Rosedale Inn

We found the Rosedale Inn or a last-minute website for a great deal. We arrived past office hours but found our envelope, and were very impressed when we opened our door and found a spacious room, with Jacuzzi tub and fireplace, very well cleaned, and tastefully decorated. The bed mattress was extremely comfortable and "the best" my (pregnant) wife had experienced during our California journey. We enjoyed the simple continental breakfast, and overall found this to be an excellent, high-value hotel stay!

Really enjoy staying here ... this was our third time staying here ... Great location close to the biking trails. Was able to bike approximately 3 miles to the aquarium. Love being close to the state park. Clean room and a great staff

Upon arrival the hotel staff was accommodating in allowing me an early check in. I was told they needed my credit card even though everything was prepaid as insurance that I didn't break any windows or destroy property. I am a 62 year old professional woman, single occupancy. The need for "insurance" could have been explained with a bit more tact. The grounds were nice, the hotel old but updated somewhat. The room was cold and all the windows were open. Within 10 minutes of closing all the windows I realized they were airing out a plumbing smell. The fireplace had a small pre-controlled gas flame that was so small it was hardly visible and not worth the gas to use it. The jetted tub was very old and the finish was peeling off in various places. The bathroom floor was sticky and had not been cleaned as there were urine droplets in front of the toilet. The floor was cleaned by the next day but still sticky in places. The breakfast was meager and mostly pre-packaged food with the exception of hard boiled eggs, a bowl of fruit and a waffle maker. I did not eat at the hotel the week that I stayed there. The bed was comfortable with ample pillows. The clock alarm kept going off regardless of what I did to re-set it. Needless to say, I will not stay there again nor recommend it to others.

For the price we paid this place was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. I am not the tallest person in the world so the sink height was a bit challenging. Only reason this place does not get a “5” is because our comforter was stained and furniture was old and worn. Would not hesitate coming back to this place due to size of room and location.

I love this place, across from Asilomar, in a quiet residential area, but still close to the shops of Pacific Grove and only a few more minutes to the attractions of Monterey, or the fine dining/shopping of Carmel. I'll be back!

Very Good! beautiful please and also Very good location and closed to everything you want.

Great location .. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful .. spent very little time in the room. It was very clean and comfortable... Will definitely book here again.

My wife and I really enjoy staying here. Clean rooms, reasonable prices. across the street from Asilomar State Park.

Besides the quality of the shower and tub, the room was very clean and cozy. The fireplace was awesome and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and professional and the free breakfast was just an added bonus to our overall amazing stay. I look forward to staying at the Rosedale Inn again.

We stay in this place a lot, however, this time, due to high occupancy, we were given a room that the bed mattress is not in its great shape.

Nice location. Friendly folks. Nice sea food place nearby. Well kept rooms. Easily accessible.

Easy access to rooms from your vehicle, close proximity to beach and biking

Nice rooms, good location. The rooms are on the small side but they're updated. There's a fireplace in the room and it's cozy. The staff however were pretty bad. The guy we checked in didn't know his right from left, he was so clueless, and the guy in the morning was very curt and unfriendly. We probably would not stay here again.

Older hotel that appears to have been remodeled. I reserved a room with two queens and when we arrived late, we were upgraded to a suite with two queens and a fireplace. The suite was comfortable and appropriately clean.

Stayed for 3 nights. Loved it. Great location. Decent breakfast.

Hotel room was very clean nice fireplace close to the beach within walking distance very quiet surroundings easy drive to Monterey or Carmel loved it

We spent one night at Rosedale while we were in Pacific Grove. The location was perfect for walking along the ocean and visiting various places like Point Lobos and the Monterey Aquarium. Our room was very nice and the bed comfortable. We would stay at the Rosedale again if we visit Pacific Grove again.

Travellers beware! With everything else sold out within the area, we ended up staying at Rosedale Inn for the long weekend. Even though it is a 2 star hotel/motel, I was told that they have updated all their rooms. I booked a one bed room king suite. I was confirmed for an early check-in over the phone. When I arrived to the hotel, I was told that my room is not ready and was treated poorly by an woman that may be of Indian decent? I overlooked that and waited patiently in my car. When I entered the room, there were stains on the carpet, toothpaste stains on the counter, and brown spots in the jacuzzi. I desinfected everything and managed to stay overnight. I left as soon as I can. I did not even shower, my room was that disgusting. The problem occur a day later when I checked my credit card statement. An additional $150.00 was charged to my account ontop of the $269.00 room rate with no notification/explannation. After a night of uncomfortable stay, I have had enough. I called the hotel and the hotel accused us of destroying the room. When asked why hasn't the hotel contacted me, the clerk began to stutter. I demanded proof for the alleged damages and the clerk was not able to provide. In her words, there were smoking in the room and a damaged garbage can. I then told her that my boyfriend has asthma and neither one of us smoke. I asked for photographs of the alleged damaged items. The clerk said she will get back to me on it but never responded after I gave her contact information. I have reported this incident to my bank. This is not the way to do business - dirty room, rude staff, and posting unauthorize charges on customer's credit cards.

Excellent location near Asilomar Beach area at price significantly less than Monterey. Have stayed at Rosedale several times and will do it again.

Wonderful staff roomy accommodations. Breakfast good. Great location. Quiet. Would stay here again.
