We stayed at this hotel for Oktoberfest. It is more like a frat house. So noisy, rubbish in the hallways there is no noise barrier doors at all and noise echoes horribly in the hallway and into your room. There is NO AIR CON in the room nor is there a bar fridge. Which is difficult when you want some air because the street is too noisy to have the window open. The shower has a shower curtain with discoloration on the bottom of it. No wonder, you end up standing on the damn thing while you shower because it is way too long. So disgusting. One one occasion there were blood stained sheets/towels thrown into the hallway by the cleaner. It sat there for quite a while which I found to be an obvious biological hazard. I brought this up with the rude staff members at the reception desk who didn't even bother to look at me as I spoke to them. The woman respond with 'the cleaner is not done yet ok' then walked off. The pillows... Well. They're not really pillows it feels like an old doona shoved into a pillow case that's way too big for it. Horrible. Do yourself a favour and spend the little bit extra and stay in a decent hotel.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights. I think the price considering the offer. The room was clean, a little bit old and small. But for staying overnight it is ok.The staff were friendly. The location is near the city centre.
Not the newest or fanciest hotel in the world, but much more than expected, considering the price. Reception is opened 24h/day, the staff was nice, our room was clean and comfortable (the interior design was a little off, but nothing critical for a hotel room). The location is great, close to the city center and very close to some cool pubs, restaurants, and museums.
Rooms are comfortable and clean with all necessary amenities like Sat-TV, telephone and free Wi-Fi. What could yopu expect more at €49.00 per night for a double bed room? staffs are polite and always ready to help you with a smiling face.
The city is nearby, especially when using the tram whereas good restaurants are aplenty; the area is rather hip with several vintage shops abound. The hotel staff were friendly and the room was good - clean and even attached to a balcony (for me, at least). However, the fact that the lift didn't go up to level 5 was rather problematic for my parents, who are elder - we had tons of luggage so carrying it up a flight of stairs was a hassle but we managed, of course.
For the price, Hotel Westend does offer you a clean room, a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Do not expect anything more. As I am used to relatively shabby hostels, this was a nice change to me. The hotel does show signs of wear and tear, but as mentioned, it is clean and a good deal for the price and location.
Very small rooms, with a double bed and а cot- you bang your legs wherever you turn yourself. Every morning I was awoken by the vibrating alarm phone of the neighbor next room. The district was not good- dirty, smelly, full with refugees. Small parking- for 6 or 7 cars.
Not the best neighborhood and with no air conditioning had to sleep with the windows open. We faced the street and it was not quiet at all! Bathroom is very small, basically the size of a cruise ship. Internet is sketchy at best and the bed is mushy. That said, it is within walking distance of the main attractions and you are only sleeping there. Would I stay again, no, however, if you're on a tight budget, it would be ok.
Good location, close to the centre. Room was clean and comfortable. Reception staff were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food. Not a luxurious hotel but very good value for money.
Checked in at gone 1am. Front desk guy was polite, spoke very good English, and gave adequate direction to the room. As per other comments, the lift is very small. One person and some luggage only. Room is small, but fine. Few small issues, but at its price, acceptable. First the bed was two singles pushed together. One was very firm (to my liking), the other was exceptionally soft. This made sleeping across them somewhat uncomfortable, the quilts were also in the Nordic style of two singles on a double. The shower was also exceptionally small, but the pressure and temperature controls were fantastic. The room had two very large windows that could be opened fully, but with mismatched curtains. WiFi was exceptionally poor. Gone midnight, unable to stream a YouTube video in the lowest quality. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from hackerbrücke station, despite the current tram works disabling a crossing point in the road. It is about 15-20 minutes walk from the old town, or one train from the nearest two stations. hackerbrücke does not take amex or other credit cards according to the train companies website, but the similarly close u-bahn station does (may need to walk down the platform to the alternative entrance. All in all an acceptable hotel, especially given the price.
