This hotel is surrounded by several shopping centers and not far from US 31. It is also within walking distance to several eateries. I chose this hotel to be near family and to have a place that I could retreat to - this place fit the bill! We were originally on the first floor near the pool and wanted a room that was quieter. The hotel staff were very gracious and easily switched our room to a different floor that was indeed quiet. The entire time we were there, the staff was extremely warm and friendly. We woke up Christmas morning to fresh coffee and breakfast. We rented a room for the day for our family gathering which was inexpensive and just the right size. Our room was clean and well kept. We would definitely stay here again.
We needed a place to stay overnight after spending the day luging at the Muskegon Sports Complex. This hotel is 10 to 15 minutes away, but we like the Fairfield brand. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Free breakfast with the usual items. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool looked nice. We had a king bed room on the North side of the hotel, with a microwave and refrigerator, for under $100. There are many restaurants nearby. All in all, a nice stay.
When we arrived at this hotel to attend a funeral in Muskegon, we found out the front desk had given our reserved room to another guest, for some reason thinking they were us. That was not a problem (aside from our daughter having to sleep on a couch). However, a few days after our trip, we found out they had charged us for BOTH rooms. I contacted both the hotel and Marriott to have the mistake corrected.....with no response. So, I disputed the charge thru my American Express and they rejected the charge (Thank you AmEx!!) Another person in our funeral group had her reserved room given away as well. They had no room left to give her so she had to sleep on a couch as well. I am very unimpressed with the lack of response/communication and action from the hotel and would not recommend this hotel because of the extra hassle staying there may bring, with a high potential for lost reservations and extra charges. I must add that the hotel was neat, clean and friendly.
Stayed here one night on route to children's school activity. Pretty standard chain hotel, but the room is spacious, very clean, and things are in good shape. Very quiet. The staff is very friendly. Free breakfast has great hot and cold selections. The taste is regular hotel breakfast. Overall, very comfortable and pleasant stay.
Stayed here for one night and loved it. This place is super clean and well maintained. Front desk staff was super friendly and welcoming. Huge rooms and bathroom . Great breakfast. Safe area that’s near the mall and highway, but not loud.
Wonderful experience! The breakfast buffet with high protein options was perfect for our dietary needs. The young lady operating the breakfast room was fantastic - kept all food full, went in the back for special requests from guests, and was attentive to keeping the tables clean in the busy dining room. The employee that checked us in on 10/13/17 @ 9:30 PM was very friendly and helpful. Nick, the employee that checked us out on 10/15/17 went over and above by offering to take $20 off our fee when we mentioned that there was a leak in the window from very strong rain the night before - we put a towel on the window sill and it didn't impact our stay negatively at all, so we declined the discount, but it was nice that he acknowledged it could have been an inconvenience. We just wanted to be sure they knew, to prevent additional damages to their property. We are staying at another Fairfield Inn & Suites in s couple of weeks and are now really looking forward to it! Thank you!
The hotel is very clean and up to date. Small indoor pool and hot tub. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast offerings the same as others. Location near many shopping areas. Good place to eat is Thrashers BeAr Tavern
Muskegon is not known for nice hotels and clean accommodations. The town is a blue collar town that has very few jobs that pay well. The Fairfield is one of the nicest hotels you can stay in here. I lived in Muskegon for 40 years so I had inside information as to what hotels to avoid. I knew the Fairfield was a newer hotel and was still kept up as I had friends that stayed here in the last 6 months. Everything was as expected. I travel a lot for work and I am used to good hotels this one met my expectations. Room was very clean with no smells carpet has no stains and the air conditioning was on so the room was comfortable and dry. I always do a bug inspection and the room came back squeaky clean. Mattress was new and in a protector bag linens were all clean and they even looked like they wiped the headboard down. In room couch looks to be less than 2 years old and was very clean. Doors and doorknobs show no wear and we're also clean. Only thing I can find wrong was a coffee stain on the curtains. Overall I am very pleased with the room. It is a comfortable size and quiet.
We were told they needed to do a room change and was it ok if we had the third floor- sure we didn't mind. We did not know it was a suite. Very nice- big, lots of extras. frig, micro, closet space. big bathroom. the only downside. Couch had worn edges that were ripped. But easy enough to overlook since it was such a great clean room. Pool and breakfast were nice. Nice area.
It's a Fairfield Inn, pretty standard, newer which is always an advantage. Nothing special. Service is fine. Friendly. Pool. Standard breakfast. What else can I say, it does what you'd expect from a Fairfield Inn.
