Outstanding, comfortable home for a weekend getaway. Beautifully appointed with both inside and outside spaces to relax and enjoy company. Only miss is that you can’t walk to a water view. But you can’t have everything!! Great location for Murray State Family weekend. Thank you!

Heron's Rest was the perfect spot for a lakeside getaway with friends. The house is beautiful with a large porch, and the fire pit was nice too. The pool is a short drive from the property, but was more than manageable. Highly recommend booking a stay here.

Great place for family and relaxing! Very clean, neat and stocked. Great location for privacy, quietness and scenery. Love the screened in porch and watching the hummingbirds during the morning. People in the area were very friendly. The community pool was great! Definitely would come back!

This home was beautiful, clean and great for our family. We met our daughters, sons in law and our 11th old grandson for a short vacation. The property was so well maintained and clean, we had no worries regarding his health or safety. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep and clean up a breeze. The community pool was absolutely wonderful. All of the amenities both inside and outside made relaxing and family time absolutely special. Our hosts were informative, accessible and very friendly. We would highly recommend this property and we’re already planning our stay for Summer 2026!

We 4 golden girls go on vacation every year. This house was very comfortable, clean, nicely laid out. It was a little far from town, and the pool, but that was okay. Maybe needs a few more cooking utensils. Communication with the owner was prompt and helpful. Overall great place.

Beautiful Home

Heron Rest is a beautiful home. It is new, clean, and well appointed. We have stayed at many properties at Kentucky Lake over the years and this was, by far, the best. The indoor space is very comfortable. The bed setup gave six adults ample space to be comfortable. The back screened in porch is incredible with a gorgeous ravine view. The massive front porch made for great front porch sittin’ with a nice cup of coffee. The location in Western Shores was great - the dock was easy enough to get to that we could easily go back and forth as needed. The Daugherty’s were great to work with. They proactively communicated details and updates in advance of our stay and their check-out expectations were wonderfully simple. We will absolutely be back.

Girls Weekend Getaway

Annual girls trip. We came across this Gem on VRBO. Absolutely stunning ! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back . The owners are fabulous! The area is breathtaking and there is so much to see . Will definitely come back!

Beautiful Home

We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean, beautiful, and exactly as advertised. The area was quiet with lots of wildlife. We saw deer, and bison at the ranch next door. The community pool was perfect for the hot weather we had during our stay. Couldn't have asked for better accommodations.

Girl's Weekend

This house was beautiful. It was new and everything was spotless. The grounds were very nice. It was perfect for our girl's weekend. We used the clubhouse pool. The view was fantastic.

Great girls trip!

The house was incredible! Smartly decorated, great neighborhood, very clean. Lots of wildlife around the property/neighborhood (deer, fox, frogs, hummingbirds). The community pool was very nice with a great view of the lake (9 min drive). We decided to dine in one evening so we picked up groceries in Murray. Kitchen had all of the tools needed to make a great dinner. Used the fire pit and made s’mores. We are planning to stay again :)

Sibling Vacation

Our stay was three sibling and 2 spouses in our 50's. The property and house was amazing and we loved it. It was beautiful, fresh, and clean. The screened in back porch with fans and the cloud like mattresses were the best! Thank you!

Girls getaway to Kentucky Lake

It was a fabulous girls weekend retreat!! The house was perfect for 5 moms, wives and friends looking for respite in a quiet, secluded area near the lake. The home had EVERYTHING we could have needed, down to all the materials needed for the fire pit. The front porch was perfect for our morning coffee and reading while listening to the sounds of nature. The soaking tub was an added bonus to relax in after a day at the lake. The views from the community pool were stunning and calming making for the perfect pool days. The tankless water heater was a perk allowing us to all shower without worry about getting cold water. I would recommend this place for anyone traveling to the area.

Fantastic Family Vacation!

WOW! For our family vacation tradition, we rented a house to unplug and enjoy time together -----> this property, house and it's hosts were AMAZING! We used every amenity along with the community pool. Met so many nice neighbors in the area and saw so much wildlife (including the bison and their babies)! We would like to thank the hosts, Wendy and John! Our family gives it all thumbs up, 10 out of 10 - best of the best! We had the best time making all the memories! We will be back! THANK YOU! :)
