We stayed in this hotel for three nights. It has a good location for the main sites. You have to take the Metro to get there from the train station. The Room was clean but very small and a bit noisy because of the street. The Internet connection was slow and inconsistent. We could never connect. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of choices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the small bag of pastries they gave us upon our departure. I thought it was nice touch!

This is a lovely small hotel which delivers comfort, advice and friendliness. Some commonly repeated characterisations of Naples, and in particular the Spanish Quarter, as disorderly and unsafe are completely incorrect. This city is a wonderful place and when I return I know where I will be staying. I want to thank all of you who made me so welcome.

My husband and I stayed for three nights there as part of a week's trip to the area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and even put ear plugs in our room as the hotel is very central and because of that, also rather noisy. Actually I thought it was OK at night - it was the church bells early in the morning that woke me! Room quite small but fine for our needs and the shower was hot and had great pressure. Breakfast nothing to write home about but adequate. Despite what we were told about Naples, I felt completely safe around there at night. Very busy, buzzy area with lots of great restaurants.

We just returned from a two night stay and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Location is perfect, we walked to everything we were interested in! Great value for the price!

We planned to visit Naples for two nights in September for the start of a southern Italy trip, but didn't like the could-be-anywhere feel of most of the hotels we checked out online -- until we found the listing for Il Convento. It appeared to be -- and was -- in the heart of a walkable and historic district, the Spanish Quarter. We booked one of the two rooms on the top floor with a terrace. The staff was helpful and friendly, and suggested nearby restaurants and helped with a cab when we were leaving. The room itself was charming - decent sized, and very clean. The terrace was where we spent a lot of time - it was like being in a garden above a busy city. But the city noises were pretty well shut out when inside the room itself. Breakfast was good and varied, and we the big mugs of cappuccino. The neighborhood had several good restaurants, and it felt safe to walk. The streets were as crowded and noisy as I expected, and the SQ is generally not that touristy. The Toledo metro station was only a few short blocks away. TV reception was excellent, with at least five English language channels. There was free internet, but we experienced some spotty service during our stay. I'd highly recommend Il Convento if you'd like to experience the real Naples.

We have just returned from a 3 night break in Naples, and can't recommend this Hotel highly enough. It is just off Via Toledo, with plenty of shops, and many restaurants. The staff were all very attentive, helpful, cheerful, and only too willing to make sure our stay was a memorable one. Our room was a good size, overlooking a busy side street which didn't bother us at all. It was clean, and with everything that we needed. Breakfast was basic, but had everything that we wanted. Many thanks to all for a wonderful stay.

Admittedly, Naples was not our favorite city in Italy, but this hotel was a bright spot for us. The staff was welcoming upon arrival and helpful throughout our stay. We had an early ferry to Capri one day, and the staff was very accommodating and provided advice and a breakfast bag for us, as we would miss the regular breakfast times. It was a bit loud, but that was the point -- the great location in the middle of the Spanish Quarter. Very clean, too. Could not recommend more!

Hotel Il Convento is located in the historic Spanish Quarters in Naples. Its proximity to the port makes it a wonderful destination if you are taking a ferry to/from Capri or the Amalfi coast. It is an overstated lodging located in a safe pedestrian area. There are restaurants nearby. It is a smal hotel, a cozy former convent. The room we were assigned was ample, comfortable, clean, quiet, with its bathroom and balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. A satisfying breakfast is included in the price. We took a cab from the airport to Convento and walked to the ferry next day. We were stopping overnight on our way to Capri next day. Recommend it.

Hotel Il Convento is a charming hotel located in the Spanish Quarter of Naples. The hotel is quaint, small, and as boutique as they come. The staff is courteous, professional, and helpful, particularly in setting reservations for dinner. The rooms are surprisingly large with high ceilings, clean bathrooms, reasonably comfortably mattresses, and cute balconies. Breakfast is self-serve though prepared fresh every morning and includes pastrise, various salads, antipasti, cheeses, breads, cereal - just about anything you might want. The surrounding area is safe despite appearing somewhat shady (welcome to Naples), and there are a slew of wonderful trattorie just around the corner.

This hotel is no doubt one of best places we have stayed. If you are looking for outstanding customer service, a good location and buckets of character then this place is for you. We had booked for our 1st wedding anniversary - the staff went the extra mile to make this trip memorable and special for us. Prior to our visit, the hotel helped via email to organise trips and they made reservations for us in local eateries. We were given a room upgrade and some Sparkling wine, complementary for our anniversary. A particular thank you to Luca on the main reception desk, who gave us restaurant recommendations and took the time to draw routes on the map for us - a very friendly and helpful gentleman. Throughout our stay at Hotel Il Convento it honestly felt like nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely; fresh, traditional and delivered to our room each morning with a smile. Location was ideal for exploring Naples, also walking distance to the bus stop for an airport shuttle and to the port for ferries to the surrounding islands. We had no problems finding the hotel on foot, it's well signposted from the Main Street. So overall, perfect in every way.
