When I went to check in, I was told that my room wouldn't be ready until after 2 (check in begins at noon) and I had arrived a bit after 10 am. I was allowed to drop off my luggage and handed over my passport so she could check me in. I was told the reception closed at 11:30 pm. I went out and was called on the phone at 10:57 pm asking where I was very rudely (I was on the train back, about 10 minutes away) and was told that reception closed at 10, then later told (in the same conversation, that it closed at 10:30 as well as 11). I arrived a couple minutes later and was given keys, warned that my friend was not allowed in my room, and ushered out. I did not notice that I did not receive my passport back, but did not notice at the time. The next day I asked via phone and email message if I could upgrade my room and pay the difference, as my friend was having troubles at another hostel, and received no response. The next morning, my flight was scheduled to depart at 7 am (the same time the reception opened). I arrived at the airport after leaving the keys and a note (i was not told how to check out in in the morning) at one of the reception desks and noticed that I didn't have my passport. I returned to the hotel and called two different numbers MULTIPLE times and finally got an answer. The manager of the hotel refused to come give me my passport because reception wasn't open until I offered to pay him. He extorted 50 euros cash from me or else he would not come give me my passport. He then offered to take me to the airport and along the way, asked if my friend stayed over in my room. He would not continue the drive until I agreed to pay him an additional 50 euros for the addition of a person to my room. Keep in mind, the cost for a one person room that I had already paid was $40 a night. I now paid an additional 50 euros cash for another person. As I left the car, my phone was left behind and he later refused to return it to my friend who went back for it until he was shown proof of its GPS location. I filed a claim with my booking agency, who called to inquire about my experience and the booking agent was told never to call back and said he only took the 50 euros for the additional person. Denied the passport exchange. BEWARE OF THIS MANAGER. HE WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!
Situated directly at the main place in front of the main train station. Small, but sufficient B&B, rooms are clean, breakfast with cheese and mortadella (could be a bit more, though). Friendly and helpful people.
I booked this B&B in advance, but there was some problems with withdrawal money from B*****G so they cancelled my booking at all. After a long communication via e-mails we reached an agreement that I can come and stay. When I came they gave me a "very good room" located at the 5th floor at the right entrance. You have to pay for the elevator there. When I first met the portier he told me that because of my cancelled booking I will have no breakfast and charged me extra 6 euro for I-don't-know-what. My "extra-good-room" had no fridge, no glasses, the sockets were italian-style (only one in the bathroom was ok to charge the laptop). Wi-Fi was poor, very poor, there were a few points in the room where I could connect it. Hot water was rather a tepid water. One day I arrived and discovered that the elevator was out of use (5th floor in such buildings is like the 8th floor to climb), there was no electricity, no Wi-Fi, nothing! I had to call them and explain (they don't speak English actually) the problem. It was very loud in the room because of traffic. Even if the bed and pillows were OK, I could hear every beep outside. No good sleep! When I had to leave I wrote them and asked where to leave the keys, but there was no answer. What's a mess!!! Bed and Breakfast without Breakfast and without Wi-Fi! The cleaning was Ok, the girl was kind of determined and always brought fresh towels. But I would never ever return to this B&B!
If you are a female travelling solo be very careful and look at other hotels.... this area is quite dangerous at night time. The hotel has a strict check-in policy... so if you're late for any reason .. or flights are delayed..you'll be left out on the street as there is no one to let you in... and you will not get your money back. (Thankfully the porter at B and B Garibaldi saved the day.. or night I should say).. The owner was rude and uncompromising...I would not recommend this place. Pay the extra and stay somewhere decent and safe.
Very nice hotel, near by Garibaldi metro and rail station. Rooms are being cleaned every day, air-conditioned. Price is also nice:) Staff in hotel very helpful. If you plan to visit not only Naples, but also other places in Campania, it is probably one of the best places to start!
