My experience here was amazing! Starting of with the personnel, they were kind and very helpful. A brief story of thier personnel, we went on a hike and our shoes got dirty with mud. We called to see if they had a laundry service, which they do but our flight was in a couple hours. So one kind gentlemen that worked in the hotel washed our shoes. Their attention is on point like no other. The rooms are clean, beautiful interior, great wifi, modern bathrooms that are clean, nice gym, great pool to relax but not to dive in, breakfast is enjoyable, wonderful architecture, and once again the people that work there are awsome! When its time to sleep, you sleep. Its mostly quiet and great atmosphere. I will be coming back to this hotel!
I am actually in the hotel, the staff is friendly and attentive, I haven't really asked for anything special but they are all attentive. Breakfast is good enough for what you need in the mornings. I will suggest to have a few more running machines or cardio equipment at their gym, there are only 2 and often are very busy. As well as a business hotel needs a business center, there is only one computer at the lobby but not comfortable at all, you need to be standing. The hotel looks a little old style and needs maybe some renovation and refreshment, being in the hotel industry we see details that not every guest see. I am still here for an other two nights so I hope everything will continue as it is. If you are coming to Morelia for business and not too high expectations this is a good place, internet works well and is clean...
Never thought i would have so many nice things to say about a Holiday Inn express, You really know you are in Mexico while staying here. The architecture is wonderful, two court yards one with heated pool ,nice paintings everywhere,lots of sitting area,s ,great furniture,large clean mexican motif rooms, a unexpected large breakfast with fruit eggs bacon juices and more ,and not a bad price either
The hotel is pretty standard. Although most HIExpress do not have any personality, this hotel could have it. A pitty, a place with great potential. Downsides: I never found the elevator for the second floor. Other than that, an OK place to sleep.
All the hotel need maintenance, there is a small "gym" but the equipment excercise are misplaced and makes a lot of noise. The room facilities are very depressing. According with my experience this hotel is very expensive.
I think a fair balance price - benefit, Positive: good location, convenient for close restaurants, shopping malls, and easy to move almost any place in the city, breakfast included is not bad, and in general service is good. Negative: rooms are old and dark, and too noise from out side and other close rooms, facilites as the gym are pour with not much maintenance. If you are on a trip, with limited budget and not much expectation about hotel`s facilities, is a valid option.
BUGS in the bed. Asking to the front desk the only answer: we can change you to a different room. No apologies, no real interest on my person. I left the place on Sunday at 6.50 am. DON'T STAY THERE!!!!
Very average hotel in need of a remodel. Rooms are dark and dreary. Breakfast could be upgraded with more quality selections. Staff are friendly and helpful. No major issues but I believe just they need to think about an overhaul in all areas.
When in Morelia we often stay at the excellent and well managed Turotel. But in a misguided decision to save a marginal difference in pesos, we booked a room at the HI Express. In no way should this property be compared with the nearby, more modern sister Holiday Inn. The HI Express Morelia is a faded property that badly needs a facelift. I have to say that the handicapped accessible room in which we ended up (unnecessarily, due to a confused conversation at reception) had stale air and undoubtedly the ugliest hotel room in which we have stayed for years. The best feature were comfortable beds, (although a tad short), but on the other hand, we were unable to decipher the Rube Goldbergian shower plumbing, and were unable to shower. We didn't avail ourselves of the included breakfast, except that my wife had some toast and tea. She seemed impressed by what she saw of the breakfast offerings.
This was our last option during the weekend. The rooms are too small. It has a good location, if you are interested in shopping. The breakfast has a terrible logistic, they only have one door, no fresh air on the room, lowest quality on the coffee, eggs, etc. The worst thing was that 1 hr before the check out the cleaning lady knocked the door and wanted to clean up the room, what is wrong with this people? No reason to go back to this hotel.
