We stayed here for two nights, there were four of us. We stayed in a bedroom with two levels. The room was comfortable, bathroom new, air conditioning, small fridge. Breakfast was just fine. Very convenient if you are traveling by train. I gave it four stars for two reasons: mattresses a bit hard and coffee could be better. Other than these two minor details, we had a great stay.
The hotel is not fancy but very acceptable. It is clean, room was modern, and breakfast was good. The location is right across the street from the main train station. The staff was very helpful and spoke English well. The room was not large but big enough.
only thing that lets it down is the choice of wines to order with a meal. the area is not the best but great for all the street markets. also it was not to much of a walk to the main tourist parts of town.
We stayed in February school holidays for a 3 night break. The lady on reception was friendly and welcoming and check in was quick and smooth We were in a suite for a family. Had a mezzanine floor and was lovely and colourful room. Had a safe ( free of charge) and a fridge with complimentary water. Wifi was free although sometimes A little slow. Perfect location to the train station. Breakfast was continental and the fresh warm croissants were yummie. Fresh fruit yoghurt and various meats bread cheeses and cereals. Would stay here again and recommend for a short break. Hotel was kept clean and had no problems during my staying,
This hotel is ideally placed for gaining access to Naples and the surrounding area as the railway station (which includes the metro and tourist information) is only a 5 minutes walk away. A comfortable bed, excellent shower and room well serviced each day. A varied choice at the buffet breakfast and well presented evening meals. If we came to Naples again we would be very happy to stay at this hotel. Barry and Lesley
Great family room, a lot of space. Bathroom and the room very clean. The hotel has a beautiful lobby where you can relax. The breakfast rich, but the hotel was full and they have difficulty in replenishing quickly the food. I recommend the hotel
Very good budget hotel close to the train station and metro Garibaldi. Good bufet breakfast although with limited choice. Clean comfy rooms. Very good prices. Area around train station a little shabby at night.
We spent 4 nights at Grand Hotel Europa and were satisfied. We were supposed to spend 5 nights but had to change our plans in the last minute. The staff very were friendly and helpful, especially one man that worked during afternoons/evenings! He helped us to find the best pizzeria in Naples and were just very polite, and spoke very good English as well (even though i tried to practice my Italian...). Due to the fact that we had to check out a night earlier, the staff told us that we couldn't get a refound (and ofcourse, we wasn't expecting it either, I mean it was not the hotels fault that we choosed to change our plans!). However, they wanted to give us back something for the already pay tourist tax, so they let us choose one item each from ther souvenier shop. A very nice gesture that deserve a gold star! Now to the accomody and practical details - the room was fine, can't really complain. Breakfast was totally Ok, compared to other breakfast buffets I've had at other Italian hotels, it was definitely more than fine. A lot to choose from. The location was good, very close to the Central Train station. However, maybe be a bit aware when going out in the neighbourhood at night, at least I felt a bit unpleasant around (dirty, lot's of garbage and weird people around...that was my experience, just maybe don't walk alone too much). I don't have much else to say. We booked the room and had a very fair price so over all, we couldn't really ask for more.
The hotel is excellent value. The rooms to the front are large and comfortable (the ones on the side are a lot smaller)and have balconies. Noise is the same front or side. All rooms have newly redone nice baths. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good with excellent croissants, fruits, vegetables, muffins, cakes, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, beans, sausage. No hot food items though and only bread (no rolls etc). the usual awful coffee machine but every guest can order one real coffee for free. Only downside was the TVs at breakfast set to loud Italian (cheesy) music. Not very relaxing and not the most stress-free way to start your day. How about having one breakfast roomwith TV and the other two without (or noise for that matter)?
We used Naples only as a stop-over point to Capri, Amalfi coast and the airport to our to next destination. As we intended to fly into our next destination and Naples was our only option to nearest airport plus taking ticket cost into consideration. Unlike many review you read on the internet, Naples seemed quite safe to me.Ofcourse, you need to be careful and not do anything silly like any other place. 1) Location - In a bid to not travel too far, based on our security concerns derived out of Internet, we booked Grand Hotel Europa as it is right next to the Railway station (less than 500m). We traveled over the next days into other locations in South Italy and Naples has excellent connectivity to all of them. I'd suggest you stay in Naples or Sorrento if you want to explore south Italy in a decent budget. 2) Amenities - We were on our honeymoon and the first room allotted to us was a duplex two single beds. Since it was not specified in the booking, the hotel receptionist has allotted this room. On requesting another room, he gave us a two double bed room (enough to fit 4 people) with a small balcony! The hotel has multiple options and be sure to choose while booking it. The tours provided by the hotel seemed a tad bit expensive to us, so we choose to make our own plans. Lots of restaurants are near-by and the hotel has an amazing build-in restuarant in its -1 level (below ground), The breakfast and dinner there was amazing. My husband and I specially loved the pasta! <3 Naples was where Pizza originated, so be sure to try it. On the day of our dinner there, a bunch of school kids got to play the piano in the restaurant causing us quite a head-ache. but, the hotel staff were very friendly and entertained the guests and kept inquiring after the food and how we liked it. The decor is very vintage, I loved the bar room arranged with snacks over the evening. Very European! The hotel seemed to be bustling about through the night, though Naples got quiet after a point. The balcony rooms might be a little noisy as they face the road, but I loved the little plants hanging from the balcony and the view of sidewalks, so I enjoyed the room thoroughly! We stayed there 3 nights and the hotel arranged for an early morning cab transfer to the airport, however, if you can take the bus from right around the corner, please do so, as the hotel charged a little high for the transfer.
