This Hotel has a good and international standard. Modern and fast services. Parking is free and easy. The rooms are good in shape, big and clean. There are quiet rooms, no noise. At the entry hall there is a bar and lounge, all is very simple. Breakfast is included and ordinary. The location is perfect for the Airport Milan-Malpensa, for Milan and Como.
All you need or want from a business hotel. A long way out of the city but good for the Fair/Malpensa Efficient front desk with good English, good choice at breakfast (slow to bring a capcuccino through). Very good rooms, comfortable bed & nice work desk, good wifi. Quite expensive @ €135, but there was a fair on.
I frequently come to this area of Milan for business, and of the 4 or 5 hotels i've stayed in this area, this is the nicest. The building is fairly new, elegant, rooms are comfortable, everyone speaks English and the staff is friendly, etc. The big plus for me is the the gym opens at 0630, thus allowing me to excercise before the working day begins. I think breakfast may be somewhat improved; It is OK, but I think this establishment could offer a little more in terms of choice and varieties. I definitely plan to return.
Our experience at Starhotels Grand Milan was great from the check-in to check-out. The customer service was friendly and helpful. The most outstanding aspects were the lovely breakfast, spacious and clean room, the wellness was as advertised on the website and also we were pleasantly surprised at the (free) option to have a late check-out. The train station was indeed close to the hotel, but be sure to do your research on the ticket system (there are special trains that only accept 1st class tickets). There are also quite some restaurants in the vicinity and a supermarket. Would definitely recommend it!
This very nice luxury hotel is located 25km from Milan city center. I don’t know how one gets to the city by public transport, but I’m sure it’s possible. Staff is professional and helpful, as one would expect from such a hotel. Everything is clean and working. They even have swimming pool that they encourage guests to use. Cap and slippers are mandatory and can be obtained from reception free of charge. I loved the bed. I haven’t slept so good in ages. Room was spacious, clean, comfy, cozy, well decorated. There’s quite a good restaurant and coctail bar on the ground floor. Coctain bar also serves sandwiches. I didn’t check the reviews about the area around the hotel, but I guess it’s safe to park outside. Underground parking costs €7/night. Breakfast is plentiful with everything from omelette and müsli to sweet croissants. I enjoyed it. Overall I would definitely go there again as for the money I paid it is significantly better than similar hotel in Milan city center.
Of all the hotels on our trip to Italy this was the most Americanized. The receptionist spoke very good English, they had a pool, business center, breakfast and dinner restaurant, bar, room service, gym, pool, parking garage and pretty good wifi for italy. They were one of the few places we stayed that had eggs and bacon. I don't think those are standard italian foods for breakfast, but I enjoyed having them a couple of mornings on our trip at this hotel. The train station is close by and it only takes about 20 minutes or so to get to Milan. And Lake Como is only about an hour north. Both places are a must see if you have time.
I stayed for 3 nights as part of a business trip with my wife accompanying me for sightseeing. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Staff are courteous and professional and respond very quickly to requests. The Hotel itself is relatively new; open entrance lobby; good sized rooms; comfortable beds etc. We didn't use the restaurant but the breakfast is good. Location is also excellent. Train station is just a five minute walk for easy access to Milan. For business, easy access to the main roads network and 25 minutes to MXP airport.
We decided to stay here as we wanted to both go into Milan and the lakes. The place was very easy to find (a few min off the motorway). Hotel is a modern complex rather than charm and rooms are clean and sized appropriately as expected for 4 star. We stayed in the junior suite which was suitable for a family of 4 Como was a 30 min drive from the hotel (very straightforward), Bellagio was another 45 min drive from Como (very windy roads) and 1hr 15 back to hotel. Lago Maggiore was a 45min drive from hotel. Best bits: - breakfast (included) had a great variety of hot and cold food. Nothing exceptional but ticked the bozes in terma of quantity/quality and variety - it had all toiletries required in bathroom (shampoo/conditioner/body wash/cream/shower cap/soap) - had a great, low chlorine swimming pool that had a retractable roof, so a great area for sunbathing also! - good steam/sauna rooms - Saronno station is a TWO min walk with direct train into Milan which took 19 min! Tips: - take your own swim hat and flip flops (mandatory for pools in Italy). if forgotten, then Decathalon (sports shop) is a 3 min drive/15 min walk from the hotel and you can pick a hat up for 1.5 euros and flip flops for 4 euros, rather than pay the hotels price of approx. 17 euros - the four seasons restaurant (pizzeria) is a 3 min walk from the hotel and it does great food - there is unsupervised free parking outside the hotel which we took a risk with and car was fine. To be super safe then pay for underground car park. - Go to Lago Maggiore instead of Como (drive to Stresa), it is stunning and ten times less busy. -
We choose this hotel based on the TA reviews, without a reservation. It appeared to be an excellent hotel as a stop-over during our journey from NL to Tuscany. Very professional reception and staff. Excellent price-quality. Good beds (an exception in Italy) and a very nice breakfast. We would stop here again on our next trip.
We stayed here one night on our way back from Rome. Very friendly helpful staff on the Reception desk. Room was large - loads of space - and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also big with good shower. Breakfast in the morning was good. Very busy restaurant but again the staff had time for you. Everything refilled quickly. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Saronno itself seemed quite small - things closed up early - but a great stopover point. Would come back.
