I have been very satisfied with all the services of this beautiful hotel. Starhotels family hotels are always good choice! Near metro, perfect breakfast. I would definitely stay here again during my next Milan visit.
centrally located hotel offering clean and nicely decorated rooms. however breakfast was hectic and products were just average. could be a reasonable choice if benefited from promotions offered on their website.
Lovely hotel just off main shopping street of corso Buenos Aires and close to Lima metro station. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Close to sightseeing bus stop. Many restaurants to choose and busy shopping street.
I have been to Starhotels Ritz for two days business trip in Milan. The hotel is high quality and it is well located. Staff was very polite and welcoming. I was very impressed by their willingness to help me and to make my check in and check out easy. They were also willing to print my boarding pass and book a taxi from to hotel to malpensa for a colleague who didn't even stay at the hotel. The room was great and breakfast was excellent. Definitely I will restay in this hotel my next business trip.
Stayed 4 nights, 20-24 November, 2017. The positives first: My room was spotlessly clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was quiet despite an adjoining door. Shower fine and toiletries provided. Good location, central to shops. However, these are outweighed significantly by the negatives. First of all my room was tiny. The desk (see photo) was not big enough to support an open laptop without the TV getting in the way. And there was no chair, instead I got a stool which meant I had backache by the end of the second night. Second, the air conditioning didn't work at all. Third, the curtains didn't close completely so you couldn't blank out the external light - this was a small issue to me in November but would have been a major one in summer. Fourth, there are no kettle or coffee making facilities, and my colleague was told that she could only have an iron and board for 30 mins after which she would be charged. Food was not good. I called room service on Monday evening at 7:10 pm to order the chicken dish from the very limited menu. I was told that I couldn't order anything before 7:30 so had to call back. Later learned that my colleague (who is Italian) was able to order at 7pm. Phoned back at 7:35 only to be told that there was no more chicken. Seriously, what sort of hotel runs out of chicken? Ordered veal and roasted vegetables which was terrible, not worth even a third of the 22 Euros I was charged. I was staying on business and therefore I paid the bill, but if I had been staying privately I would have insisted on money off my bill and/or moved hotel. I find it offensive that the hotel calls itself 4 star - I thought that working air conditioning, a chair and tea and coffee making facilities in the room were necessary for that rating. I have voted with my feet - I will be back in Milan in three weeks and have booked another hotel (the Nyx)
I was in this hotel for 2 nights during my stay in Milan. The hotel is OK. But although I was in a NO SMOKING floor, the smell was terrible. The room was also full of dust, as I had to open the window to breathe better. During the first night, I was placed in a room with an inside door to the next room. There was a family there and the baby kept screaming until late at night. The parents, probably nervous, screamed too. This was not the hotel fault, and they changed rooms for me. But the other room was dusty as well. And the bathroom was not well cleaned: there were hairs and toothpaste from previous guests.
Me and my husband spent a weekend in Milano. We can really recommend hotel: Nice rooms with great modern style, clean, comfy bed, great breakfast and very nice and personal staff! We will sure be back!
From the moment you arrive you can tell this is a very odd hotel. The very brown foyer is below street level by about 2m. This means you must go down stairs carrying your luggage to get to reception. When leaving the stairs are even a bigger hassle. Then the lifts (elevator) to the rooms are so small it is a tight squeeze to fit 2 people and 2 suitcases in one lift. The wait for a lift can be quite long too because so few people can travel in each lift. When we arrived in our room (605) it smelt badly of tobacco smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. I called reception immediately to report the smell and ask for another room. I was told by Martina that there were no other rooms available, which I know was untrue, and that housekeeping would clean the room when we went for dinner. If housekeeping could remove the smell with the “special machine” they have why was this not done before we arrived? Disappointed with the lack of service we opened the window for some fresh air. The following day we left the hotel at about 11:00am and hung the “please make up my room” tag on the door however when we returned exhausted around 4:00pm the room was still not made up. After our earlier experience I didn’t bother to report this as we just wanted to rest for a while. The Starhotels Ritz is not a Star or is it Ritzy. The location is good but everything else was disappointing and for a room rate of over €270 per night we expected a better experience.
The hotel is very close to both Lima and Porta Venezia metro stations. It's very easy to reach attractions by metro and get back to the hotel. Brekfast was great with many choices. Reception personnel was very helpful.
This hotel felt sort of dark and dingy, and seemed like it was a little off the beaten path. However, it was not too far from the duomo, shopping, etc. The staff was very helpful, especially when we had some issues with our transportation to Lake Como.
