Mariapia ensured we had a lovely experience, she was a highlight of the trip! The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and we had access to a nice kitchen area. The B&B is in a great neighborhood, super walkable and nearby to many delicious restaurants. I would absolutely return!

Mariapia is the perfect host. Accomodating, friendly, helpful, who made a decent B&B a really great stay including reasonably priced transfers to the airport in her own car.

The worst and most horrible experience ever

We had a three-night reservation at the Astra. I informed them two days before our arrival the time we would arrive. I got a reply to the message that someone is waiting for us. When we arrived as scheduled on Friday evening, they told they were overbooked. The owner offered us accommodation three kilometers from the center. I told them I wouldn't accept this, but they had no other choice. I didn´t accept it and because of that we had to find a new hotel for ourselves on Friday night at 10pm. On Saturday we were able to check in to Astra. We were supposed to have a room that can fit three people, but the room was still a small room for two people. However, the worst thing was the accommodation was extremely poor. The toilet was supposed to be only our private use, but I noticed someone else use it too. Also, the bathroom was dirty and toilet seat was broken. There were birds in a cage in the kitchen and there was no mention of this anywhere when I made the reservation. And I´m allergic to birds. The bar downstairs played music all night long. For these reasons we had to check out on Sunday and look for a new accommodation for one more night. I have made a complaint, but Astra refuses to refund us anything.

I liked the location , in historical part of the city we walked everywhere everything was accessible, What I found was not great is that the rooms very tiny and some old junk in the anyway narrow hallway. There are only 4 rooms and 3 showers on the other side of the apartment , the water heating system is weird, its either you shower in cold water or there is super hot burning water comes out , could figure out what's going on The host Maria was nice and helpful however the other host made us feel very unwelcome , my children named him simply "The angry guy" . I think because we were making tea at the kitchen I wasn't aware that we not suppose to use it . he came to us seem very angry and asked how long we going to use it for.. If one runs B&B he should be more welcoming not looking angry. could be he had bad day or maybe just improve his communication skills I don't know, but I know that I would not recommend this place to stay .

We had booked (through hotels.com) a "unit with one double bed and one single" but on arrival were shown to a room with one double. Fortunately the lady was accommodating and took us to another hotel with two single beds. This caused slight inconvenience and embarassment for us.

Ok. 3/4 days I was there I didn’t get breakfast. Breakfast doesn’t start until about 8:30 which is late if you’re an early riser and are doing day trips. Bathroom was clean, but had a moldy smell and the hot water went out quickly. Doors are very loud and room I was in I could hear everything with the person next to me. Mariapia was very nice and welcoming and had tons of suggestions for trips which was very nice. Overpriced for what you receive.

Bad experience

The lady was not there at the B&B. It was hard to find. The lady took us to another hotel. which was 8 minutes walk from there. Bad area. Unsafe. Smelly. No Air-conditioning. A total mess.

ood value B&B

The Bed and Breakfast owner was helpful and friendly and the room was a good size and reasonably equipped. Although the B&B was centrally situated it was in quite a seedy area which reminded me of Soho , London in the 80s. Overall it's good value. The owner has two properties. The one I stayed in was in Piazza Garibaldi, I cannot comment on the other.

Good location, in the heart of Garibaldi piazza

My experience was not a good one, when I arrived to the hotel, they told me that I will be staying in the other building which is 15 minutes walking with my heavy luggage, I arrived to the hotel & the location was good, the owner is very nice & friendly. However the other guests make bug noise while talking, the lift was against charge of 0.10 Euro & I booked on BB however I didn't have breakfast coz I didn't know where& when it's served. When the internet was down no-one in the hotel was there to help. The hotel was empty if the staff the whole day. My room was big & clean however it was overlooking the main street so i could hear all the noise from the street & the vibration from the tram.

Nice hotel for a limited budget

Pros The double room I got was spacious and with a decent private toilet. Towels, pillows, and bedsheets were changed regularly and the room was fixed whenever headed out. The room had a desktop fan which sufficed as the sun never shines into the toom to make it hot or stuffy so it was cool throughout the day. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the b&b had a nice terrace with tropical birds. It overlooked a chaotic but lively scene. Toiletries were always available and there's a usable kitchen witha fridge to keep you food or beverages chilled in the hot weather. A good wifi service unlike some B&Bs and hotels I've tried before. Most importantly, the location is in the heart of the city (the old city) and it's very close to shops, stations, and the famous di Michele pizzeria. Cons The TV was small. The window is tiny... if you care about the view beyond the pane. The breakfast served is basic. There was some construction work on the floor above one morning, which was irritating especially the drilling noise. Nonetheless it was a pleasant experience and sig, Maria is a pleasant person to talk to. I'd go back there and I would also recommend it for budget travellers as some other places I've tried before were some very regrettable experiences. Buon voyage

Nice stay in clean, spacious room. Mariapia was a delightful host and made us breakfast each morning. The shared bathroom situation was confusing. Location was convenient to the train station but not in a particularly nice part of town.

Charming small B&B

A lovely small B&B run out of a first floor flat. Air conditioned rooms are a great comfort in Naples, too. About ten minutes walk from the central station. Clean and simple, with a friendly and helpful owner and her sister.

Great for the price and location!

This was our first time to Italy. We had no idea what to expect so we asked to have someone pick us up at the airport. Everything was confirmed and the person picking us up would be holding a sign that said "Astra." The person never showed up, so we got a taxi cab which was very easy. The doors to hotel were locked at 7:30am so we came back around 9am. The woman did not remember we had a room for the night for the first minute or so but then finally remembered and was very accommodating to our early arrival. Our room was small and clean with a beautiful window. The bathrooms are not in the room, but down the hall. They are also maybe only semi-private. Breakfast was great and came with delicious homemade jam! I would definitely recommend this place for a cheap stay in Naples