It was our base for three nights... + Location Comfortable room Ac worked fine Bathroom was big and had all necessities Linen was clean and fresh The staff was helpful and friendly Internet speed was good First evening i was not able to connect to internet and even at 9 pm somebody was there who made sure it is solved.. Within next thirty min internet was fixed and it was at a very good speed. The staff at the desk at night was very kind All the staff was hospitable ... It was our perfect base to get to the capri islands... Bus to molo baverollo right front of hotel and then ferri to islands frm the Amalfi ride from centrale station which is about 200-300 metre frm there All in all i have nothing to complain... Everything was smooth here... There is a turkish/asian restaurant right next to the hotel door... It served very good indian food... We had lovely briyani here for two nights... Very nice There are many other eateries when u get down frm hotel and walk towards the centrale station... - No negatives Its noisy on the street in the nite but its centre so u cant complain
Great location for transport. Easy to get about. Room was fine - had everything we needed. Breakfast was fine. Good amenities nearby and everything reachable by bus and train. Must visit the lovely pizzerias nearby. Value for money, staff were helpful.
OK, so it's not a posh place by any stretch of the imagination, but the beds were comfortable, the room was large and airy and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was plentiful, and it's in a very good location for getting around Napoli. The big drawback for us was the aircon, it didn't work properly, making no difference at all to the heat in our room (a corner room, facing South East will always heat up during the day), and, when it turned itself on at night, it was incredibly noisy, which woke us up a good few times. We did try to talk to the guys at reception, but got nowhere with that; they gave us a story about the aircon company needing to come and service them. I'd recommend earplug if you're going to stay here. The area itself is a bit iffy, the B&B is right on Piazza Garibaldi which, like all railway station squares, is full of dodgy people, including the team who tried, unsuccessfully, to pick my pocket just a few metres away from the hotel. But you can always use the lower level shopping mall to avoid the square itself, and it leads into the Metro and Treni, which go all over the region. Hopefully the ongoing works on the Piazza will be finished soon!
The hotel is located in an set of apartments. Due to building work around the main piazza it was tricky to find and when we found the sign we discovered the entrance was a locked wooden door which served the apartment complex. After getting let in we then discovered that the whilst there is a lift, it needed 10 cents to operate, so up the stairs we lugged out case. The hotel staff were very accommodating, friendly and pleasant. The room was large and had a nice décor. Some of the wooden floorboards were a bit loose and cracked but this wasn't a big problem. Large comfortable bed (Although it was two twins pushed together which left a normal 'tilt' into the centre. The bathroom was also large, however the toilet had a ridiculously loud flush and the showers temperature was incredibly sporadic. I could never reach a decent compromise between having a nice warm shower without the water being the 'hard fast pellet' type. I spent numerous minutes turning the dial around trying to go from boiling water to freezing cold. The Air con worked fine, however there was the electric generator fan outside our window so we have to decide upon air con and a very loud hum through the night. Breakfast was basic, a glass of juice with bread, ham and cheese slices. This was however brought to your room at a time of your choosing so you could 'dine' in bed, which was a nice change from the other places we had stayed in. The WiFi, although free, was also not reliable at all. The signal strength seemed to change on a moment by moment basis as I walked around the room trying to find where it had gone! Upon check-out the staff allowed us to leave us luggage in the reception area so long as we collected it before they left- around 10pm normally. The location was decent for transport routes, being on the main piazza from the station, however it was close to the 'street' neighbourhood and was a long walk from the main centre of Naples. All in all - Good location for Station and basic hotel for what was needed. Comfortable bed and nice friendly staff (The man on reception paid for our lift journey down upon leaving with our luggage). The water situation for the shower could be improved, as could the WiFi.
Everything was really good: very clean room, nice assistance, comfortable equipment and cozy room. There was quick and free wifi. The hotel is situated in the center of Naples, so a little bit noisy, if you open the window, but in the room you have conditioner, so the windows can be closed and in this case it is very quiet. The prices from the desk are more expensive than if you book from some online-company. If we are talking about demerits, only some little things was noticed: I had booked double room, asked one bed, but they gave me two beds which can be separated and it was very uncomfortable to sleep in the middle of the bed, because bed was not one and in the night could be separated in every moment when you move. Also the housekeeping service did not pay attention on the plate " Do not disturb " and was knocking every morning and asking if I need the housekeeping service. In general I can recommend this hotel as good place to stay for several days! Thanks them for hospitality, comfortable accommodation and polite attitude!!!!
