The unit itself was amazing. Exactly as described. The furnishings were nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. Although if you are used to sleeping with a ceiling fan, bring a table top fan and place it on top of the armoire in the bedroom—there is no fan! The kitchen was nicely stocked and all the appliances worked well (never used the stove/oven but it appears to be new). My issue is with SanDestin itself as the property manager of this unit. My family and I have stayed in the Beachside buildings at SanDestin many times in the past, always booked directly through the owner or a third party management company. This year was the first where we dealt directly with SanDestin and I hope it is the last. Every single year prior to this, our room has been ready on or before arrival. This year, with SanDestin, we arrived at 5 pm and our room wasn’t ready until 9 pm because apparently they won’t hire enough cleaning staff (FYI: Americans will work for a livable wage if all the other staff was deported due to visa issues). We got a 150 refund (I hope—it’s supposed to be going through VRBO) but it was NOT worth the hassle of having to spend 4 extra hours in our car after we’d driven 7 hours to get there. To say we were displeased would be a vast understatement. And we were not the only ones with this experience connected to the conference I was attending. As another minor inconvenience, there were also days that the internet either didn’t work or was slow.
