This place exceeded all of our expectations in all respects! Service, ambience, quality, location! This place is spot on in all respects! We are tough critics too and if you are looking for an exceptional experience in ALL respects, this is def the place for u! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
We stayed here as out last stop of a two week greek adventure. This was the R&R portion of our trip. This place appears to be a LUX property, but we had many issues. When we first arrived, we were given a tour which everyone gets. Feels like commercial for Chateau. They show you the spa, but immediately tell you that even the bathes aren't included with the room. The room was nice when we arrived. This is a mega resort in a boutique hotel disguise. Its just vertical and linked to other affiliated properties. If you don't have a car and you don't feel like going to town for a meal, your stuck eating at the restaurants affiliated with the hotel, which are mediocre and over priced. We wanted some soup one night as a small meal. We were given a giant BOWL with about 1 inch of soup. 3 tablespoons and it was gone! And almost $20 a bowl! Most of the staff were super friendly, except the restaurant manager. A lot of attitude. When I complained about the soup, I basically got a "thats the way it is" attitude. Also, at this price and luxury, they don't even give you a bottle of water to drink without a charge. THEN we had ants in the room. They came and sprayed. The next morning we had a full invasion, including ants in the bed!! Upon closer inspection, it was clear that housekeeping wasn't cleaning well. We saw an ants nest, spider webs, dirt etc. Then had to change rooms, because the head housekeeper saw how many ants there were. They never offered an upgrade or a discount for this inconvenience. The pool is beautiful, but kept very cold, and extra salty. We both complained about burning eyes, after swimming. I ordered some pasta and asked if there was dairy in it. The waiter said no, and the pasta was covered in yogurt. Dairy. The staff were nice, but very defensive about everything instead of accommodating. Avoid this place. Its too expensive and out of the way. Elia beach is beautiful, so definitely check it out! PROS: Nice Pool area Views Breakfast Beach CONS: Dirty Bug infested room Besides breakfast, the food is terrible, expensive The bed is UNCOMFORTABLE No proper blankets POOL is cold Defensive attitude by staff NO Knowledge of the menu by people serving the food
We visited Myconian during June. We had an amazing stay. The hotel is extremely clean, the decor amazing and the staff is very helpful and friendly. You do have a private beach, but you will have to take a shuttle to get down there since the hotel is located on top of the hill. But we spend most of the time at the pool and enjoyed the amazing view from there with great cocktails :) The hotel restaurants food was good, but slightly overpriced, but worth having a nice dinner there with the amazing sunset. I would definitely return . Really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful hotel with panorama of Elia beach and the mountains all around. The food was gorgeous , the staff were so friendly and gentle. The visitors of the hotel are from all ages, without children, what makes it a very relaxing environment. The hotel have bus to the beach every 5 minutes and a bus to Chora and way back, very comfortable in the day. In the night, if you come back late from parties, the taxi cost you 30 Eur from Chora to the hotel.
If you're looking to stay on a quieter side of Mykonos, with luxury at your fingertips and Greek hospitality, then this is the hotel for you. Probably the best hotel on Elias Beach. Felt that the size of the hotel is just right because there was always a good, relaxed and understated atmosphere. Private beach area (with wifi and bar service) a huge winner. Steep driveway not for the faint-hearted...don't hesitate :-) Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
That was my second time staying at the hotel. The first time was when it just opened, and it was impecable. The second time however, was not that much. This is a beautiful, magical place, beautiful pool looking over the sea- but freezing. Great service, great food - however very boaring. did not change anything over the years. The same food every day. The rooms are specious, but the matress beds are AWFUL!!! Incrediably uncomfortable, thin and not padded. The main problem I had was that I DID NOT HAVE HOT WATER FOR 3 DAYS!!!!! They changed our room 3 times, there was no change. It took 3 days to fix the problem. They did not trat us better. Costa the manager is very kind, but until he came to see the problem, 3 days passed. and only he fixed it.
