giving helpful tips such as catching the train to Pompeii from the smaller Porta Nolana station where the line starts and you can get a seat, rather than fighting our way onto a train at the Station Centrale (following stop). The rooms were basic with traditional furniture but exceptionally clean with a great shower and everything you needed. The towels were clean but a little tired. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a delight, peaceful with a resident tortoise wandering around. We never had any noise within the hotel, although you could hear some outside noise from the Euro Bar opposite, especially if you left the window open! If you are young and/or older (like us) but open minded, the Euro Bar is great for a cheap drink if you don't mind drinking out of a plastic cup and hanging out with the trendy crowd (great for people watching!). The other staff were also friendly and helpful, including Roberto who sorted our taxis out and the young lady serving breakfast cappuccinos. Late drinks were not a problem and you genuinely felt at home in the Hotel Toledo.
We stayed 6 nights at this hotel and enjoyed it very much. The breakfasts were lovely , luckily the weather was nice so we ate out on the sun terrace. The staff were very helpful and friendly advising us where to eat and what attractions to visit. The room had everything you required including a mini bar which was priced very cheap , a pleasant surprise ! The hotel is ideally located for all the major attractions and transport. All in all our stay represented great value for money.
