Spent last night there and when we walked in, our first impressions were “nice”, but shortly afterwards it went south. The room was large with a sofa that when you sat on it you thought you were sitting on a woopie cushion, you could write your name on all the tables, the air conditioning was loud and furniture was dated. Then morning came and down for some hot coffee (not), it was luke warm, got some eggs (cold), biscuit (cold), turkey sausage (cold), didn’t dare go for the bacon but the cinnamon rolls were warm. The eggs, biscuit and sausage went in the trash and I went to advise the manager there was a problem. He asked if the kitchen hostess was there and I said I hadn’t seen her in a while but he found her in the back room. The manager stayed in the back I guess warming up food as the hostess started putting out new hot food but neither the kitchen hostess or manager noticed the warmer lights were not on (like the ones over the cinnamon rolls). This hotel is very outdated compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels I’ve stayed in.
We were traveling from MS & came across this Holiday Inn Express in Newport. As always, I checked the reviews on Trip Advisor. There were some not so great reviews so I wasn't sure how we were going to like this hotel. It wasn't the best Holiday Inn Express we had ever stayed at but it was just fine. I actually booked it from the parking lot of a "quick mart" as it was getting late & we were afraid we'd have problems finding a place. I believe it was rated a 2-star hotel which made me a bit nervous. If passing through this area again & we needed a hotel, I would stay again. Breakfast was fine. Since we are a member of their rewards program, we always try to stay at a Holiday Inn if possible.
My friends and I stayed here at the Holiday Inn and it was great. Austin at the front desk was very helpful to all of us. He literally went above and beyond for us to enjoy our stay. I have never seen someone so eager to help us out. The breakfast was good, and the pool was awesome. Overall this property is a great choice. Thank you for a great stay Holiday Inn Express.
Check-in was slow, but it was really late when we arrived. The room, however, was not what I would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Maybe some have been renovated, based on the other positive reviews I am seeing. If it hadn’t have been so late, we would have left.
This place has an amazing front desk clerk. Austin Ford was so helpful in every possible way. When you stay away from home you don't expect to get treated like family but he made us feel like family. Would recommend this place to anyone. I have never experienced the level of customer service I received from this young man anywhere I have ever been. Great customer service!!
We stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express in Newport. We had an excellent stay there. The room was very clean and very quiet. Yvette greeted us on our arrival and was so helpful and very pleasant to deal with. She did an excellent job! She was able to switch our room to a higher floor at our request. She was part of the reason our stay went so well! The hotel is very easy to access off I-40. We will definitely stay here again!
I was really pleased with the accommodations, location and staff of this hotel. Room with a Jacuzzi, clean and spacious. The front desk staff (evening and day) were friendly, helpful and polite. The hotel is located in a convenient walk to breakfast at Cracker Barrel or dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. We opted for a short drive for dinner. We asked the staff for dinner recommendations and they were spot on. We will stay here again next time we visit.
Jennifer and Alice was very nice and kind I came down to talk, they listened very well, if I needed any thing they gave it to me. and I would comeback any time I traveled with our company. They have a very nice clean pool, rooms are very clean, exercise room very nice and clean and very helpful.
I have reserved the Holiday Inn of Newport several times over the past year. Each time, I am greeted by the same clerk, Austin! This guy knows his stuff! He is quick to listen and answer my questions. Austin is clearly very efficient in his job and is a great asset to this hotel! Looking forward to my next visit! Thanks!
After a long icy trip from South Carolina we stopped for the night at this hotel. From the moment we arrived we had great service. Alice and Jennifer were so pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for sure and if we are ever traveling through again we will be sure to stop
