There was clearly a historical story about the property, but I didn't invest too much time exploring it. Wonderful old building that has addition placed onto in the years but with an unknown story of how, when, or why. I'm going to be going back again and ask more questions about it.
Very convenient
The older rooms are disgusting.. They are run down furniture is falling apart and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. For over $300 a night I would never come back here again. Luckily we were here in the summer and we were not spending a lot of time in our room.
The view and location were perfect!
I definitely was not happy that I was mislead about parking. I literally asmed check in girl if there was a fee as I read there was. I looked behind bed and saw someones pld ear plugs. In the age of Covid not cool. Also asked for extra sheets that never came. Im big on cleanliness & customer service. Otherwise I loved this place and would go back. But did not feel Covid safe in the slightest. Just sayin'.
The front desk staff were less than friendly, but the hotel was great. The location is fantastic, right on the river and the rooftop patio cannot be beat. Their was a recent remodel and they did a great job, it's beautiful. We stayed in the older part of the hotel, so it was very dated, but yet charming. Bathrooms could use some updating.
In house restaurant and banquet facilities. Nice historic facility that is well maintained.
The room was very cute and I loved the historical style. The view out our window was not good and finding the room was confusing and could have been marked better.
Great location. Rooms are outdated and musty. Staff seemed less than thrilled to be providing service.
This place is really neat. The location is great, right in downtown Stillwater and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The amenities are modern, but the style is true to the original building. I recommended it to a friend when I got back.
Very fun and great place will stay again. Downtown Stillwater close to the water. Patio for every room!
The concept of staying at a older hotel is very appealing. But some of renovations and unnecessary upgrades made the experience feel cheap. The beds were very uncomfortable. The staff was great and went out of their way to answer any questions. I feel like the entire hotel needed a good cleaning and a face lift, or maybe just new paint. Based on the conditions of clean I couldn’t recommend staying again.
Because we stayed here about a week after peak (color) season, we were nearly the only guests in the place, and it's located in the heart of the waterfront district with a nice variety of shops and some excellent restaurants (Marx and Lolo both HIGHLY recommended for dinner). Service from everyone was first rate. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Complimentary breakfast was a plus.
I had a wonderful stay at the Historic Water Street Inn this weekend! The location was perfect, just a few steps away from main street in downtown Stillwater where there are such cute shops, restaurants, and bars. The staff were so friendly, and the room was roomy, vintage, and adorable. I would love to visit Stillwater again and when I do, I'll absolutely stay at the Water Street Inn again.

Sorry, we are working on the historic side of the hotel, haven't been able to finish it all due to COVID, hoping to get more done this winter.
