Rebook now. The bed bugs are not worth it. We booked our room months in advance for Oktoberfest. We had a room with 2 twins and a bunk bed. I woke up at 3am scratching my arms off. One of the girls found at least 7 visible bed bugs on her sheets . We ran down to the front desk and they said, "Oh yeah those other backpackers brought the bed bugs. You can have another room but you must wash all your clothes." The front desk attendant proceeded to toss us two 2€ coins to use their tiny washing machine. We had to use our own detergent. So there we were at 4 am, roomless, waiting for laundry, tired and covered in bites. Personally, I had over 100 swollen blisters. Some of the other girls were put on antibiotics. Some didn't react as bad bus still had multiple bites. We got one free breakfast token each for a day (cereal and some cold cuts-poor compensation). When we went, we were all harassed by the breakfast bouncer while eating because we were given the wrong coloured token. The entire situation was poorly handled by staff. The staff seemed to know of the infestation but proceeded to put people in the room anyways. In all my decades of travelling this is by far my worst accommodation experience. Please, don't ever stay here unless you are an entomologist doing research on how to eradicate bed bugs-in which case you will have a lot of specimens to work with.
During a stay for a long weekend in A&O, I sadly had to discover bed bugs in the two-bed-room booked. We got a new room without any efforts (it somehow seemed they were not very surprised) and also offered money for pharmacy expenses. Rooms are a bit worn down overall. Maybe - look for something different!
It is hard to find something affordable in Munich, so the prices of this hotel seemed quite attractive - even more, it is located near the Bus Terminal. Besides these two "advantages" I would not recommend it for more than a one-night emergency-stay. The rooms looked better on pictures than in reality, the beds are clean but rooms are small and stuffy.
Stayed here for a stag trip and had so many problems it wasn't funny. 1. One of the rooms (we had 4 booked) wasn't ready so we couldn't leave our bags in the room, had to leave in one of the others 2. When getting back to the rooms later that night, not all card keys worked so several trips to reception were required 3. As many card keys didn't work, it appeared that the security guard decided it was ok to let people into rooms. Even people who were NOT booked into the room 4. 2 of our group had items stolen in the night. One had a wallet take and another (in a different room) had his wallet emptied - WHILE WE ALL SLEPT! 5. Breakfast options were pretty slim, boiled eggs and random meats and a few cereal options - most of us opted to head to Subway down the road Yes, this is a cheap option for a short stay but it was hard to get a good nights sleep as you were worried about someone coming into your room. We ended up putting a chair in front of the door to reduce entry in the end.
Perfect location for Oktoberfest - around a 15-20 min walk to the event. The rooms were old and filthy. The breakfast was decent though. Don't stay more than two nights...... this building is around a thirty min walk away !!!!
Turn around and run in the opposite direction...especially if you have young children and don't want to get a disease... This hotel/hostel is an absolute atrocity.. Granted we stayed during the Oktoberfest celebrations but this place is only good for boozers n hookers.. drunk guys everywhere passed out in dingy creepy hallways, vomit, urine and every other bodily fluid that would light up under a uv light.. feels like you need to carry disinfectant for every door handle you have to touch....and the prices during that time of year are craaaaaazy... The poor poor staff....very nice staff in their early 20's having to deal with working in this place, the drunkeness and whatever else, given what they would be dealing with, I feel sorry for them...
Myself and 7 others booked an 8 Bed dorm so we knew that we would have the whole room to ourselves. It was exactly what we expected 4 bunk beds with with a private bathroom. Shower was good and although a small room what else do you need? We were on the 3rd floor so didn't get the noise I'd expect you would get on the ground floor. The reception area bar was lively to say the least every evening til late and probably like most of Munich the excesses of alcohol consumption meant there were a few lost soles banging on incorrect bedroom doors and signs of overindulgence on the stairs - which didn't stay for long. The room was neat and tidy, towels, sheets and matresses all clean / new. I will definitely be booking again. Maids cleaned the bathroom each morning and the receptionist was very helpful. No issues like others have had previously but maybe this was because we were there for the opening weekend of Oktoberfest.
I made a mistake when I chose to stay here for Oktoberfest. If you want to be afraid to touch the shower curtain when you use the shower this place is for you. The sheets were like sandpaper, the lobby, and entrance were full of empty beer bottles and assorted garbage. The staff did their best but due to the time of year they were severely under staffed. There was some sort of heavy concrete rock slab thing in the smokers pit/courtyard that people kept dragging around and no one on our room slept. As a Canadian it hurts me to say anything but "Sorry" but jesus this was awful.
Pretty meh. Nothing awful but definitely nothing great. Location is 20 min walk to train station, and about 40min walk from the old town. You have to bring your own sheets or rent them- they do supply a comforter and pillow without covers. Though my room was in the basement I did have a window. Was a cheap option so can't really complain.
If you want a cheap, noisy, school dormitory then this is for you. We were a bit shocked when we arrived.. was hard to find, at the time, a reasonable place in Munich.. There are corridors all over and to find our room was a challenge.. to find the breakfast room was even harder.. cheap and nasty.. bed was really strange.. not for us that's for sure