this retreat is located in a breathtaking position From the lobby area to the rooms, everything is just so perfect and pleasant The swimming pool is just the most beautiful place where to enjoy the sunset with the right music and a perfect Aperol Spritz. Dream to go again asap
Stayed there a week ( before one week in sister hotel Korali) . •Service from the staff is really excellent. •Location & view are really good. Very beautiful decoration and feeling . You want to hire a car as I did not to feel isolated. Shuttle service ok but not many options and I don't like too much to feel like I am in a group anyway... •Beach service & infrastructure & staff excellent. This is a big plus. A few reservations : •Heat up your pool !!!! Freezing cold. No excuse that the Meltemi was a bit stronger than usual. I spent 16 days in Mykonos and never had a decent warm pool. •Breakfast is nice but if you stay more than a few days it becomes dull. Need some occasional changes. Especially as the two sister hotels Korali and Utopia offer the same type of breakfast... •Wifi in my room (601) was very average despite some attempts from the staff. Like at Korali Hotel.... Still, very nice place and great staff Eric
I was mostly pleased with my stay at the Myconian Utopia. The GOOD: The design of the hotel is amazing – very cool décor and super fresh and clean. The restaurant is great and the champagne breakfast was my favorite one in all of my Greek travels. I looked forward to starting my day with it. The staff was attentive and the display and assortment were high quality. We also had dinner one night and the entertainment manager was super helpful getting us a last minute reservation and really friendly. The pool and spa experiences were my favorite parts of the stay. Special shout outs to Magia, Ebelin, Labros, Mike and the awesome DJ. Drinks were entirely too yummy and potent for real life. Food was delicious and fresh. Music was on point. Wish I had the soundtrack of my days there. We did check out the beach but preferred the luxury of the pool and interactions with our new friends. The room was certainly comfortable, clean, well-appointed and filled with lovely high quality toiletries. The BAD: Front desk staff could be a little warmer. When I booked the stay on a friend’s recommendation, she mentioned it was far from town but that the shuttle ran regularly back and forth and there was Uber. Yet, when we arrived, we discovered that there are no Ubers (I guess it was stopped in Mykonos) so one of the only alternatives to the shuttle which only really runs early or late in the day (not for most of midday) is their private fleet at 60 EUR each way. It’s rather a costly extra to get into town so be aware of that especially if you plan to dine and dance in town. We managed to find a Greek version of uber (Aegean Taxi App) that was helpful with late night expeditions. On the day of checkout, we’d slept in a little later than usual as we’d been out enjoying the nightlife. We moved quickly to pack up our stuff and were excited to spend the rest of our day relaxing at the pool so we weren’t overly upset. It was only that the front desk was ringing us off the hook about 5 minutes past check out time. In all of my hundreds of hotel stays, I’ve never been so rushed out of a room – especially at a luxury high priced hotel. However, I’d worn one of my favorite dresses while there and was disheartened to find that it disappeared at some point during the end of my stay. It had been on the black sofa lounge where I had kept my suitcase with a collection of my worn clothes next to it. The day I left, I grabbed my dresses and clothes off the sofa and threw them in my case. Sadly in my haste, I didn’t notice it was not there. I always check a room to make sure nothing is left (under the beds), under sofas, in the bathroom, closet, drawers etc.). There was nothing. I don’t remember seeing the dress after the second day of the stay when I wore it back to my room and added it to my clothes pile. I locked up my case at the Mykonos airport and it remained locked until I arrived back home. Sadly, when I got home and unpacked, I realized it was missing. I rang the hotel to inquire if there was some way I may have missed it and forgotten it in the room (which I really doubted but wanted to give the hotel the benefit of doubt). The woman who answered the main line said she would investigate. I never heard back. I did reach out to my new friends at the pool to see if they had seen it as an extra diligence and they hadn’t. My only and natural conclusion is that it was removed from my room which is really upsetting and the only bad part of my entire time in all of Greece. Not only was it a favorite but it was costly. I also didn’t appreciate that the person I spoke to when I called the hotel to make an official inquiry didn’t return my call with an update (surprising for an R&C hotel) especially since not only had my sister and I stayed there for 4 nights but my brother in law and his friends surprised us during the stay and also booked rooms at the resort and sister property.
My wife and I stayed at the Utopia from 10th-17th August 2017…..it was our honeymoon so we wanted something special……and that is exactly what we got. From start to finish we had an unforgettable time. On arrival check-in was seamless and the refreshing fruit juice and cold towels were a nice touch. Costa’s gave us a tour of the hotel and from then on he was always on hand to answer questions and to help with anything we needed. Costa’s was amazing during our stay so thank you Costa’s! We opted for a signature retreat room with a private pool and it was perfect for us….just the right size for 2 people and waking up to that view every morning was very special. The only fault I can say about the room (707) was the shower/toilet area is quite dark and the lighting wasn’t great…small thing though so we weren’t bothered that much really….also no coffee making facilities in the room….would have been nice to make a coffee in the room every morning and sit in front of the private pool taking in the view. The hotel pool combined with the view is something else….we found it hard to drag ourselves away. I could look at that view all day…..when you sit at the pool bar for a break from the sun and a cocktail there are mirrors stretched all along so you can still see it ….amazing. All the staff were really nice and friendly….special mention has to go to Mike who didn’t seem to stop and always available for any advice/requests, George and Labros behind the bar were fantastic and 2 of the best cocktail makers you will find……I miss them! We tried the pools at the other hotels in the collection and they were all very nice but for me the Utopia was the best by far, maybe not as large as the other ones but definitely the coolest and most chilled with the best music. Andreas and Lia were also really helpful and friendly during our stay. All the staff are really nice but I couldn’t mention them all. Thank you to all the staff at Utopia for making our honeymoon so unforgettable. All in all I have to give 5 stars for the Utopia.
