My family of 5 were traveling to south carolina and stopped here for a nuce rest on the fly. I got the hotel on priceline and it was super clean, almost brand new and very quiet. Great free breakfast in the morning too. They kept bringing out more hot food...very good stay.
The staff seemed fine. We didn't interact with them very much. We obtained 2 pillows for the sofa bed & a couple towels because only 3 were in the room. Our room had 2 Queen Beds with pull out sofa bed suite room with a tiny microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom door and ceilings had water damage on them. Decor was odd, neon green walls and rest of room neutral, but dated. Furniture was very beat up and stains on a bench and on the carpet with something bright red. Curtains had tears in them, too. The door to the room was damaged and even the housekeeping staff who tried to let my daughter in the room in the morning took 3 attempts to open the door. This is concerning due to whether it is even safe or not in case of an emergency. The Queen beds and bedding was fine. The sofa bed had broken springs and was not in good shape. I was second person showered and ready so I hurried down to breakfast. The cinnamon rolls are always good. Bagels were very moldy and I showed it to an employee who removed the entire tray. I think the whole tray was bad. I sincerely hope no one ate any without noticing. The one I picked up was very obvious and really covered in mold. I had a very fresh banana and cup of coffee. Cereal, Pancake machine, eggs, sausage and biscuits, but no gravy was offered. My daughter called me from our room telling me she broke out in hives after eating breakfast. She is allergic to soy, almonds, walnuts, and some seafood items which show up as fillers in some foods. So, I don't know if the sausage had muri in it or if there was soy in something. But she didn't get hives at any other Holiday Inn Express, just this one. Could have been mold, too. Who knows. She took Benadryl. We are hoping for the best. After the kids finished taking showers, the room and hallways on our floor smelled horrible. There was no ventilation fan to run in the room. We think it may have been mold, but we packed up very quickly and left in a very big hurry. It was very difficult to breathe!!! I would not recommend staying at this hotel after our experience and if it hadn't been a stormy night, we would have stayed elsewhere. The room looked in bad shape upon arrival, but there were storms in the area and we didn't want to risk driving in stormy weather through the hills and construction on unfamiliar roads. Several of these issues should be addressed immediately. This hotel has serious issues.
We stopped for an overnight stay on our way to the beach. We stayed in a king room with sleeper sofa. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I would definitely stay here again. Nice breakfast with several options. Austin checked us in and was great, very friendly.
We absolutely loved staying here. We went for a long weekend and wanted to be close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but far enough out that we didn't have to deal with the traffic and crowds. The room was great, nice and spacious and very clean. My kids loved the complimentary breakfast. It was a nice variety with omelets, biscuits, sausage and a cool pancake machine my kids adored. We played in the pool several time during our stay and it was nice, clean, heated indoor pool. On our last day it was out of service but we had played in it some much it wasn't too disappointing and the front desk lady was so nice and apologetic. We especially appreciated our sweet housekeeper Carolyn. She was so kind to help us and chat with us anytime we saw her on the elevator or in the hall. She made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely stay here again and are already planning our next trip!
Stayed 1 night, front desk clerk was pleasant. Room was a good size and clean, but there was a lot of dust on the bathroom door. I really wasn't worried about it though. Breakfast had lots of choices, pancake machine was a hit!
On a one-night stay while traveling, I appreciated Austin saving one of the last remaining rooms for us until we arrived late at night. He also directed us to a nearby restaurant (Sagebrush) that stayed open late where we enjoyed a delicious meal. While the hotel was full, we never heard a sound while in our room. Our room started with a room with a sofa, tv, and desk. The bathroom door faced the short hallway before the bedroom so that the light from the bathroom would not disturb another sleeper. The queen beds were very comfortable and wifi worked well once I was able to connect. The breakfast area is too small, but they replenished the food regularly, and most people ate and left without lingering. I have since read conflicting reviews of this property, but our experience was so pleasant that I made a point of writing this review. Thank you for a very restful night's stay after a long days drive.
Stayed here 1 night. Was grateful bed was comfy and mattress not old. Was disgusted with dirty doors, walls, knobs everywhere. breakfast was the usual fare with fake eggs which are fairly disgusting. Will not plan on returning here.
Nothing puts a damper on the day like horrible customer service. This place was built for that. The front desk man refused to help us with our points for that night. The manager at the desk referred us to the reservation line. It was called and we were told of a room upgrade at said ok. The man at the front desk said nope that room wasn't available so sent us to a standard room. Sure thing after 12 hours on the road we weren't arguing. Guess what we get to the room and it was still dirty. This after 4 pm the check in time. I guessed this was the only room we were going to get after going back and forth with the man at the front desk. This took forever and during that time the room got cleaned. We ask for a that manager to come speak to us. Waited forever. Her excuse that the front desk man had a hard time understanding computers and can't figure out the point system. At that point we are like whatever we want to eat and sleep.
Stopped here on our way back from South Carolina to Indiana. New, clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. Priced very reasonable. Indoor pool. They had the free breakfast too! Lots of places to eat and stores to shop at in either direction from the hotel.
Front desk very very helpful and friendly. Hotel was very very clean new looking. Rooms were very large and clean. Maid service was excellent. Food was fantistic!!! Cant wait to go back again. Would highly recommend this hotel.
